Punched Butterfly (StampinB #15)

Over at Stampin' B's Design Team, the hostess for this week's challenge was Lois (aka Clownmom). She challenged us to use a butterfly on our project. More details are on the Stampin' B's Design Team blog. I started this card yesterday morning but got sick and didn't finish it until today. The base card and scallop oval mat are Almost Amethyst, the white is Whisper White, and the green is Kiwi Kiss. The white layer is embossed with a Stampin' Up! Texturz Plate (Eyelet), the leaves were die cut with SU!'s Little Leaves Sizzlit, and the flowers were punched with the Flower Trio Punch and then sponged and embossed. The butterfly was stamped and then punched out with the new Butterfly Punch from SU! Thanks again for stopping by!

CASEing Diane (FS128)

Diane (aka minnidr) is this week's Featured Stamper. She created this beautiful card. She used a technique (Water Color Roses) which can be found here. It's a great tutorial. The only changes I made were the colors used on the rose, my leaves were stamped and cut out, and my sentiment is different. All products used to make this card are from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!

Twisted Sistahs Challenge (TSC0717)

The challenge was to use only black, brown or gray for a neutral color...NO white, ivory, or vanilla. I'm the newbie in the Twisted Sistahs Group, but they used my suggestion for this challenge. Talk about acceptance!! I'm still howling at the moon at 2:00 AM until Tuesday! (It's a long story, LOL!) This is a very simple card, really. I just used a combination of Chocolate Chip card stock, Pink Pirouette Designer Series Paper, and Holiday Happenings Designer Series Paper. Everything used to make this card is from Stampin' Up! except for the Nestabilities and the border punch. Thanks again for stopping by!!
  • Stamps: Pocket Silhouettes
  • Papers: Chocolate Chip, Pink Pirouette DSP, Holiday Happenings DSP
  • Ink: Chocolate Chip
  • Accessories: Big Shot, Label Four Nesties, MS Border Punch, Pretty In Pink Taffeta Ribbon

Friend (LSC229)

This is for today's Limited Supplies Challenge. We were to use either our wedding colors or our school colors, and we were to use either staples, or clips, or photo turns. I went with my high school colors (red, black, white) and the clip. The base card is Naturals White. The designer paper is matted on Basic Black, and the top portion is embossed. The main image is stamped with Black Stazon on the white card stock from the designer paper package. The image is colored with markers. I can't remember which set the tag stamp came from. I think I have three sets all mixed up in a punch box tin. One set came with the tag punch and some ink spots in the tin. One set was a hostess set, and the other set was a tag set from a few years ago. All products used to make this card are from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!
  • Stamps: Friends 24-7, Tag Stamp (SU!)
  • Papers: Naturals White, Basic Black, Whisper White, Real Red, White CS from DSP package, Prints Pack (Real Red) (Retired)
  • Ink: Black Stazon, Real Red; SU! Markers: Real Red, Going Gray, Garden Green, Black Journaler
  • Accessories: Big Shot, Backgrounds #1 Texturz Plate (Eyelet), Small and Large Tag Punches, Black Gingham Ribbon, Mini Library Clip, Dimensionals

July Ladies' Night Out Club Projects

Project #1 is a birthday card, and it's the same as the card we made for the Thursday Niters except that this one is a gift card holder.
This photo shows the inside of the card with a fake gift card in the middle. We've done these before, but some of the ladies haven't had a chance to learn how to do them and have requested that I demonstrate this type of gift card holder. All products used to make this card are from Stampin' Up!
  • Stamps: Lots of Bots
  • Papers: Bermuda Bay, Yoyo Yellow, Whisper White, Holiday Happenings DSP (retired)
  • Ink: Black Stazon

Project #2 is also for today's Ways To Use It Challenge: Seeing Double. We were to use two "somethings" on our card. I love making these embossed, layered flowers, so I CASEd my own layout from Tuesday's Color Challenge. Everything used to make this card is from Stampin' Up! except for the Nestability and brads. Thanks for stopping by!!

Happy (SC237)

This is for the Sketch Challenge on Splitcoast. The base card is Sahara Sand. Next is Delicate Dots Designer Series Paper (DSP) on a Bashful Blue mat. The horizontal strip is the other side of the same DSP also matted on Bashful Blue. The main image panel is Whisper White on Bashful Blue. The image was stamped with Sahara Sand, and the flowers were highlighted with a So Saffron Marker. A yellow-green rhinestone was added to the one flower and the sentiment was stamped with Versamark, then Sahara Sand and embossed with Crystal Clear embossing powder (EP). One corner of the main image panel is pierced and all four corners of the base card are pierced. The inside is lined with white with a strip of the DSP at the bottom. All products used to make this card are from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!!

Hello! (CC227)

Today's Color Challenge, hosted by NANCYRUTH, was to use Lavender Lace, Barely Banana, Going Gray, Black, and White. The base card here is Lavender Lace with a layer of Whisper White that has been embossed with Backgrounds #1 Texturz Plate (Small Dots). The two white die cut panels were cut from the white card stock that comes with the Designer Series Paper. I've been using that a lot lately. The edges are sponged, and I did just a bit of paper piercing. The leaves were cut using Little Leaves Sizzlit and Going Gray card stock. The flowers were cut using Birds & Blooms Sizzlits and Barely Banana card stock. Both leaves and flowers were also sponged with Lavender Lace. I stamped the sentiment with Lavender Lace, but I meant to use Basic Black. The panel was done, so I used Vintage Brads for the flower centers to get that black in there! Everything is from Stampin' Up! except for the Labels 4 Nestability. Thanks for stopping by!!
  • Stamps: Fundamental Phrases
  • Papers: Lavender Lace, Whisper White, Going Gray, Barely Banana, White CS from DSP package
  • Ink: Lavender Lace
  • Accessories: Big Shot, Backgrounds #1 Texturz Plate (Small Dots), Labels 4 Nesties, Birds & Blooms Sizzlits, Little Leaves Sizzlit, Sponge, Mat Pack, Piercer, Vintage Brads, Dimensionals, Pop-up Glue Dots

Giraffe Minus Monkeys (CAS23)

I didn't think my other card was Clean & Simple enough, so I made another one for the CAS Challenge. I still used the Art for Children category. The print I chose this time may be found here. As you can see, their giraffe had monkeys crawling all over it; mine is minus the monkeys!

The main image was stamped with Crushed Curry with the spots colored in with Melon Mambo Marker; then, it was cut out and adhered to a More Mustard rectangle which is matted on a Melon scallop rectangle. I embossed the lower right with a mini Cuttlebug embossing folder and added Melon Ribbon with a knot. Now, this one IS clean and simple! Thanks for stopping by again!!
  • Stamps: Animal Stories
  • Papers: Crushed Curry, Melon Mambo, More Mustard
  • Ink: Crushed Curry, Melon Mambo Marker
  • Accessories: Big Shot, CB Mini EF, Rectangle and Scallop Rectangle Nesties, Melon Mambo Polka Dot GG Ribbon, Dimensionals

Wish (CAS23)

The Clean & Simple Challenge today was an inspiration challenge based on posters, etc. at www.artwork.com. I chose this print. The base card is Bashful Blue. I sponged the Whisper White layer with Bashful Blue and Lavender Lace. The balloons were punched with the Small Star Punch and 3/4" Circle Punch. The elephant was stamped with Pretty In Pink, cut out and popped up. The sentiment was stamped with Brilliant Blue on Whisper White, punched out with the Word Window Punch, and layered on a Bashful Blue piece that was punched with the new Modern Label Punch; then, it was also popped up. All products used to make this card are from Stampin' Up! Thanks again for stopping by!!
  • Stamps: Short & Sweet
  • Papers: Bashful Blue, Whisper White, Yoyo Yellow, Real Red, Glorious Green, Brilliant Blue, Rich Razzleberry
  • Ink: Bashful Blue, Lavender Lace, Brilliant Blue, White Gel Pen
  • Accessories: 3/4" Circle, Small Star, Word Window, and Modern Label Punches, Snips, Sponge, Dimensionals, Thread

For the Newlyweds (FS127)

This week's Featured Stamper is Kelly (aka Schirmcat). Here's her card that inspired me. Instead of punching out the shape, adhering it to the front of the card and adding the flowers around it, I used the new Movers & Shapers Heart Die from Stampin' Up to cut out the heart on the card front. I used the Large Heart Punch from SU! for the heart on the inside of the card and popped it up on Dimensionals. I lined the inside (back) with Barely Banana before adding the popped up heart. Instead of brads, I used pearls for the flower centers, and instead of the eyelet piece, I punched a strip with the Eyelet Border Punch. I used a scrap of yellow ribbon from the Ribbon Originals (retired). All products used to make this card are from Stampin' Up! except for the mini half pearls. Thanks for stopping by!
  • Stamps: Teeny Tiny Wishes
  • Papers: Whisper White, Barely Banana
  • Ink: Basic Black, Barely Banana
  • Accessories: Big Shot, Movers & Shapers XL Die w/Heart Die, Heart Punch, Sponge, Dimensionals, Mat Pack, Stylus, Mini Half Pearls, Eyelet Border Punch, Ribbon, Backgrounds #1 Texturz Plate (Small Dots)

I'm Back!!!

We went camping over the weekend. We left Friday about 1:30 PM and went to a local reservoir which is only about 20 minutes away. We went swimming on Saturday and I got a sunburn on my face. I forgot to use the sun block! It's my own fault. On Saturday evening, it got very windy. I don't know the wind speed, but it almost blew our tent down! When it died down a bit, we started hauling things to the car and my friend's truck. We didn't care whose stuff was what at that point. We had a hard time folding the tent, so we just rolled it up and stuffed it into the car. The dark clouds were building up in the west, so we thought it might rain, too. We got home at around 8:30 PM Saturday night. Boy, were we tired!! Yesterday, we just laid around and watched TV all day! I found the Featured Stamper card I wanted to do but had no energy to make it. I made it this morning though. It will be in my next post. I'm glad to be home, but we did enjoy ourselves!!

I'm Yours (TSC0710)

I saw a couple of cards done with last week's Twisted Sistah's Challenge and they sparked my interest. I sent a private message on Splitcoast and asked some questions. I was invited to join this fun group on their thread where they chat and I was also invited to participate in this week's challenge. What a great group!! This card is for this week's challenge to make a humorous card with the name of a song as the title. I happen to like the song, "I'm Yours" by Jason Mraz. You can see a live performance of the song I like on U-Tube here. I received this image from someone on Splitcoast, but I can't remember who. Isn't that awful?!! I need to start writing names on the back of images I receive from friends on Splitcoast! Anyway, the image is from Whipper Snapper. Can you feel the passion?!!! He's thinking, "I'll be makin' bacon real soon!" and she's thinking, "I'm yours, ya big hunk!" LOL! This was sure a fun challenge!!! Thanks again for stopping by!

I just embossed the white layer with Sizzix Christmas Trees Texturz Plate, added the foam tree sticker and plastic star, and I colored the "Happy" with a Water Color Pencil and blended with an Aqua Painter. I also went over "holidays" with the gold end of the Zig Painty. Thanks for stopping by!!

  • Ink: Black Stazon, Zig Painty
