With Love (LSC205, ssnotime72)

The Limited Supplies Challenge was called "Clean and Simple" (CAS) and Sharon's (notimetostamp) Simply Stamping Challenge was called "Love is in the Air". For Sharon's challenge, we were to create a card with the focus on love. Now, whenever I throw away any scraps, I often use little pieces to punch out flowers with my Flower Trio Punch. I store them in a spice jar and emboss them before using them on cards. The red flowers here have peel n' stick pearls in the centers which I got yesterday at WalMart. The only stamping here is the sentiment on the inside of the card. The bow is a ready-made bow I've had since Christmas. I have several left in a Starbucks Frap jar. Thanks for stopping by!
  • Stamps: Happy Heart Day (inside)
  • Papers: Pretty In Pink, White (inside)
  • Ink: Real Red (inside)
  • Accessories: Big Shot, Cuttlebug With Love Border EF, Scallop Edge Border Punch, Embossing Stylus, Peel n' stick pearls, Ready-made bow, Glue dots

Cheers! (WT203)

The Ways To Use It Challenge was called "Bottoms Ups" and we were to use alcohol in our design. That means alcohol inks, Copic markers, etc. I don't have any of those, so let's just say the alcohol is in the drink! The base card is Naturals White as is the main image panel. I used the small oval and small scallop oval Nestabilities for the main image panel and mat. The image was stamped with Black Stazon and colored with Water Color Wonder Crayons and an Aqua Painter. The Tempting Turquoise panel was embossed with the Tiny Bubbles embossing folder and matted on Pixie Pink. I did some paper piercing on each side of the lower portion with one side up and the other down. I inserted my brads evenly in three of the pierced holes. The ribbon is Tempting Turquoise grosgrain ribbon. The inside is lined with GP White and the sentiment is stamped inside with turquoise ink. Cheers!

A Friend (SC213)

This is for this week's Sketch Challenge on SCS. The color combo was inspired by the patterned paper from My Mind's Eye. I've had it for such a long time; I've got to start using up some of my stash!

The layout for the sketch is shown at the right. The embellishment at the lower right was optional; I used the button. My base card here is Ballet Blue Textured card stock. As I said, the designer paper came from My Mind's Eye. It's layered on Chocolate Chip Textured card stock. The green strip is Certainly Celery (a scrap) and is also matted on the Chocolate Chip Textured card stock. The main image is the sentiment. It's stamped on Very Vanilla with Chocolate Chip ink and sponged with Celery. I did a bit of paper piercing in two corners. The ribbon is Certainly Celery 1/4" grosgrain ribbon. The button was in my stash with the string already in it; I just had to re-tie it. What a pain that was! LOL! Thanks for stopping by!
  • Stamps: God's Blessings
  • Papers: Ballet Blue & Chocolate Chip Textured CS, Certainly Celery, Very Vanilla, MME DP
  • Ink: Chocolate Chip, Certainly Celery
  • Accessories: Mat Pack and Piercer, Dauber, Celery GG Ribbon, Dimensionals, Button

Thank You Pizzazz (CC203, Mojo71)

Have you been wondering about me? Well, I was in the E.R. on Saturday (again) with pain and swelling in my knees, ankles, and hands. I've been referred to a rheumatologist. I'll update you on my progress when I get to see him. Now, I'm back to the challenges! This week's Color Challenge was to use Garden Green, Pacific Point, and Baja Breeze. I made mine a square card because I used the Mojo Monday Sketch.

The actual sketch is shown at left. My card is 5-3/8" square and fits into Stampin' Up!'s Medium Square Envelopes. My base card is Pacific Point Textured card stock. The next layer is partly Green Tea Designer Paper and partly Baja Breeze card stock that has been embossed with the Birds n' Swirls embossing folder. The ribbon and knot is Pacific Point Striped grosgrain ribbon. The main panel is stamped with Baja Breeze using the leaves from Embrace Life and also with Pacific Point using one flower from Petal Pizazz. It is sponged with a dauber and Baja Breeze, matted on Garden Green and then Pacific Point, and the corners were all Ticket Corner Punched. Two more flowers from Petal Pizazz were stamped, cut out and embossed as well as two leaves. I stamped with Cute & Curly using Baja Breeze and punched with the Curly Label Punch. I sponged with Garden Green. I stamped the sentiment with Garden Green and punched with the Small Oval Punch and popped it up with a Dimensional. There's a Rhinestone Brad in the middle of the flower that was stamped on the main image panel. There you have it! All the products used are from Stampin' Up! except for the embossing folder. Thanks for stopping by!!!
  • Stamps: Petal Pizazz, Embrace Life, Cute & Curly, Short & Sweet
  • Papers: Pacific Point Textured CS, Baja Breeze, Garden Green, GP White, Green Tea DSP
  • Ink: Pacific Point, Baja Breeze, Garden Green

40th Birthday (LSC204, WT202)

I combined three challenges for this one. First, I used Kristina's Color Inspiration Challenge #39(Basic Black, Real Red, So Saffron, Green Galore (or other green), and White). This worked out quite well because the Limited Supplies Challenge was to use a black base card and the Ways To Use It Challenge was to create our own fancy patterned paper or card stock. I managed to get all those colors in there by using the balloons. Since this is a birthday card, it worked! I stamped the base card with Versamark and embossed with Silver Embossing Powder. I used the Sizzix "Round About" alpha set to cut the "40" out of thin cardboard. Then, I covered the numbers with black chunky glitter. My friend's hubby turns 40 in march and she's having a party for him. I hope he likes this card! Thanks for stopping by!
  • Stamps: Crazy for Cupcakes, On Your Birthday, Seeing Spots
  • Papers: Basic Black, Real Red, Green Gable, So Saffron, GP White
  • Ink: Black Stazon, Basic Black, Versamark
  • Accessories: Big Shot, Circle and Scallop Circle Punches, Snips, Silver EP, Heat Tool, Circle and Scallop Circle Nesties, Thin Cardboard, Sizzix Round About Alphabet Set, Various adhesives including Dimensionals, Chunky Glitter

Baby Shower Invitation

I'm having a baby shower for my daughter in February. This is what I came up with for the invitations. The blue embossed piece is adhered to a 4-1/4 X 5-1/2 white piece. It doesn't open. You just turn it over to read the information (Who, What, Where, When, Why). I punched a couple of 1/8" holes near the left bottom to run the feather through. The banner, which reads, "Almost hatched!" was computer generated. She can use this same design for the birth announcements except place the top part of the egg shell to the left and down a little, and the sentiment would read, "He's hatched!" Then, on the other side, she could write in the name, weight, length, and date of birth. I think the shower will have the egg/chick theme. I'll make favors which will be baskets with plastic eggs filled with mints or some kind of candies. I'm still working on it! Thanks for visiting my blog today!!!
  • Stamps: A Good Egg
  • Papers: GP White, Bashful Blue, Copy Paper
  • Ink: Black Stazon; Summer Sun & Only Orange Markers; Computer ink
  • Accessories: Big Shot, CB Swiss Dots EF, Computer & Printer, 1/8" Hole Punch, Yellow Feather, Dimensionals

The Rose (CC202, VLVJan02)

Today's Color Challenge was to use Regal Rose, Bravo Burgundy, and Kiwi Kiss. I combined the Color Challenge with this week's Viva La Verve Sketch Challenge. The Verve Sketch Challenge always has a twist. This time it was to add bling to the project. The base card is Bravo Burgundy with a layer of Regal Rose that has been embossed with the Floral Fantasy embossing folder. The next layer is the Kiwi Kiss side of Bella Rose DSP matted on Kiwi Kiss with added bling in the corners. The next layer is Whisper White matted on Bravo Burgundy with the rose from "A Rose is a Rose" stamp set. The Two-Step stamping is so easy to do when you use the Stamp-a-ma-jig! Finally, the ribbon is Kiwi Kiss Satin Ribbon. Thanks for visiting my blog!
  • Stamps: A Rose is a Rose
  • Papers: Bravo Burgundy, Kiwi Kiss, Regal Rose, Whisper White
  • Ink: Regal Rose, Kiwi Kiss
  • Accessories: Big Shot, Floral Fantasy EF, Stamp-a-ma-jig, Peel n' Stick Rhinestones, Snips, Dimensional, Glue Dot Kiwi Kiss Satin Ribbon, Sponge Dauber

Sneak Peek Swap - Hostess Set

I was asked to join a swap that had only one spot left. The spot was in a round where you had to use the new hostess sets. The only one left was for "Echoes of Kindness" which they knew I had because I posted a card on the Demo side of SCS made with that set. This swap was for demos and you could only use Stampin' Up! products. I made this Joy Fold card.

At left, you can see what the card looks like when it's open. The stamping is done right on the designer paper. These are fun cards to make and it sure worked out with this Level 2 Hostess Set. I'm glad you could stop by today!
  • Stamps: Echoes of Kindness, Always in My Thoughts
  • Papers: Pink Pirouette, Close to Cocoa, Whisper White, Pretty in Pink, Candy Lane DSP
  • Ink: Close To Cocoa; SU! Markers: Certainly Celery, Pretty In Pink
  • Accessories: Circle Punches: 1-1/4" and 1-3/8", Scallop Circle Punch, Pink Gingham Ribbon

Pink Thanks (Mojo70)

I really liked the Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge today. I think my circle is a bit larger than the sketch shows, but it works. The base card is Kiwi Kiss with a layer of Pink Pirouette Patterns Designer Paper that has been embossed. The horizontal strip is just white card stock with Kiwi Kiss Striped grosgrain ribbon. The circle is the reverse side of the designer paper that's embossed, and it's matted on a Kiwi Kiss scalloped circle. The main image was stamped with Black Stazon and colored with a Blender Pen and ink pads, then it was sponged using a dauber. Finally, the sentiment panel was stamped on white and punched with the Curly Label Punch. A recycled flower was added. I pulled that flower off of a card that was sent to me a couple of years ago. It had four of those pretty little ribbon flowers on it, now I have three! As a final touch, I added half pearls from the Pretties Kit. Thanks for stopping by today!!!
  • Stamps: Echoes of Kindness (Hostess Level 2), Cute & Curly
  • Papers: Kiwi Kiss, GP White, Pink Pirouette Patterns DSP
  • Ink: Black Stazon, Pink Pirouette, Pretty In Pink, Kiwi Kiss
  • Accessories: Big Shot, Circle and Scallop Circle Nesties, Cuttlebug D'Vine Swirls EF, Curly Label Punch, Sponge Dauber, Blender Pen, Pretties Kit Half Pearls, Glue Dot, Quick Dry Adhesive, Dimensionals

January 2009 Stamp Camp

This is going to be an "All Occassions" Stamp Camp. Project #1 is a Baby Card.
  • Stamps: Fun & Fast Notes, Short & Sweet
  • Papers: Certainly Celery, GP White
  • Ink: Certainly Celery and Certainly Celery Marker
  • Accessories: Big Shot, CB Swiss Dots EF, Nestabilities Rectangle and Scallop Rectangle, Word Window Punch, Celery GG Ribbon, Dimensionals
Project #2 is a Birthday Card. The main image was stamped three times: First, the whole cupcake with the candle; next, the frosting with the candle, and finally, just the candle. These were cut out and colored with markers. Each layer was popped up. The beads were glued on last.

  • Stamps: Crazy for Cupcakes
  • Papers: Yoyo Yellow, Brilliant Blue, GP White
  • Ink: Black Stazon, Real Red; Markers: Yoyo Yellow, Brilliant Blue, Real Red
  • Accessories: Big Shot, Nestabilities Oval and Scallop Oval, Dimensionals, Red Bead Duo
Project #3 is a Get Well Card. This was the third try at making this card! The first one was awful and the second one was too much trouble for a stamp camp. The DSP was embossed with the D'Vine Swirls embossing folder. The main image panel was sponged with a dauber. The embellishments in the lower right were punched with the 1/4" Circle Punch and then around that with the 1/2" Circle Punch.
  • Stamps: Pun Fun
  • Papers: Naturals White, Tempting Turquoise, GP White, Turquoise Prints DSP (retired)
  • Ink: Black Stazon, Tempting Turquoise
  • Accessories: Big Shot, CB D'Vine Swirls EF, 1/4" and 1/2" Circle Punches, Word Window Punch, Snips, Dimensionals

Project #4 is a Thinking of You type card. Again, I sponged the edeges of the main image panel and sentiment panel with a dauber.

  • Stamps: Upsy Daisy
  • Papers: Naturals White, Always Artichoke, Rose Red, GP White
  • Ink: Rose Red; Markers: Rose Red, Always Artichoke
  • Accessories: Dauber, Dimensionals

Project #5 is the Valentine card. The white panel is supposed to be embossed with the Heart Blocks folder but someone borrowed it, so I embossed this sample with Birds n' Swirls which works too. The heart in the envelope is removeable, so they can write on the back if they like.

  • Stamps: Love You Much
  • Papers: Real Red, GP White, Red Copy Paper (for the envelope)
  • Ink: Real Red
  • Accessories: Big Shot, CB Birds n' Swirls EF, Sizzix (SU!) Scallop Envelope Die, Snips, Dimensionals

Birthday Invitations

Wonder what I worked on yesterday? I made eight Birthday invitations. My son will be 14 next weekend and HE chose the Sock Monkey set and wanted the party hat on him and a banana in his hand. It seems a bit young for a 14 year old, but my son is kind of special and he hasn't had a real birthday party in years. We are going to get a bunch of frozen pizzas for the party and I'm going to make a homemade ice cream cake! He wants chocolate cake with Mint n' Chip ice cream. I will be so busy next weekend that I may not post for a few days. Anyway, this card has a Naturals White base card with a layer of Brilliant Blue that has been embossed with the Cuttlebug D'Vine Swirls embossing folder. The main image including the hat and banana were all water colored. The panel was matted on Riding Hood Red. The sentiment was stamped on Whisper White and matted on Riding Hood Red as well. Inside, it says, "You're Invited", and then it says, "Who, What, Where, When, and Why plus RSVP Please". Thanks for stopping by!
  • Stamps: Sock Monkey, All Year Cheer II (retired), On Your Birthday (sentiment), Mike's $1 stamp (inside)
  • Papers: Naturals White, Brilliant Blue, Riding Hood Red, Whisper White
  • Ink: Stazon Black
  • Accessories: Big Shot, CB D'Vine Swirls EF, WCW Crayons, Aqua Painter, Snips, Dimensionals

Angels (SC210)

Wednesday was Sketch Challenge day at SCS, but I got so busy doing other challenges and getting ready for my Thursday Nighters Club that I didn't get around to this one until now. Yesterday, I just had too much to do and didn't feel well by the end of the day. I'm back to it now though. I'm catching up plus I want to design all five cards for my Stamp Camp this weekend, so be ready for lots of posts!

The layout at the right is just one of the two options. This one is for an A2 size card. The other one was for a small 4-1/4" square card. The A2 worked better with the images I wanted to use. I have had this set for some time, but I don't think I've used it yet. I sure used a lot of accessories to get that little angel done! I stamped with Black Stazon; then, I went over the halo with Gold Zig Painty and the wings with Silver. I water colored her hair and dress. I used the 2-Way Glue Pen and Dazzling Diamonds to finish off the wings. I used a marker on the flower on the other panel and added a tiny peel n' stick rhinestone to the center.
  • Stamps: If the Halo Fits
  • Papers: Pink Passion, Whisper White, Sweet Always DSP
  • Ink: Black Stazon, Pink Passion Marker, Zig Painty (Gold and Silver)
  • Accessories: Big Shot, Cuttlebug D'Vine Swirls EF, WCW Crayons, Aqua Painter, 2-Way Glue Pen, Dazzling Diamonds, Peel n' Stick Rhinestone

Just a Note (VSLFL4)

This is the final sketch challenge from the Verve Stamps people for this week. The challenges (one color challenge and three sketches) were all called, "Looking for Love" in honor of their new release coming soon. The base card here is Bashful Blue. The designer paper is Bashful Blue Prints (retired) and there's a strip of Basic Black. The ribbon is Basic Gray Taffeta, the main panel is Whisper White, and the mat is Going Gray. The brads are Vintage Brads. Everything is from Stampin' Up! except for the Nestabilities used to cut the main panel and mat. Thanks for visiting today!

  • Ink: Basic Black
  • Accessories: Big Shot, Labels Nesties, Basic Gray Taffeta Ribbon, Vintage Brads, Dimensionals

January 2009 Club Projects

For Project #1, I used the sketch from Day 2 of the Verve "Looking for Love" Challenges except that I eliminated the rhinestones and used the Cuttlebug border embossing folder from the "With Love" set on the right side of the card. The rest is exactly the same. I did use one tiny peel n' stick rhinestone in the center of the little heart.

  • Papers: Rose Red, Whisper White, Regal Rose, Candy Lane DSP
  • Ink: Rose Red
  • Accessories: Big Shot, CB With Love Border EF, Rectangle and Scallop Rectangle Nesties, Stamp-a-ma-jig, Rose Red GG Ribbon, Peel n' Stick Rhinestone, Dimensionals
Project #2 was requested by a lady who can't be at club tonight! She wanted to learn how to make these bikini cards so she could give them to women on Chemo therapy for breast cancer (she's been through it). I picked the Rose Red Prints DSP (retired) because I wanted to use polka dots, but everyone will use different colors. On the inside, it says: "A friend is like a good bra: Hard to find, Supportive, Comfortable, Always lifts you up, Never lets you down or leaves you hanging, and is always close to your heart!!! I think they will have fun making these. Thanks for visiting my blog today!!!
  • Papers: Blush Blossom, Prints Pack DSP (retired)

Thank You (CC200, ssnotime68)

Yesterday was so busy for me with lots of errands and appointments, so I didn't even get a chance to stamp! I intend to make up for that today! Yesterday's Color Challenge was really tough. The colors were Pumpkin Pie, Garden Green and Brilliant Blue. It was hard to make a card that didn't look like either a Green Bay Packers' fan or a Chicago Bears' fan made it! Sharon's (notimetostamp) Simply Stamping Challenge was to make a Thank You card. The base card here is Garden Green (top fold) with a layer of Whisper White that has been stamped with Pumpkin Pie, colored with Garden Green and Brilliant Blue Markers, and embossed with the Cuttlebug "Stylized Flowers" folder. The sentiment was stamped with Brilliant Blue and punched out with the Wide Oval Punch. The scalloped mat was done with Nestabilities, and the panel was popped up on a Dimensional. The ribbon is Pumpkin Pie grosgrain ribbon. Thanks for stopping by. I'll be back with more posts later.

Friendship (Mojo68)

There's even a special blog for the Mojo Monday Sketches now! They've come a long way, baby!! Even though I should learn how to do new techniques, I've gotten to where I like to do these sketch challenges rather than the Monday Technique Lover's Challenge. I guess I should try both when I have the time.
The Mojo Monday sketch is shown at left.
My base card is Riding Hood Red with a layer of Basic Black and then a layer of Prints Pack Pretty In Pink designer paper. The main image was stamped on Whisper White and colored with SU! Markers. I like that half circle with the ribbon knot on the main image panel. I'm sure I'll use that again! I have a strip of Riding Hood Red that was stamped with "Beautiful Borders" in Basic Black. The "Friendship" sentiment came from "Celebrate Everything". I used the small and large oval punches instead of the wide oval so that I wouldn't cover all the pretty stamping from the "Beautiful Borders". I also moved my brads from the strip to below the strip for the same reason. Thanks so much for visiting my blog!
  • Stamps: Eastern Influences, Beautiful Borders, Celebrate Everything (sentiment)
  • Papers: Riding Hood Red, Basic Black, Whisper White, Pretty In Pink DSP from Prints Pack (Level 1 Hostess, 2008 Spring/Summer)
  • Ink: Basic Black; Markers: Pretty In Pink, Garden Green, Chocolate Chip
  • Accessories: Ticket Corner Punch, 1-1/4" and 1-3/8" Circle Punches, Large and Small Oval Punches, Vintage Brads, Pretty In Pink Taffeta Ribbon

Embossed Flowers (VSLFL1)

OK, this is another Color Challenge! Don't even ask me how I find these things! LOL! The colors were supposed to be Kraft, Blush Blossom, and Riding Hood Red. These are SU! colors but the challenge came from the Verve Stamps people. Other vendors have certain areas on SCS where they can post information about new releases, contests, and challenges. I don't have any Verve stamps, but I love to do the challenges! The base card is Kraft with a layer of Kraft designer paper from the Patterns Pack (Level 1 Hostess, Fall/Winter 2008). The designer paper was embossed with Stylized Flowers embossing folder. The ribbon is Kraft Taffeta. The ovals and scalloped oval were done with Nestabilities. I stamped the image with Sahara Sand (which is close to Kraft) on Whisper White and colored it with markers. I used Crystal Effects on the flower pot and embossed the little punched flowers. I sponged the main image oval with Blush Blossom. Thanks for stopping by; I'll be back!!!
  • Stamps: Always in My Thoughts
  • Papers: Kraft, Riding Hood Red, Blush Blossom, Whisper White, Kraft DSP (Level 1 Hostess)
  • Ink: Sahara Sand, Blush Blossom, White Gel Pen; Markers: Sahara Sand, Blush Blossom, Mellow Moss
  • Accessories: Big Shot, CB Stylized Flowers EF, Oval and Scallop Oval Nesties, Glue Dots, Dimensionals, Flower Trio Punch, Mat Pack, Embossing Stylus, Crystal Effects, Kraft Taffeta Ribbon, Sponge

DGC's (SBSC171)

This week's Scrap Book Sketch Challenge worked out well for the two photos of my grand children that I got at Christmas. The photo at the right shows the layout. I reduced it to fit my 8-1/2" X 8-1/2" chipboard scrap book.
All the pages in this particular scrap book have a scalloped outside edge and titles that are four letters or less. DGCs is the online abbreviation for Darling Grand Children, so that worked for this book. That's not designer paper in the background. I used a 3/4" punch and punched out all those squares and adhered them to the page before adding the matted photos! It was fun though. Thanks for visiting! By the way, I lost a subscriber who put the reason: "Content no longer relevant." I think it might be because I've had a lot of scrap booking pages lately. If you are a subscriber to this blog and prefer seeing more cards than scrap book pages, please leave me a comment, and I'll try to do better! My blog subtitle says, "Card Making & Scrapbooking", so you must expect at least SOME scrapping here! Thanks again!!!
  • Papers: GP White, Orchid Opulence, Pink Passion, Bashful Blue
  • Ink: White Gel Pen
  • Accessories: Cricket, Stamped Cartridge, Snips, Adhesive, 3/4" Square Punch

Sophisticated Bloom (FS100)

Today's Featured Stamper was Julie (JulieHRR). It was so hard to choose a card to CASE! I started looking in her gallery last night and never decided on a particular card. This morning I finally settled on the one shown at the right. Hers is called, "Sophisticated Sunflower", so I called mine "Sophisticated Bloom" since I used the Eastern Blooms flower.
Julie uses note cards fairly often that have color on the outside and white on the inside. I have a box of textured card fronts in several different colors. Some are scalloped, some are rick racked, and some are plain. I used a pink scalloped one on a white base card. The designer paper is "Berry Bliss" (retired). I inked up the flower using markers, huffed and stamped. I used tinted embossing ink on the whole piece and embossed with clear embossing powder. I added Frosted Lace Stickles to the flower center and popped up the panel on Dimensionals. The butterfly was stamped, cut out and adhered with a glue dot. The ribbon is Pretty In Pink Taffeta Ribbon. Thanks for visiting today!
  • Stamps: Eastern Blooms, Flight of the Butterfly
  • Papers: Whisper White, Pink Textured Card Front, Close to Cocoa, Berry Bliss DSP
  • Ink: SU! Markers: Close to Cocoa, Pretty In Pink, Regal Rose
  • Accessories: Tinted Embossing Ink, Clear EP, Heat Tool, Frosted Lace Stickles, Snips, Dimensionals, Pretty In Pink Taffeta Ribbon

Love with Hugs & Kisses (OCCC)

I found yet another Sketch Challenge! The layout at left shows the sketch from Our Creative Corner. I think this one is offered every Saturday. Pretty soon, we'll be able to do sketch challenges every day!! LOL! I'm lovin' it!!!
I used the new Valentine Bundle again to create this card. I used the stamp set and the designer paper. The base card is Riding Hood Red. The designer paper is Candy Lane. The scallop circle piece was stamped, cut out, and adhered to a punched scalloped circle. It was popped up, too. I colored the "Love" with a Blender Pen and ink pad. I used the Scallop Edge Border Punch at the bottom. The only non-SU! items are the Cuttlebug die cut corner embellishment and the rhinestone in the center of the little flower. Thanks so much for stopping by today!!!
  • Stamps: Love You Much
  • Papers: Riding Hood Red, Whisper White, Candy Lane DSP
  • Ink: Riding Hood Red
  • Accessories: Big Shot, Cuttlebug "Vintage" Die Cut, Snips, Scallop Circle Punch, Blender Pen, Riding Hood Red Taffeta Ribbon, Dimensional, 2-Way Glue Pen, Scallop Edge Border Punch

New Toys!

One of my friends came over this afternoon to place her club order for next Thursday, and she brought a Cuttlebug combo embossing folder and die set that she had gotten as a duplicate. Well, I bought it from her. I don't have any of those combo sets, but I'm sure I'll get more! This one is called "Everyday Greetings" and it has five phrases such as, "Congrats", "Hello", "I'm Thinking of you", etc. The embossing folder has flowers placed in such a way that any of the phrases fits in the lower right. These make for some quickie cards! I just added the half pearl from the Pretties Kit and some 1/4" sheer ribbon tied in a bow. That's it! I adhered the embossed card front to a white base card and I was done!
  • Papers: Naturals White, Whisper White, Soft Sky (retired)
  • Accessories: Big Shot, Cuttlebug Everyday Greetings EF/Die Set, Pretties Kit, Ribbon, 2-Way Glue Pen, Glue Dot

Hearts (VLVJan01)

There's a new challenge called Viva la Verve! It's really meant for Verve stamps to be used (if you have them), but I wanted to do the sketch anyway. They say that anyone can play, even if you don't have any Verve stamps, so here I am!!! There's a twist to the challenge: You must use some hardware on your card.
There's a Stampin' Up! promotion right now where you get 20% off of a Valentine bundle. The bundle includes Candy Lane Designer Paper, "Love You Much" stamp set, and the new Hearts Punch. I used all of the above to create this card. The hearts were stamped and punched out with the new punch. They are popped up and so is the scalloped circle. I added a piece of the DSP to the left front of the envelope as well. My hardware is the three red heart brads. I'm looking forward to doing this Sketch Challenge With a Twist every Friday! Thanks for visiting my blog!!!
  • Stamps: Love You Much
  • Papers: Naturals White, Riding Hood Red, Whisper White, Candy Lane DSP
  • Ink: Riding Hood Red, White Gel Pen
  • Accessories: 1-1/4" and 1-3/8" Circle Punches, Scallop Circle Punch, Hearts Punch, Dimensionals, Heart Brads, Riding Hood Red Taffeta Ribbon

Say It In Silver! (WT199)

No, this is not a black and white photo! LOL! The Ways To Use It Challenge this week was to incorporate silver into our designs. I started with a Going Gray base card on which I lined the inside with white. I added a 4" X 5-1/4" piece of DCWV "The Glitter Stack". This piece is in shades of gray with lots of silver glitter. Before I added the piece to the base card, I added a silver metallic ribbon and knot. The sentiment was stamped on a piece that was cut on the Big Shot with my new Labels Nestabilities. It was embossed with silver embossing powder and the panel was popped up on Dimensionals. I think I covered the silver requirement for THIS challenge!! LOL! Thanks for stopping by today!!

SBSC170 Page 2

This is the opposing page for the last sketch I did. I didn't use the sketch again, but I used the same straw DP and the tabs and brads at the bottom right. I did some stamping on this one. I used Pun Fun for the hippo, Zoofari for the zebra, Under the Stars for the polar bear, and a $1 Store stamp for the elephant and baby. I colored where necessary, cut them out, and adhered them to the strip on the right. I used my Cricket and the ZooBalloo cartridge for the title. The title and journaling says: H is for hippo... under the sun, Z is for zebras, but there's only one! P is for polar bear catching some z's, E is for elephants with wrinkled knees! Yeah, I got a bit whimsical with that! LOL! Thanks for visiting today!!! Now I'm really off to make some cards!!!
