Make A Wish (HMMC31)

You make a wish with candles on a cake, so it makes sense for this little guy to have a candle in a piece of cheese! This is for the House Mouse Monday Challenge which was to make a box or a bag. I used the new XL Matchbox Die available in the Occasions Mini Catalog. These little boxes are perfect for four chocolate nuggets. The box was cut from Certainly Celery and so was the scallop oval mat. The cover and wrappers for the nuggets were made with Delicate Dots (2009 Sale-a-Bration) Designer Paper. The oval is Whisper White. I borrowed some House Mouse stamps from a friend and stamped off several images from each stamp. I should have written the names down, sorry! Thanks for stopping by!
  • Stamps: House Mouse
  • Papers: Certainly Celery, Whisper White, Delicate Dots DSP (2009 SAB)
  • Ink: Black Stazon
  • Accessories: WCW Crayons, Aqua Painter, Big Shot, XL Matchbox Die, Oval and Scallop Oval Nesties

Know That I Care (CC212, TECC61)

This card is a challenge combo. First, today's Color Challenge on Splitcoaststampers.com was to use Pink Pirouette, Chocolate Chip, and Riding Hood Red. The sketch is Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge #61. The main image (sentiment) is embossed in this manner: Ink stamp with Versamark, then ink with Riding Hood Red (just press stamp into pad once), emboss with Clear Embossing Powder. All products used to make this card are from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!
  • Stamps: Thoughts and Prayers
  • Papers: Riding Hood Red, Whisper White, Chocolate Chip, Pink Pirouette Patterns DSP

Raspberry Tart Flowers (Mojo80)

What do I like about Mondays? The Mojo Monday sketch, of course! Go to the Mojo Monday Blog to see the layout for this week's sketch challenge. I started with a Cameo Coral base card. The Kiwi Kiss piece is embossed with the Cuttlebug "With Love" Border embossing folder and matted on white. The ribbon is Rose Red grosgrain. The Raspberry Tart Designer Paper is also matted on white. The main image is stamped with Cameo Coral on white and colored in with the Rose Red Marker with the edges being sponged with Cameo Coral. The pearls are Peel n' Stick pearls from the wedding section at WalMart. Thanks for stopping by today!

Birthday Gift Tags (FS112)

This week's Featured Stamper is Michelle (aka Justpaintingaround). She has a fabulous gallery with cards I wouldn't even try to CASE! She does lots of scenes on her cards.

I finally settled on the gift tag shown at the right. I changed the theme from Christmas to birthday, changed the colors and the stamps. I made two tags; one for a boy and one for a girl. I thought my daughter might be able to use these with three kids going to birthday parties all the time! I used circle and scalloped circle Nestabilities. I stamped the image twice, colored one, cut it out, and then popped it up on Dimensionals. I colored the image with SU! Markers. All products used to make these tags are from Stampin' Up! except for the Nestabilities. Thanks for stopping by!
  • Stamps: Crazy for Christmas
  • Papers: Bashful Blue, Pretty In Pink, Certainly Celery, Whisper White
  • Ink: Black Stazon, SU! Markers - Soft Subtles
  • Accessories: Big Shot, Circle and Scallop Circle Nesties, Snips, Dimensionals, Bashful Blue Striped GG Ribbon, Pretty In Pink Taffeta Ribbon, Silver Cord (retired), 1/8" Circle Punch

Gifts for Gammers (SBSC183)

I like Sally's sketch a lot this week. I like being able to use four photos of different sizes.

Sally's layout is shown at the right. I used DCWV Textured Card Stock Pack - Brights for the background and DCWV Christmas Stack for the horizontal and vertical strips. The matting is Real Red and the journaling circle is So Saffron. The Christmas trees are foam stickers I got at Christmas time. I knew I'd use them for something! I used two sizes of circle Nestabilities for the journaling circle and matting. I'm going to use the exact layout and colors for my next page which I'm excited to do because the photos are funny! Thanks for visiting my blog today!!

Thinking of Tiger Lilies (IC173)

For the Inspiration Challenge today, we were to go to Glenda Mosher's blog and check out her art gallery. She is REALLY talented! If you visit her gallery, you will find several sold paintings in the right hand column. I was inspired by the one called Tiger Lily I. It's the 6th one down and it's a 6 X 6 acrylic on canvas. It's hard to make a card that will do her paintings justice. I stamped the image with Black Stazon and colored with ink pads and a Blender Pen. I tried at least! This card was created with all Stampin' Up! products. Thanks for stopping by!!
  • Stamps: Fifth Avenue Floral, Three Little Words
  • Papers: Basic Black, Whisper White, Old Olive Prints DSP (retired)
  • Ink: Black Stazon, Tangerine Tango, More Mustard, Summer Sun, Old Olive, Basic Black
  • Accessories: Blender Pen, Word Window Punch, Dimensionals

Finally! (Tamara LS88)

You have to go back to Monday to find this weekly Layout Sketch on Sketches by Tamara. I had a busy day on Monday, and then I've been busy getting ready for my stamp camp. I still have another session this morning, but I got up early and did a little scrapping. This layout worked perfectly for the three photos I had of my son opening his gift from his sister and brother-in-law. I'm almost finished with my Christmas photos! Yay! Thanks for visiting my blog today. Later on, I might be able to find time to do a card!
  • Papers: DCWV Christmas Pack, Real Red, Old Olive
  • Ink: White Gel Pen
  • Accessories: Big Shot, Sizzix Night and Day Alphabet Set and Holly w/Berries Die

Picking Flowers (SASSC8)

It's Thursday! I love it! That's when we have the weekly sketch challenge from Stamps and Smiles! This week's sketch is shown at the right. It's a great layout for using designer papers.
I was going to use one of the adorable bunny stamps that I won from Stamps and Smiles, but I decided to use some retired "In-Color" card stock and retired designer paper and this image instead. I also wanted to make this an SUO (Stampin' Up! Only) card. I made this a big 5-3/8" square card which fits into Stampin' Up!'s Medium Square Envelopes. The base card is River Rock (remember that?) and so is the mat behind the main image panel. Next comes a layer of Soft Sky. Both of those card stocks are textured. The designer paper is Porcelain Prints (I loved that DSP!). The main image is stamped with Black Stazon on Very Vanilla. I water colored the image with Water Color Wonder Crayons (Soft Subtles and Earth Elements) using an Aqua Painter. I used a Basic Black Marker for the shoes. The three little embossed flowers were punched with the Flower Trio Punch out of a scrap of Soft Sky card stock. I embossed them and added the white centers with the Signo White Gel Pen. The ribbon is Very Vanilla Taffeta. All products used to make this card are from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by today!!
  • Stamps: A Kind Word
  • Papers: River Rock TCS, Soft Sky TCS, River Rock, Soft Sky, Very Vanilla, Porcelain Prints DSP
  • Ink: Black Stazon, White Gel Pen, Basic Black Marker
  • Accessories: WCW Crayons, Aqua Painter, Flower Trio Punch, Mat Pack, Embossing Stylus, 2-Way Glue Pen, Very Vanilla Taffeta Ribbon, Dimensionals

Altered Coffee Drink Tin

My friend's birthday was Saturday and I missed it! I felt so bad. She's always there to help me get ready for clubs and stamp camps; how could I miss her birthday?!!! I just had to find something to make for her. I saved a couple of these International Coffee Drink Mix tins. I thought they'd make nice containers for buttons, large brads, or other small items. I decided to pretty one up for Sarah!!!
I used some "Cutie Pie" designer paper (retired, sadly) and covered the outside of the tin and part of the top of the lid. This was an easy item to alter. I also stamped with one of the "Yummy" (2009 SAB) stamps, cut it out, and adhered with Glue Dot Runner (so that it wouldn't be permanent). I wanted her to be able to remove my label and maybe add her own telling what's inside.
I used Hershey's Nuggets with almonds to fill the tin. Twenty-four nuggets seemed just the right amount. I made labels with her name on them and tried to match the polka dots on my labels to the ones on the designer paper. I think they turned out really cute. I already have a belated birthday card to give to her with this little gift! (I need to keep some of those around!) Thanks for stopping by today!!!

Punch Art Bunny (CC211)

This card was for the Color Challenge to use Pretty In Pink, Kiwi Kiss, and Baja Breeze. I don't know where I saw a bunny like this, but it was online somewhere. I'm not even sure I used the right punches, but it turned out OK! We're going to make a card for stamp camp that has a punch art bunny on it. This card has a Baja Breeze base card with a layer of Kiwi Kiss that was embossed with a Backgrounds #1 Texturz Plate. The finished bunny is popped up on Dimensionals and the ribbon is Pretty In Pink Taffeta. All products used to create this card are from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!!
  • Stamps: An Egg-cellent Easter (sentiment only)
  • Papers: Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss, Whisper White, Pretty In Pink
  • Ink: Pretty In Pink (sponging), Basic Black (sentiment), Basic Black Marker (fine tip)
  • Accessories: Big Shot, Backgrounds #1 Texturz Plate, Wide Oval Punch, Large Oval Punch, Small Oval Punch, Word Window Punch, 1/8" Circle Punch, 1/2" Circle Punch, Pretty In Pink Taffeta Ribbon

Dream a Little (Mojo79)

This card was made for the Mojo Monday Sketch. You can see the actual layout on the Mojo Monday Sketch Blog. I haven't used Old Olive in a while! I thought I would take a break from the Soft Subtles. The base card here is Old Olive with a layer of Whisper White that was embossed with the SU! Backgrounds #1 Texturz Plate, Damask. Actually, it's almost the very same pattern as the designer paper. I used the "Dream a Little" (Level 3 Hostess) set for the flower, sentiment and bird. The bird is popped up on a Dimensional. All products used to create this card are from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!
  • Stamps: Dream a Little (Level 3 Hostess)

CASEing Beate! (FS111)

This week's Featured Stamper is Beate! I can't believe she hasn't already been the Featured Stamper! She's like the Queen of SCS!!! Everyone has seen her tutorials. They even have an "Ask Beate" section of the Weekly Inkling!

Her card that I chose to CASE (Copy And Show Elsewhere) is shown at the right. I changed the colors which includes the card stock, papers and ribbon. I changed the sentiment and didn't pierce around the sentiment panel (I forgot!). I also embossed the little flowers and just used white gel pen for the centers instead of brads. This one had a lot of piercing! All products used to make this card are from Stampin' Up! except for the Nestabilities. Thanks for visiting today!!!
  • Stamps: Embrace Life, All Holidays
  • Papers: Certainly Celery, So Saffron, Barely Banana, Whisper White, Tea Party DSP
  • Ink: Versamark, Certainly Celery, Almost Amethyst, White Gel Pen, Amethyst Marker
  • Accessories: Big Shot, Rectangle and Scallop Rectangle Nesties, Sponge, Heat Tool, 2-Way Glue Pen, Mat Pack, Piercer, Ticket Corner Punch, Large Oval Punch, Designer Label Punch, 1" Circle Punch, So Saffron 5/8" GG Ribbon (2009 SAB Ribbon Bundle), Pretties Kit, Dimensionals

Easter Wishes (LSC212)

I made this card yesterday and posted it to SCS, but I got busy with last night's club and forgot to upload it to my blog. Well, here it is now! For the Limited Supplies Challenge, we were to use soft, spring colors and our main image was to be a spring flower. In keeping with the idea of "Limited Supplies", I used up some scraps on this one. I had a scrap of: Water Color Paper, Pale Plum Card Stock, Whisper White Card Stock, and Tea Party Designer Series Paper (DSP). The DSP wasn't long enough to cover most of the card, just leaving a border, so I added the strip of Whisper White which I punched with the Eyelet Border Punch. It works! All products used to create this card are from Stampin' Up! Thanks for visiting today! I hope to be back later to post another card for today.
  • Stamps: Botanical Blooms (2009 SAB)
  • Papers: Pale Plum, Whisper White, Water Color Paper, Tea Party DSP
  • Ink: Handsome Hunter, Pale Plum, Barely Banana Marker
  • Accessories: Eyelet Border Punch, Whisper White Taffeta Ribbon, Dimensionals

Sweetness (WT210, SASSC7)

The Ways To Use It Challenge was to use stickers on our projects. I like these challenges that get me looking through my stash because you never know what I'm going to find! I found a couple of pages of sentiment stickers and used "Sweetness" right on the ribbon.

I also used the Thursday sketch from Stamps and Smiles. The sketch layout is shown at the right. I also got to use one of the stamp sets that I won from Stamps and Smiles. This one is called "Cuppy Love." I made my card a small 4-1/4" square card. The base is Pink Pirouette, and the patterned paper is Pink Pirouette Patterns Designer Paper. The horizontal piece is the Pink Pirouette Striped Grosgrain Ribbon with the sticker sentiment on it. The scallop circle is a Bigz Die I got from Stampin' Up! In fact pretty much everything on this card is from Stampin' Up! except for the stamp set, the sticker, and the liquid applique. Thanks for visiting my blog today!
  • Stamps: Stamps and Smiles - Cuppy Love
  • Papers: Pink Pirouette, Whisper White, Pink Pirouette Patterns DSP
  • Ink: Black Stazon, Pretty In Pink Marker (for the little heart)
  • Accessories: Big Shot, Circles Scallop #2 Die, 1/16" Punch, Snips, WCW Crayons, Aqua Painter, Dimensionals, Pink Pirouette Striped GG Ribbon, Sentiment Sticker, Liquid Applique

Congrats (SC220)

For today's Sketch Challenge, I got to use a lot of scraps. I've been using a lot of the Delicate Dots Sale-A-Bration designer paper lately, and I have tons of scraps. The papers are actually two sides of two papers and one side of a third, all from the same package of designer paper.

Today's sketch layout is shown at the right. I liked this sketch; it really is a great one for using up those scraps!!! Even my main image panel and mat came from the scrap pile. The Bashful Blue base card was already cut, scored, and folded and in the folder just waiting for a new project! I guess I should have called this one, "Sale-A-Bration Card", since the stamp set is also one of the items in the brochure! The leaves were made with the "Little Leaves" Sizzlit and the flowers were punched with the Flower Trio Punch and embossed. All the products used to create this card are from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by today!!!
  • Stamps: Congrats (2009 SAB)
  • Papers: Bashful Blue, Whisper White, Certainly Celery, So Saffron, Delicate Dots (2009 SAB) DSP
  • Ink: Bashful Blue, White Gel Pen
  • Accessories: Big Shot, Little Leaves Sizzlit, Flower Trio Punch, Mat Pack, Embossing Stylus, Dimensionals, 2-way Glue Pen

Christmas 2008 with Gammers (SBSC181, RC#40 by Tamara)

This page is a combination of two challenges. First, I used Tamara's Recipe Challenge #40 as shown on Sketches by Tamara. On Tuesdays, she has a Recipe which can be used on a layout or a card. Today's recipe called for: Stars, Staples, and three different patterned papers. There are stars on the background paper, stars on the vertical strip, and punched stars. The staples are holding down the ends of the horizontal strip with the small snowmen on it. The three papers are the main background paper with the large snowmen at the bottom, the vertical strip with rows of different colored stars, and the horizontal strip with the small snowmen.

Sally's sketch layout is shown at the right. As you can see, I moved the photos up near the top so that I wouldn't cover up all those cute snowmen! "Gammers" is what my grandchildren in California call me, either that or "Gramma Gammers." This sketch plus Tamara's recipe worked well for another Christmas page!
  • Papers: DCWV Christmas Stack, Old Olive
  • Accessories: Big Shot, Sizzix Night and Day Alphabet Set, Small Star Punch, 2-Way Glue Pen, Stapler

A Kind Word (CC210)

Today's Color Challenge was to use Riding Hood Red, Kraft, Summer Sun, and Black was optional. The base card here is Riding Hood Red, then I layered the new Specialty card stock, Taste of Textiles, over Basic Black and used border punches on both layers. The main image is water colored on Water Color Paper and matted on the scalloped Summer Sun. After punching the black layer with the Eyelet Border Punch, I used it as a template to pierce the top and bottom of the card. The sentiment, "A kind word is like a spring day," is stamped on the inside of the card which is lined in white. Thanks for stopping by!!!
  • Stamps: A Kind Word
  • Papers: Riding Hood Red, Basic Black, Summer Sun, Taste of Textiles Specialty CS, Water Color Paper
  • Ink: Black Stazon
  • Accessories: Big Shot, Circle and Scallop Circle Nestabilities, Flower, Boho Blossoms Punch, 1/16" Punch (for setting brad), Small Fire Circle Rhinestone Brad, Scallop Edge Border Punch, Eyelet Border Punch, Riding Hood Red Taffeta Ribbon, Mat Pack, Piercer, Mini Glue Dots, Dimensionals

Wish Big (HMC29)

I found another challenge! Thanks to Stacy (aka Twinshappy) I found out that there's a blog called "House Mouse & Friends - Monday Challenge." Today, it was a sketch. Last week it was to do a masculine card. I loved today's sketch though! I made a big, 5-3/8" square card which fits into SU!'s Medium Square Envelopes. Everything on this card, except the main image and the use of Nestabilities, is from Stampin' Up! Thanks for visiting again!
  • Stamps: House Mouse (Blowing Dandelions?), Short & Sweet (sentiment)
  • Papers: Bashful Blue, Whisper White, Bashful Blue Patterns DSP
  • Ink: Black Stazon, SU! Markers
  • Accessories: Big Shot, Nestabilities, WCW Crayons, Aqua Painter, Blue Gingham Ribbon

Christmas 2008 with Emily (LS87 by Tamara)

Every Monday there's a Layout Sketch over at Sketches by Tamara. This one came in handy for one of my Christmas pages.
This sketch actually only had three photos on the right, but I added one more. It works! I also used the leftover piece of torn designer paper from the previous page on the far right. Christmas isn't just red and green, you know! I used DCWV purple textured card stock, the torn strip from the DCWV Christmas Pack, Pale Plum for the large background piece, and Elegant Eggplant for the matting and the stars. The two photo corners are a combination of Pale Plum and Elegant Eggplant. I used a plastic template for the journaling shape (you remember those!). Thanks so much for stopping by!

For You (Mojo78)

I love these Mojo Monday Sketches! This one was a bit tough for me because of that radius at the bottom of the main image panel and the three different designer papers, but I did it! I started with a Pink Pirouette base card then a layer of white with black on top of that. Then came the three designer papers all from Pink Pirouette Patterns Designer Paper. The main image was stamped on Whisper White with Timber Brown Stazon for the branch and Black Stazon for the birds. I colored with Stampin' Up! Markers. Before adhering the matted panel, I pierced all around the edges. The sentiment panel was popped up. All products used to create this card are from Stampin' Up! Thanks for visiting my blog today!
  • Stamps: Eastern Influences, Fresh Cuts (sentiment)
  • Papers: Pink Pirouette, Whisper White, Basic Black, Pink Pirouette Patterns DSP
  • Ink: Black Stazon, Timber Brown Stazon, SU! Markers
  • Accessories: Coluzzle Cutting System, Mat Pack, Piercer, Large and Small Oval Punches, Basic Black GG Ribbon, Dimensionals

Presents! (LS75 by Tamara)

Over at Sketches by Tamara, they have "Sketches, Guest Designer" on Saturday. This means they allow the guest designer to choose a previous layout sketch and do her stuff. This week the guest designer was Jane Hunt and she chose Layout Sketch #75 to work with. The link will take you to the layout. I stayed true to the sketch except that I have one vertical small photo instead of all three being horizontal. It's a great layout; you can use several pics on this one!
  • Papers: DCWV Textured CS, DCWV Christmas Pack, Confetti White, Elegant Eggplant, Pale Plum
  • Ink: White Gel Pen
  • Accessories: Big Shot, Sizzix Night and Day Alphabet Set, Photo Corner Punch

Bird on a Branch (FS110)

Stacy (aka Twinshappy) is this week's Featured Stamper. I've admired her work for a long time. Actually, when I first got started on SplitCoastStampers, we sent Private Messages back and forth, and she sent me some stamped House Mouse images. She's such a sweet lady!

Her card that inspired me is shown at the right. My card doesn't look much like it except for the bird theme. I changed the colors from Bashful Blue and Old Olive to Baja Breeze and Kiwi Kiss. Of course, I used different stamps. I also added another score line and eliminated the button. I had to add the sentiment panel to cover up a smudgie. I was going to stamp the sentiment directly on the Whisper White panel, but you know how it goes! All products used on my card are from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by today!
  • Stamps: Bird on a Branch
  • Papers: Kiwi Kiss, Baja Breeze, Whisper White
  • Ink: Summer Sun, Basic Black
  • Accessories: Paper Trimmer and Impressor Stylus (scoring), Sponge, Kiwi Kiss Satin Ribbon, Dimensionals

I Love You (IC171)

I did the Inspiration Challenge this week! I don't get a chance to do them very often. I went over to the Fitz and Floyd website and was inspired by a covered vegetable bowl.

The inspiration piece is shown at the right. The vegetable bowl has a white rabbit on top amidst some greenery. My bunny is sleeping and dreaming about how wonderful Mommy is, helping color eggs and preparing a special Easter dinner. This card will go to my mother who will be 94 next month. This is another of the stamp sets that I won from Stamps and Smiles. This one is called, "Sleepy Bunny." Thanks for stopping by!
  • Stamps: Stamps and Smiles Sleepy Bunny
  • Paper: Kiwi Kiss, Whisper White, Regal Rose, Raspberry Tart DSP
  • Ink: Black Stazon
  • Accessories: SU! Water Color Pencils, Blender Pen, Baby Oil, Big Shot, Little Leaves Sizzlit, Snips

Recipe Challenge #39 (by Tamara)

Over at Sketches by Tamara there's a Recipe Challenge for scrap booking every Tuesday. It took me a few days to get it together so I could DO this challenge! Recipe #39 was to use: 1) A button trio, 2) A punched border, and 3) The color black.

I guess you can see the button trio easy enough, and I used red and "the color black" to mat my photos. The Christmas tree printed card stock was punched with the Scallop Edge Border Punch. The photos are: Upper left: My grandson, Center: My son, his wife, and their three kids (They had gift tags printed with this photo), Upper Right: My mother watching my grandson open gifts, Lower left: My daughter-in-law's niece, and Lower right: Also my grand children's cousin. Since she was going to be there while my grandchildren opened their gifts, I got her the stuffed tiger she's holding. I used my Big Shot and Sizzlits for the die cut pieces. Thanks for stopping by!

Announcing...

Grandchild #10!
Little Emmanuel was born on February 20, 2009. He weighed 6 pounds, 6 ounces and was 19 inches long. He had a rough start and lost about 6 ounces but has gained back about 3 ounces. He had a bout with apnia (stopped breathing) and was in the hospital a couple of days last week. He's on a monitor now for four months. He was fine when he came to visit Gramma!!

Painting Eggs (SASSC6)

Over at Stamps and Smiles there's a sketch posted every Thursday now. I'm looking forward to more of those!

The sketch for this week is shown at the right. I'm loving these sketches plus, I'm using my new stamps that I won from Stamps and Smiles! The one I used on this card is called, "Egg-stra-special."

I also got a chance to use the paper I just love from Stampin' Up!. It's called, "Tea Party." I used two other new things from Stampin' Up! on this card as well: 1) the new Scallop Oval Punch, and 2) the new "Little Leaves" Sizzlit. Don't those leaves look nice with the punched, embossed flowers?!!! I water colored the main image and the egg, and I popped up the egg and the sentiment panel. Thanks so much for stopping by today!
  • Stamps: Stamps and Smiles - Egg-stra-special
  • Papers: Almost Amethyst, Whisper White, Certainly Celery, So Saffron, Tea Party DSP
  • Ink: Black Stazon, Basic Black, Pretty In Pink Marker

SUO but no stampin' (CC209)

Yes, this is "Stampin' Up Only" but with no stamping! I just played with the Big Shot and some Sizzlits and Embosslits I just got from Stampin' Up! This card is for yesterday's Color Challenge which was to use Rose Red, Always Artichoke, and Basic Black. This card is mainly from scraps, too. The Artichoke swirls are 'Scribbles Swirls' Sizzlit and the flower is the 'Flower' Embosslit. I had a piece of Whisper White that was already embossed with Backgrounds #1 Texturz Plate, and I just cut it in half to fit my die cuts and then matted on a scrap piece of Basic Black. The pearl is from the Pretties Kit and the ribbon is Rose Red GG Ribbon. The DSP is Rose Red Prints DSP (retired). I used the Eyelet Border Punch on a scrap of Whisper White. I adhered the whole thing to a Rose Red base card and lined the inside with white. I will stamp an appropriate sentiment inside when the need arises. The flower looks darker than the base card because I thought it was Rose Red, but it isn't. It was in my scrap basket. I think it might be Purely Pomegranate or Cranberry Crisp, both of which are very close to Rose Red! Thanks for stopping by today!!!

Birthday Box

I found these little pre-folded boxes in the wedding section at WalMart and thought they'd work fine for birthdays. They were on sale for $1.50 for 12 boxes with the decorative strips and the cake embellishments with pop-up squares to go with them. I added the flowers punched with the Flower Trio Punch which I embossed and added pearl centers and Martha Stewart punched leaves.
This photo shows the box open to reveal 16 nuggets fitted snugly inside. I added labels (mailing address labels) which I printed with the recipient's name and some flowers. I think this makes a lovely birthday gift. Thanks for visiting!!!

Egg Hunt (SASSC5)

I just had to do another card for this Sketch Challenge from Stamps and Smiles! Why? Well, I got my stamps today - all those wonderful sets that I won!!! This bunny is so sweet! I just love all my new stamps and couldn't wait to try them out. Jennifer even gave me some pretty ribbons: pink with white polka dots and the brown with polka dots that I used on this card! What a sweetie! I even got to use my new scallop oval punch from Stampin' Up! Thanks so much for visiting my blog!
  • Stamps: Stamps and Smiles - Egg Hunt
  • Papers: Pink Pirouette, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, Holiday Happenings DSP (Level 3 Bundle F/W 2008), Pink Pirouette Patterns DSP
  • Ink: Black Stazon, SU! Markers
  • Accessories: Pewter HPH Clip, Ribbon from Stamps and Smiles, Large Oval Punch, Scallop Oval Punch, Dimensionals

God's Beauty (Mojo77)

Today's Mojo Monday Sketch is a great one! You know how I love layering! I tried to stay with the soft spring colors in the Delicate Dots designer paper. The base card is So Saffron. The next layer is a piece of the designer paper matted on Bashful Blue. The next layer is another pattern of the same designer paper matted the same way. The main image layer was cut with Circle and Scallop Circle Nestabilities. I stamped the leaves directly on the Whisper White circle. I stamped the flower with So Saffron and cut it out. I curled the petals a bit and used a small piece of a Dimensional behind it. I stamped the butterfly with Bashful Blue, colored it with the So Saffron Marker, cut it out, and adhered it with a small piece of a Dimensional, too. In case you can't read the sentiment, it says, "Beauty is God's handwriting." It's a quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson. Everything used to create this card except the Nestabilities is from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!
  • Stamps: God's Beauty (Level 1 Hostess Set)
  • Papers: So Saffron, Bashful Blue, Whisper White, Delicate Dots DSP (2009 SAB)
  • Ink: Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery, So Saffron, and So Saffron Marker
  • Accessories: Big Shot, Circle and Scallop Circle Nesties, Snips, Dimensionals, 1/4" Circle Punch (backing for brads), Soft Subtle Brads

Easter Mouse (FS109)

This week's Featured Stamper was StampingQueenJar. Judy used to be the coordinator of our Challenge Chasers group. I was so happy to find that she was the Featured Stamper! I'm proud of her, and she is very deserving.

Her card that I chose to CASE (Copy And Show Elsewhere) is shown at the right. I really didn't want to change a thing! I love the chicks popping out of the Easter egg. I changed the card from a square to an A2 size. I also changed the colors and stamps. I changed the main image from a circle to an oval and mine is much smaller.

For my card, I used So Saffron for the base card. The white panel was embossed with the Cuttlebug Borders folder. The yellow polka dot card stock is pre-embossed and from the DCWV Kids' Pack. The scalloped edge is Tempting Turquoise card stock and was punched with the Scallop Edge Border Punch from SU! I also punched in each scallop with a 1/16" punch. Oval and scallop oval Nestabilities were used for the main image panel and scalloped mat. The polka dot ribbon was a gift and so was that giant, polka dot brad. Thanks for visiting my blog!

Manhattan Thanks card (LSC210)

This is the card I did for Friday's Limited Supplies Challenge and forgot to post on Friday! What's up with me? I'm a day behind on everything. At least I didn't make anything to post for Saturday, so I guess I'm caught up now. I'll post a card for today later! We were supposed to make a card in less than 30 minutes. I think this one only took about 15 minutes. I embossed the Whisper White panel with the new Textured Impressions Manhattan Flower folder from Stampin' Up! which is available April 1st from the 2009 Spring Occasions Mini Catalog. I added the Riding Hood Red Taffeta Ribbon before adhering the embossed panel to the Riding Hood Red base card; then, I added the knot. I stamped the sentiment with Encore Silver. That's it! All products used to make this card are from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by today!
  • Stamps: Short & Sweet
  • Papers: Riding Hood Red, Whisper White
  • Ink: Encore Silver
  • Accessories: Big Shot, Textured Impressions Manhattan Flower EF, Riding Hood Red Taffeta Ribbon

Enjoy! (SASSC5)

Well, now, over at Stamps and Smiles, they are posting a sketch every Thursday. I did a card with the newest sketch yesterday and forgot to post it! I even forgot to tell you that I WON THE GRAND PRIZE for the contest they had over there. I get all five of the new releases from Stamps and Smiles!!! I'm so honored! Here's the post where they announced the winners.
Now, for the card. The base card is Brocade Blue, the dotted DP is Holiday Treasures (from last Christmas), the striped DP is Holiday Happenings (F/W 2008 Level 3 Hostess Bundle), and the white is Whisper White. The image is from a friend of mine. She loaned me a bunch of her House Mouse and other mouse stamps to stamp off some images. This one is "Town Mouse" by Ward 1 Studio. I colored with water color pencils and blended with a Blender Pen and baby oil. Thanks for stopping by!

Two ATC's (WT208)

Today's Ways To Use It Challenge was to make ATC's. I love to make those little things, and they're so handy for making quickie cards! When I made these two, I was thinking of the little poem, "First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes {name} with a baby carriage!" The first ATC is all white, but it's two layers. The top layer is embossed. The flower came from the Dollar store (six per package), and I used sheer ribbon. The sentiment really said, "Love you," on the stamp, but I only colored the "love" part. I punched it out with the Word Window Punch, added a brad, and wrapped it around the ATC.
  • Stamps: Short & Sweet
  • Papers: Whisper White
  • Ink: Basic Black Marker
  • Accessories: Big Shot, CB Birds & Swirls EF, Word Window Punch, White Brad, Flower Embellishment, Sheer White Ribbon

The second ATC has a Barely Banana base with Whisper White over that. The white was embossed with Swiss Dots. I can't seem to put that little giraffe stamp down! This time, I colored it with Celery and Banana Markers, cut it out, and popped it up on tiny pieces of Dimensionals. The stars are punched with a tiny punch and popped up, and the sentiment panel is popped up as well. Thanks for visiting my blog today!

  • Stamps: Animal Crackers
  • Papers: Barely Banana, Whisper White
  • Ink: Black Stazon; Markers: Certainly Celery, Barely Banana
  • Accessories: Big Shot, CB Swiss Dots EF, Snips, Dimensionals, Word Window Punch, Tiny Star Punch, 1/8" White Satin Ribbon

Pink Giraffe (SC218)

I liked the layers in today's Sketch Challenge on SCS. I also love that little giraffe from the "Animal Crackers" set! I really didn't think I'd like that set as much as I do, but it makes such sweet cards for new babies or children's birthdays.

The sketch layout is shown at the right. For my card, I used a Pretty In Pink base card with a layer of Whisper White that was embossed with the Backgrounds #1 Texturz Plate, Small Polka Dots. The next layer is Pink Pirouette Patterns Designer Paper, large polka dots, matted on Pink Pirouette card stock. The two horizontal layers are Pink Pirouette Patterns DSP, small polka dots, also matted on Pink Pirouette card stock. The main image panel is Whisper White matted on Pretty In Pink. The image was stamped with Black Stazon and colored with Pretty In Pink and Barely Banana Markers. All products used to create this card are from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!
