Two Tries (CC152)

I haven't had much time to blog lately. Besides, I didn't like my Inspiration Challenge card from Saturday, and I posted my Featured Stamper Challenge card from Sunday on Monday. I didn't do the Technique Lover's Challenge from Monday, so now we're up to Tuesday's Color Challenge. I wasn't going to post this card with the "Loads of Love" truck and "It's A Sign" stop sign because I wasn't happy with it, so I made another one and didn't like that one either! I finally decided to post both of them! LOL! Not every creation we make is a gem, right? This challenge was to use Apricot Appeal, Real Red, and Ballet Blue. It sure was a challenge for me!!!

• Papers: Real Red, Ballet Blue, Whisper White, Going Gray
• Ink: Basic Black, Real Red
• Accessories: WCW Crayons, Aquapainter, Brass Screw Brads, CB Tiny Mosaic EF, Red DS Ribbon, Ticket Corner Punch

The first card was predominently Ballet Blue, so I went with Apricot Appeal for the base card on this second attempt. I used the Solitude Wheel with Real Red ink cartridge to make the vertical floral border. I cut ovals from Whisper White and Ballet Blue with my Coluzzle. I stamped the branch and bird from Spring Solitude on the white oval and sponged with blue. I used Fiskars scallop scissors to cut around the blue oval, then dotted with white gel pen and then Real Red marker. I stamped one flower from the same set with Real Red and cut it out and adhered it to the bottom of the main image panel. I finished it off with red organdy dotted ribbon from Mike's. I think I should have done another one with a red base card, but I just ran out of time!
