Thanks, Pat!

Pat Smethers is such a sweetheart! I couldn't find this Martha Stewart Heart Border Punch, so she went shopping for me!! I just got the punch in the mail yesterday and she sent me the most gorgeous little card to go along with it!! Anyway, I decided to make a card just for Pat. I got the idea for the ribbon flower buds from a magazine. I cut the leaves from Mellow Moss Taffeta Ribbon and used the salvage edge of the ribbon for the stem. I used my new punch on the bottom and added four pearls in the corners. I popped up the layered Nesties with Dimensionals and stamped Thank You from Fundamental Phrases. Thanks for stopping by!!

Forgotten... (IC217)

This was done yesterday for the Inspiration Challenge, but I forgot to post it! I just got very busy with life. We were to go to www.Espe.ca to find inspiration. My inspiration for this card came from one of the handbags. It's called Nectar Tote Green, and it's located in the lower right corner of the page. This is a very simple card really. I just die cut flowers using Flower, Daisy #2 die available from Stampin' Up! I punched the centers using 1/2" and 3/4" circle punches. The purse has a bee on it, but I couldn't find one that would work, so I used a butterfly instead. The butterfly trail was done with a white gel pen. The sentiment from "Upsy Daisy" was embossed using Jeweled Gold embossing powder. I used a black marker on the edges of the butterfly wings. That's it! Thanks for stopping by!!

Today's Stamp Camp Projects

I'm in a rush because my first session of this Stamp Camp will be at 3:00 PM (The second session is at 7:00 PM). I just wanted to go ahead and post our projects. I didn't do a challenge card (milk carton actually) today because of the preparations for this Stamp Camp. Card #1 is a red and black Valentine card which is very similar to a card I did for a Sketch Challenge earlier.
Card #2 actually IS a card I did for an Inspiration Challenge, and it was posted earlier, too.
Card #3 is our second Valentine card. That layer of pink is actually designer paper that is solid pink on one side. I stamped it repeatedly with the X's and O's from Fundamental Phrases. The flower is die cut using Flower, Daisy #2 from SU! The circles were punched and the whole square panel was popped up with Dimensionals.
I promised two Valentine designs and three birthday designs. This birthday card is my attempt at a masculine card. I used Itty Bitty Backgrounds, Thoughts and Prayers and Sincere Salutations sets. The sentiment was stamped with Encore Gold. This is just a combination of Chocolate Chip and Very Vanilla; that makes me hungry for ice cream!! LOL!
For card #5, I used the 2-Step Bird & Branch Punch and a sentiment from the Pun Fun set. The paper is from the Sweet Pea DSP tablet available from the Occasions Mini catalog. The ladies will actually be making this one in two different colors. The other one is done with Dusty Durango and the same DSP only with orange polka dots. They also have the option of using the other side of the paper.
I always have treats for my Stamp Campers. I used celo bags from SU! and made white toppers using the Yummy set which was a 2009 SAB set. I filled each bag with Valentine M&M's and added a punched heart over the staple. Thanks for stopping by!!

Your Friendship (CCEE1004)

The CCEE Challenge has been a sketch challenge presented by Cindy Haffner all month. This is the last one for January. Cindy likes to make square cards. I made this one 4-1/4" square. The four circles are each four layers. The base card is Rose Red with a layer of Sweet Pea Designer Series Paper. I thought that circle design would go well with this sketch. I used punches and dies to make the four layers of the circle designs. The bottom scalloped circle was die cut from the card stock that's in the designer paper packages. The next layer was punched from Rose Red using the 1-3/4" Circle Punch. The next layer was die cut from white card stock, and the top layer was punched out of the reverse side of the Tea Party paper using the 1-3/8" Circle Punch. The main images, from Wings of Friendship Hostess set, were stamped with Rose Red and Taken With Teal inks, and I used two sizes of star punches for the star. Thanks for stopping by!!

Blooms (CC255, SC265)

This is for yesterday's Color Challenge and today's Sketch Challenge on SCS. The colors we were to use were Pretty In Pink, Melon Mambo and Blush Blossom with any neutrals and a red heart for dessert. This is a nice sketch to use this flower with. The flower is from Bloomin' Beautiful and is stamped using Black Stazon ink. I used Water Color Pencils and an Aqua Painter to color the image. The round medallion has a stamp from Happy Heart Day (retired) and is punched with Circle Punches and popped up with a Pop-up Glue Dot. The ribbon is Melon Mambo Polka Dot Ribbon. The base card is Blush Blossom, and the patterned paper is Pretty In Pink Prints Designer Series Paper (retired). The main image panel is Whisper White and is matted on Melon Mambo. All products are from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!!

Juicy Gossip (MMTPT78)

Today's Teapot Tuesday Challenge from Mothermark requires us to bring something to gossip about. Here's the story: Derek Dragon is flying us in to Rapunzel's castle for our tea party. When we land, Derek's brother Darrel (Or is it his other brother Darrel?) is supposed to be there to greet us with Mardi Gras beads kind of like they greet you in Hawaii with a lei when you arrive. Mardi Gras in next month, so we get beads at the castle. Anyway, that is NOT Darrel! It's actually Darla Dragon in disguise!! Now, here's the juicy part: Darla is secretly in love with Derek! She's in disguise just so she can be near the dragon of her dreams! Derek doesn't know of her love for him; do you think she should tell him? I think she's afraid of being disappointed.

As for the card, the base is Baja Breeze, and I made "bricks" out of pieces of Close To Cocoa and sponged them with Chocolate Chip. The leaves were die cut and punched from Certainly Celery and Old Olive. The image is a Dustin Pike Freebie that I water colored. Thanks for stopping by!!

CASEing Karen (FS155)

Today's Featured Stamper is Karen B Barber. I feel we have become friends as we have commented many times on one another's cards, she is a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, and she is a Christian. You can tell a lot about her by her blog. She does a particular technique called, "Black Magic." I just had to try it. Here's her card that I chose to CASE. I changed the colors, papers, ribbon and bling. I also changed the oval from vertical to horizontal. I don't think my card is nearly as pretty as hers. I need lots more practice with that technique I guess! Everything except the bling is from Stampin' Up! The inside sentiment says, "You are one of a Kind!" Thanks for stopping by!!
  • Stamps: One of a Kind
  • Papers: Real Red, Specialty Paper (retired), Whisper White, Basic Black
  • Ink: Whisper White Craft, Real Red (inside), White Gel Pen

Tuna nuT (LSC256)

The Limited Supplies Challenge today, hosted by Wendybell, was to use a palindrome on our cards. Today's date, 01-22-10, is a palindrome. That's any word or words that, when spelled backwards, spell the same thing as they do forwards. "Tuna nuT" is a palindrome. The "Cool Cat" image was a free digi image I got a year or two ago from Hambo Stamps. I colored the image with Water Color Pencils and blended with an Aqua Painter. The title is computer generated, too. It's punched with the Word Window Punch and matted on a Modern Label Punched piece. That mat is Crushed Curry. The base card is Bermuda Bay, and I used the Corner Rounder Punch on the two corners where the card opens. I used purple pearls in the flowers on the flip flops and on the sentiment panel. Thanks for stopping by!! (Again!)

Love 4 U (TSC0122)

The Twisted Sistahs Challenge was to make a Valentine card with the number "4" on it. I still have some tiny pieces of wrapping paper left, so I die cut the "4" with that. I die cut the "U" out of Pink Passion card stock. I've been using a lot of scraps today. The die cuts are Sizzix "Pep Squad" alphabet set. The heart was made by stamping the heart from the "Always" set with Versamark and then Pink Passion and then heat embossing with Clear Embossing Powder. The Top Note was die cut from Whisper White. It was an extra one that I had already cut. The leaves were punched from Certainly Celery with the 2-step Bird & Branch Punch. The flowers were punched from Pink Passion with the Flower Trio Punch; then, I embossed them using the Mat Pack and Embossing Stylus. I finished them off with tiny pearl centers. The base card is Pink Passion and the paper is Certainly Celery Prints Designer Series Paper (Retired). Everything except for the Sizzlit Alphabet Dies and the tiny pearls is from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!!

Love You A Latte! (WT254, CCEE1003)

This is for two challenges: Ways To Use It Challenge on SCS which was to use something that we cut out on our cards, and the sketch is another of Cindy Haffner's sketches for the month of January at the CCEE Challenge Blog. For the first challenge, I cut out the cup and the sentiment. I also punched the leaves and flowers which is a form of cutting, I think. For the sketch, I made the card 4-1/4" square, used the three squares and one larger square, and I filled in the empty space in the upper right corner with my embossed flowers and punched leaves. This is a Stampin' Up ONLY card. Thanks for stopping by!!
  • Stamps: Pun Fun
  • Papers: Bermuda Bay, Apricot Appeal, Whisper White, Apricot Appeal Prints Pack DSP
  • Ink: Bermuda Bay; Markers: Apricot Appeal and Soft Suede

The main image from the "Love You Much" set was stamped with Versamark and heat embossed with Black Embossing Powder. The ribbon is the new Basic Black Satin Ribbon in the Occasions Mini Catalog. Get Well Flowers (CC254)

This card is for today's Color Challenge on SCS. We were to use Bashful Blue, Soft Suede and Ruby Red, and for dessert, we were to use stripes. I used the Soft Suede for the base card, then I added a layer of Bashful Blue Striped Designer Series Paper. The Top Note die cut piece is Whisper White, and I stamped the "Greenhouse Garden" flowers in Ruby Red with the second of the 2-step stamping done in Soft Suede. The leaves were cut from Soft Suede using the Little Leaves Sizzlit. The tiny flowers were punched from Ruby Red and embossed. I added the Blue Gingham Ribbon (retired) and the sentiment from "Sincere Salutations" was stamped using Soft Suede. This is a Stampin' Up! ONLY card. Thanks for stopping by!!

CASEing Anne (FS154)

Today's Featured Stamper is jdmommy!! Anne is a fan of RED!! She's also an online friend. In fact, I just sent her some images that I stamped off for her! I chose to CASE this card. The "Rulz" say that, if the card is a sketch challenge card, we must change the layout. I flipped the layout and made it into a Pocket card which is also for the Cuttlebug Challenge - Be Inspired #66. I used different stamps and I changed the Certainly Celery to Brushed Gold. I also used a different Cuttlebug embossing folder. Thanks for stopping by!!

Today's Inspiration Challenge was to go to the Nell Hills site to find inspiration. I didn't even have to go to the site because I chose one of the examples Stef gave us. I chose these prints for my inspiration. I made this little 4-1/4" square card and kept it Clean and Simple. I just stamped the thyme image from "Herb Expressions" with Black Stazon and then colored it with SU! Markers. I used Pretty In Pink to sponge the image, too. I stamped the sentiment with Versamark and heat embossed it with Gold Embossing Powder. This was all done on a Whisper White panel which I matted with Brushed Gold and then adhered to the Basic Black base card. Everything used to make this card is from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!!

I used Close To Cocoa, Pretty In Pink, Very Vanilla, and Sage Shadow card stock, and I used Berry Bliss Designer Series Paper (retired). The only thing that's not from Stampin' Up! is the Nestabilities for cutting the ovals. I used the new 2-Step Bird & Branch Punch and my old stand-by, the Flower Trio Punch. Buggy Birthday (SC263)

This is for today's sketch challenge on Splitcoaststampers.com. My son saw the birthday card I had intended for him on my desk. It's the western one I did for the Clean & Simple Challenge on Monday. Well, he thought it was too plain. I used today's sketch for my "do-over"!! The base card is Chocolate Chip, and the two patterned panels are "To the Nines" Specialty Paper. I stamped the caterpillar image from the "Bugs and Kisses" set with Chocolate Chip on my pre-cut Whisper White oval; then, I colored it with a Sage Shadow Marker. It's matted on Chocolate Chip, too. The oval die cuts are Nestabilities and are the only things used on this card that are not from Stampin' Up! The ribbon is Chocolate Chip Wide Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon, and the leaves were punched from Sage Shadow card stock using the new 2-Step Bird & Branch Punch. The sentiment on the inside says, "Sending worm wishes on your bug day!" Under that is a green worm, and there's brown ants going down one side and across the bottom. I'm sorry I didn't photograph the inside for you. Thanks for stopping by!!

Tess is here, not to PICK apples but, to BAKE apple pies. She likes to use Granny Smith apples for her pies, and she's hoping to lure that bad apple guy out of the orchards and into the dining room!! I stamped the nest from "Nature's Nest" with Black Stazon on Whisper White and water colored it. I cut it out, which was quite a task, and adhered it to a piece of DCWV Photo Stack paper that I had distressed and sponged with Basic Black Classic Ink. I matted the main panel on Basic Black card stock which was also distressed. I used the Little Leaves Sizzlit for the Garden Green leaves and sponged with Basic Black again. The background was embossed with Cuttlebug Floral Screen embossing folder and sponged. Thanks for stopping by!!

Simple Box Tutorial

I created this tutorial this morning for one of my Twisted Sisters because tomorrow's Twisted Sistahs Challenge is to make a box. Well, the file was too big to email, so I printed it, scanned it and attached it to a post on the TSC Thread at SCS. If you've never done that, you probably have no idea what I'm talking about! Anyway, I decided to post it here for all to see!

You will need:
Card Stock for the bottom of the box
Designer Paper OR Card Stock for the top of the box (I used DP here)
A Ruler (One Foot Long)
Pencil
Bone Folder
Scissors
Adhesive

Cut DP or Card Stock to 8-1/2" square for top.

Cut Card Stock to 8-1/4" square for bottom IF you are using DP for the top. Cut to 8-3/16" square if you are using Card Stock for the top. This allows for a good fit.

Using the ruler and pencil, draw a line diagonally from corner to corner and another line the same way to form an "X". See photo below.Fold one point to the center of the "X" as shown.
Fold again, aligning fold line against the pencil line as shown. Follow the last step with all four corners, folding and unfolding. Your paper or card stock should look like the photo below. Cut one end for the edge just to the corner of the center square. Do this on both sides of one end. Cut the other end the same way as shown.
Turn the paper so that the uncut end is facing you as shown. Apply adhesive to the inside of the triangle piece and fold twice, matching up the tip of the triangle with the center of the pencil lines. You are forming one side of the box (top). Fold the end pieces in to form half of another side. (See above) Do the same on the opposite side. Match centers and adhere as shown below. Apply adhesive to the remaining end triangles. Fold over and in, matching tips of triangles with center of box. Follow the previous step for the other side. The top of the box is finished!! The bottom of the box is cut 1/4" smaller than the top for better fit. If you make the top out of card stock (especially SU! card stock!), you must make the bottom 5/16" smaller. See the second step above for my measurements; however, you can make these boxes any size you want as long as the bottom is slightly smaller than the top. Once your box bottom and top are made, you can decorate your box as you like. I will decorate this one tonight for the challenge tomorrow. Then, I will post the final decorated box here. See you!!

Tuesday Bathing Beauty (WT252)

Today's Ways To Use It Challenge, "In with the New", was to use things we just received as gifts or that we bought ourselves. Yesterday, I used a new bunny stamp I got from Whipper Snapper when I ordered "Frog In Love." Well, I also ordered this "Tuesday Bathing Beauty" as well. Yes, I'm an addict!! LOL! I'm an SU! demo and have very few stamps from other manufacturers, but I love so many of the cute stamps over at the Whipper Snapper site. I'm NOT promoting them as I'd much rather have everyone buy SU! sets; however, sometimes there's just no way of passing by a really cute stamp!! Thanks for stopping by today!!
  • Stamps: Tuesday Bathing Beauty from Whipper Snapper
  • Papers: Naturals White, Pixie Pink, Lovely Lilac, Whisper White
  • Ink: Black Stazon
  • Accessories: Big Shot, CB Tiny Bubbles EF, WCW Crayons, Aqua Painter, Tiny Pearls, Crystal Effects (on the bubbles), Ribbon
