He's Making a List (TSC1004)

Sillyfilly presented last Friday's Twisted Sistahs Challenge, and she made it really easy. She just asked us to make our card a Christmas card. If you'd like to join us, just use TSC1004 in your key words. I used "Santa's List" single stamp and embossed with red EP. The sentiment was stamped with Real Red Ink and reads, "He's making a list and checking it twice." Inside, it says, "Hope you're nice!" Thanks for stopping by!

Fall Leaves (TSC0927)

Our Twisted Sistahs Challenge for September 27th was presented by Tater, and we were to have leaves on our cards. The leaves were supposed to be the focal point, too. I used up some of my retired stuff. I used the envelope liner die to line the envelope to match the card. I used dies that coordinated with the stamps for the leaves. Thanks for stopping by!

Inchie Legos (TSC0920)

Our Twisted Sistahs Challenge for September 20th was presented by JDfromPAUSA. Jill asked us to use inchies on our cards. I punched 3 one inch squares from the scrap CS and rounded the corners. Then, I punched four 3/8" circles for each square. I raised each circle up on a piece of a Dimensional. The whole "Lego" is popped up, too. Prior to adding the "Legos" I had scored the bottom of the card with 3 lines on the Score Board. Fun challenge! Thanks for stopping by!

Halloween Happiness (TSC0913)

The Twisted Sistahs Challenge for September 13th was presented by Irishgreensue. Greenie asked us to follow a sketch. Since it was Friday the 13th, I thought a Halloween theme would be fun. The stamped panel is on an Action Wobble and the circle has an 18 year old sticker on it! Thanks for stopping by!

Festive Flurry (TSC0906)

The Twisted Sistahs Challenge for September 6th was to have SPARKLING snow on our cards. You can't SPARKLE mush more than Glimmer Paper. I'm going to try to post about once a week or whenever I make a new card. With the foster children keeping me running and my 98 year old mom to care for, I just don't seem to find the time to get online as much anymore. Thanks for stopping by!

Halloween 2013

I just made this card because I wanted to make a Halloween card. LOL! I also wanted to use an Action Wobble. I love those things. The Jack-o-lantern wiggles and wobbles if you flick it. The dp came from my stash and I don't know where I got it. The bat punch is from Martha Stewart, and everything else is from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!!!

Wobbling Panda (TSC0830)

Heartsong47 presented the Twisted Sistas Challenge for August 30th. Jan asked us to either make a masculine card or a fall card. Believe it or not, this is my version of a masculine card. It's so cute when it wobbles!!! Thanks for stopping by!

Watercolor Bear (TSC0823)

Sillyfilly gave the challenge to the Twisted Sistahs for August 23rd. Silvia asked us to make a card using water coloring. I got out the old Water Color Wonder Crayons (retired) and Aqua Painter to paint my Popcorn Bear "Thanks a Bunch" image. I used the new Chevron Punch to accessorize the side area. Thanks for stopping by!

Back to School (TSC0816)

The challenge for the Twisted Sistahs for August 16th was to make a school themed card. I used punched apples and Greeting Card Kids for my school theme. Thanks for stopping by!

Something Old, Something New (TSC0802)

I finally made another card. My foster kids are just keeping me so busy! I'm also crocheting again, but the project is taking forever. I'll take a photo and post it when I get it done. As far as this card goes, it's for the Twisted Sistahs Challenge which was presented by JDfromPAUSA. Jill asked us to make a card using some of our old supplies that have been taking up space or an old stamp that has either never been used or not used in a long time. "Sincere Salutations" was the first set I bought from SU! I used the birthday greeting because this card will go to one of my grand daughters who asked me to give her another hand made card. I'm late though. I'm late for EVERYONE's birthday this year! I'm old and have too many grandchildren, I guess! LOL! Anyway, besides using an old stamp set, I also used some Cherry Blossom dp that has been around a while. I used the new Pansy Punch from SU! to punch out some flowers which I colored to look like the ones in the dp. Thanks for stopping by!!!

CASEing Shirt (TSC0712)

Yes, I'm very late for the Twisted Sistahs Challenge from July 12th, but I had everything ready to put together a week and a half ago but never found the time until today. The challenge was to CASE a friend. I CASEd WannaBcre8ive who we lovingly call "Shirt" (short for Shirley). She was so very kind to have three of us Twisted ones at her house for three days. What hospitality!! Anyway, I was inspired by this card. I didn't have that pretty EF and I left off the scalloped layer. I also used a die cut poinsettia instead of a stamped image and put the greeting inside. Thanks for stopping by!

Joe Cool (TSC0705)

The Twisted Sistahs Challenge for July 5th was presented by Sillyfilly. Sylvia asked us to make a card with a rectangle, an oval, ribbon and a dog or a cat on it. I used Stampabilities' Snoopy stamp for my dog and Basic Black grosgrain ribbon on my rectangle. I used the Ovals Framelits from SU! for the black and white ovals. I used Real Red for the base card and a red plaid dp for the rectangle. There's a sentiment panel which says, "Thinking of You", but I took the photo before it was added. I have no time for retakes! Thanks for stopping by!!

Blow! (SC443)

I used the sketch from last Wednesday, July 3rd, for this one. I made mine a long card in order to be able to send a bookmark to my grand daughter. The stamp is a House Mouse stamp called "Make a Wish". I used retired SU! DSP for the vertical banners and White and Bashful Blue for the card and mats. Thanks for stopping by!!!

Mosaic Madness (CAS226)

The Clean and Simple Challenge for June 24th was to be inspired by this Pinterest photo. I went with the colors and used the "Mosaic Madness" stamp set along with the coordinating punch and embossing folder. Everything is from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!!

Butterfly Thank You (FS333)

I made this card on June 24th but didn't post it to my blog. I'm catching up today. I made this for a Featured Stamper Challenge. The featured stamper was Tina Hale (tinahale38). Here is her card that I CASEd. I only changed the colors (slightly), the stamps and punched the butterfly on the sentiment panel instead of stamping it. I loved the simplicity of her card! The colors I used are Whisper White, Lucky Limeade and Pool Party. The stamp sets used are "Stacks of Wishes" (Hostess) and Summer Solstice for the butterflies. Everything used here is from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!

Three Tulips (CAS225)

It seems I only have time to make a card about once a week these days. Kids! Anyway, the Clean & Simple Challenge for this week on Splitcoast Stampers is a sketch challenge. I used "Backyard Basics" with coordinating Framelits for the tulips and "Itty Bitty Banners" with its coordinating Framelits for the sentiment. I added two "Candy Dots" (Real Red) before the sentiment and popped everything up on Dimensionals. The tulips are colored with markers. There's some embossed scallops and dots at the bottom which was done with the SU! Borders Scoring Board. Everything used here is from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!

Thank You Birdie (TSC0607)

Last week's Twisted Sistahs Challenge was to make a card using a rectangle, a square and an oval. For extra points, use some yellow somewhere on the card. For this card, the card itself is a rectangle, and so is the tag. The matted, embossed panel is a square and the sentiment is an oval. I used the new Chalk Talk Framelits for the tag and the new Backyard Basics Framelits to cut out the birdie. I used "Backyard Basics" stamp set for the birdie and colored it after die cutting using markers. The ribbon is Whisper White Satin. The branch was already punched out, and I think it might be Mellow Moss. I popped up the birdie with a Dimensional and did the same for the whole tag. Thanks for stopping by!!!

Feather in Her Bonnet (CAS222)

The Clean & Simple Challenge on SCS today is to use a feather on your card. I love this Emersen Girl image and thought I'd just add a feather to her pretty hat. It took me a while to find my package of feathers, though! I colored with Copics and added amber gems. I had a smaller gem in her earring, but it fell off before I photographed the card. It's there now. Thanks for stopping by!!!

Thankful Thoughts (TSC0517, WT427)

The Twisted Sistahs Challenge is to make a card with flowers and a ribbon, and the Ways To Use It Challenge is to use flowers, too. Mother's Day was on Sunday and my birthday is today, so my daughter in California sent me two gifts this week. One of them was wrapped in floral wrapping paper, and I thought it would be nice to make her a Thank You card with it! I put it on a 5 X 7 blank card which is from a box of 40 that I got six years ago, I added a bow and a punched out sentiment. That's it! Thanks for stopping by!

Cute as a Button (IC388)

I found inspiration in the "Cute as a Button" favor. I loved the pastel polka dots and the button. I kept mine clean and simple using Very Vanilla for the base card and DCWV Nana's Kids card stock pad for the polka dots. The ribbon is Very Vanilla Taffeta Ribbon, and I used "Itty Bitty Banners" stamp set along with the coordinating Framelit. Nice and quick! Thanks for stopping by!

Birthday Ellie (SC435, TSC0510)

I used this week's Sketch Challenge and made this card for the Twisted Sistahs Challenge which is to make a birthday card with balloons on it. The image is from Paper Cupcakes. It's called "Birthday Wishes". I used Yoyo Yellow for the base card. I'm surprised I still have any of that. I also used an unknown plaid dp and unknown floral dp (20 years old 8-1/2" X 11"). I used the Itty Bitty Banners set for the sentiment and the coordinating Framelits. I colored the image with Copics and added three Ice Square Brads. Thanks for stopping by!!

Modern Mix (MIX14, TSC0503)

This is for two challenges. First, the Twisted Sistahs Challenge, presented by Irishgreensue, is to make a Father's Day card but make it out of the realm of ordinary. I just didn't know what to do for that, so I looked into the Mix-Ability Challenge which I've never tried before. Biggan presented it this week and asked us to do some "Modern Art". I used the Ink, Spray, Smash technique. I forgot about the water though. I used Glossy White card stock and three re-inkers, Summer Starfruit, Pumpkin Pie and Daffodil Delight. I added the stamped pine cone from "Lovely as a Tree" and then some gold Stickles. That's it for my modern art. The sentiment is from "Feeling Sentimental" (2013 SAB). The inside sentiment is "Happy Father's Day". Thanks for stopping by!!

Frontier (WT425)

For the Ways To Use It Challenge, we're celebrating the Kentucky Derby by getting out those horse stamps. This one is SU!'s Horse Frontier. That sentiment may very well be true. I stamped on Naturals Ivory with Timber Brown Stazon (SU! used sell that) and cut out the image with an Ovals Framelit and then sponged with Cajun Craze. The sentiment was punched with the Decorative Label Punch and also sponged. The base card is Cajun Craze and I used retired DSP. The brads are Metallic Brads. Everything is from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!!

Old and New (SC434)

This is for the Sketch Challenge on SCS. The old is the DSP and the colors of Pretty In Pink (ribbon) and Regal Rose (card stock and ink) which will retire at the end of the month. The new is the sentiment from "Label Love" and the new Artisan Label Punch which matches the set. Another old item is the "Eyelet Texturez Plate" that I used for embossing the white panel. The base card, frame and ink are Regal Rose. This was fun to make. The butterfly was added because I have a 2-1/2 year old foster child that kept saying "buh-er-fwy" while he watched me put the card together. I just had to punch and sponge a butterfly and add it for him! Thanks for stopping by!

Handwritten (F4A166)

< The Free 4 All Challenge is to make our sentiment handwritten only. I kind of squeezed in the "Thinking" part, but it doesn't look that bad, does it? I played with a new Memory Box arched window die, my Cheery Lynn Vine die, the Memory Box Curtain die and the Tim Holtz Brick Wall embossing folder. The sentiment is on the Word Window Punched piece which is on the Modern Label Punched piece. I use Soft Suede for the base and for the sponging. I also used Dimensionals to pop things up. This was really fun to make. Thanks for stopping by!

Blue/Green Happy (TSC0426)

The Twisted Sistahs Challenge is to make a Clean and Simple birthday card using blues and greens. The present is from an old set called, "Year After Year" and the sentiment is from "Full of Life". I embossed zig zags on the bottom with the Borders Scoring Plate and added a non-SU! ribbon down the middle. The present was stamped with Gumball Green and the sentiment with Midnight Muse. Everything is from Stampin' Up! except the ribbon. Thanks for stopping by!

To Teach (MMTPT247, WT424)

This is for two challenges: The Teapot Tuesday Challenge is to make a card with apples or "Thank You" which would be appropriate to send to a teacher. The Ways To Use It Challenge is to have some kind of math equation on our cards. This works for both challenges. The dp is about 20 years old! I used Crumb Cake for the chalkboard frame and Basic Black for the chalkboard. The boy is a Sizzix Die which I ran through the Big Shot several times to get all the colors. He was supposed to have a striped shirt, but I paper pieced a plaid one. I forgot I had an apple punch, so I punched Real Red with a 1" Circle Punch and trimmed it to look like an apple. I found my apple punch and punched two apples for the inside of the card. The inside sentiment just says, "Thank You". I added the "plus" sign after I took the photo and re-sized it. Thanks for stopping by!!

Anything Card (CAS217)

The Clean and Simple Challenge is a sketch challenge. It just has a horizontal strip and a sentiment. This would be great to make a gift set with different colors for the strip and different sentiments. The sentiment is from "Live, Laugh, Love" which only had two stamps in it and was intended to be used for cards such as this. I used one of SU!'s border embossing folders on the Pink Pirouette strip and added the Basic Jewels Rhinestones. Everything is from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!

My Deco Inspired (IC385)

I did this card on Saturday for the Inspiration Challenge but forgot to post it. We were to find our inspiration from a site called "My Deco". I was inspired by this deer print. I used a stamp from "Sprinkles" (retired) for the background and then just used two Memory Box Dies for the tree and the deer. Thanks for stopping by!

Friday, April 19, 2013

Birthday Butterfly (TSC0419)

The Twisted Sistahs Challenge is to make a one-layer card and use no pink. This is the first time I've used the "Swallowtail" stamp. I used Illuminate Ink and embossed with Iridescent Ice; then, I colored with Water Color Pencils. I blended with a wet paint brush. It's really hard to get the right angle to photograph in order to show the sparkle from the embossing, but I did my best. Thanks for stopping by!

Sympathy (SC432)

This sketch is pretty simple, and I chose to keep it that way. The base card and frame are Wisteria Wonder, and there's a layer of coordinating DSP. I used Naturals Ivory which I sponged with Wisteria Wonder for the rectangle. The tree and banner are Orchid Opulence. The die is from Memory Box and is called Swirly Tree. The sentiment is from "Teeny Tiny Wishes". Very simple! Everything except the die is from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!

Hotdog on a Stick (MMTPT246)

I haven't participated in a tea party on SCS in a long time. This card goes to someone that my friend (and Twisted Sistah) Sillyfilly knows who is battling cancer. He likes camping among other things. I used "The Great Outdoors" and "Lovely as a Tree" sets. I did some masking in order to create the campsite scene. I colored with SU! Water Color Pencils, but I didn't use an Aqua Painter or anything to blend. The sentiment is from "Teeny Tiny Wishes" which is my "Go To" set for sentiments. The hotdog on the stick was stamped, colored and cut out before adhering to the card. Everything here is from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!!!

Button Inspiration (CAS216)

Well, I finished my taxes and my mom's last night, so I thought I'd reward myself with some card making time this morning. The Clean and Simple Challenge on SCS is an inspiration challenge. We were to be inspired by a Pinterest photo of "Button Plates". The link won't work, so here's the site: http://pinterest.com/pin/231935449531657791/ I left out the orange and turquoise and went with the pink, green and yellow. I used buttons in the centers of Boho Blossoms punched flowers. The stem is from "Watercolor Trio" (retired). I also used the new score board to emboss the bottom of the card. Everything is from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!!

Friday, April 12, 2013

Trust God (TSC0412)

The Twisted Sistahs Challenge for this week is to use one or more of a few SU! colors that will be retired from the core colors when the new catty comes out. The colors to use are: Bashful Blue, Baja Breeze, Pretty In Pink and Certainly Celery. We could use one of these four colors with a neutral or any combination of these colors. I used all of them. I used the Large Scallop Edgelit and the new scoring board to emboss the scallops as well. I also used the Window Frames Framelits. The sentiment is from "Trust God". The leaves were punched with the Bird Builder Punch and the flowers with an old retired SU! punch which, I think, was called Spring Bouquet. I added Basic Jewels Pearls to finish it off. Everything used here is from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!

Thursday, April 11, 2013

Thinking (WT422)

The Ways To Use It Challenge on SCS is to have a window on your card. I don't have a window die or any stamps with windows, so I used the Window Frames Framelits to cut the window out of the front of the card. The thing is, I should have turned the Framelit so that there's a hump on the top instead of a point. The coordinating stamp, "Just Thinking", is positioned correctly, but the window doesn't match! LOL! I didn't have time to "do over", so here it is! Oh well. Thanks for stopping by!!

Wednesday, April 10, 2013

Friend to Friend (SC431)

This is for the Sketch Challenge on SCS. I used Riding Hood Red for the base card and frames, Well Worn DSP embossed with the Honeycomb EF, River Rock embossed with Delicate Designs EF and Very Vanilla sponged with Riding Hood Red for the main image and sentiment panels. The main image is from "Feeling Sentimental" and the sentiment is from "Pocket Silhouettes". The telephone booth was embossed with Black EP and colored in with the Riding Hood Red Marker. I haven't used eyelets in a long time, so I added four to the horizontal strip. Thanks for stopping by!!

Only One You (CC421)

The Color Challenge on SCS is to use Basic Black, Calypso Coral and Baja Breeze. My base card is Basic Black, I stamped the sentiment (Vintage Verses) in black, and I embossed the coral (By the Tide) with Black EP. I used Baja Breeze for the layer on the black. I stamped the fish (By the Tide) with Calypso Coral, cut it out and colored in the light spaces with the Baja Breeze Marker. The fish is popped up with a dimensional. I got extra ink on the card (AGAIN) when I stamped the sentiment, so I added the starfish bead. Otherwise, everything is from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!!

Monday, April 8, 2013

Oh, Hello (CAS25)

The Clean and Simple Challenge today at Splitcoast Stampers is a color challenge. The colors are Tempting Turquoise, Certainly Celery and Pretty In Pink. I used the "Oh, Hello" set and stamped the sentiment with the Tempting Turquoise Ink Pad. I colored the flower stamp with SU! Markers, cut it out and popped it up with Dimensionals. I got a little extra ink on the card, so I covered it up with a Basic Jewels Rhinestone. I'm sure we've all done something like that! LOL! I also embossed two lines down the left side and across the bottom, but you might not be able to see it. Everything here is from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!

By the sea (TSC0405)

First of all, I'm back! My son, his girlfriend, my three foster children and I had a great time in southern California at Knott's Berry Farm, the beach and Disneyland and Disney's California Adventure, but it's sure good to be home! It was my turn to issue the challenge, but since I was out of town, Marleygo stepped in and did it. Lesley asked us to make a beach themed card. I used the old "Seaside Sketches" set. I stamped on heavy white card stock and used my old Water Color Wonder Crayons and Aqua Painter to water color the image. A very Clean and Simple card! Thanks for stopping by!!

Spring Break

My son took this photo out of the window of the train that goes all the way around Knott's Berry Farm. Friday, we left home, east of Reno, and headed south to southern California. We're in Buena Park. It's Spring Break for us and we have already been to Knott's Berry Farm twice and went to the beach on Easter Sunday. Yesterday, we visited my nephew and sister-in-law who I haven't seen since my brother died 17 years ago. Today, we are headed for Disneyland and California Adventure. It's going to be a very long day...expensive too!

Baby Girl card (SC429, TSC0329)

I made this card on Wednesday and forgot to post it! It's for the Sketch Challenge on SCS and also the Twisted Sistahs Challenge. heartsong47 presented the TSC this week. Jan asked us to make a baby card, boy or girl, or just a card for a child. I made this baby girl card even though I don't have any showers to attend. I used White, Pretty In Pink and Pink Gingham DSP. I used the "Baby Prints" set for the little feet. I used Ovals and Beaded Ovals dies and added pearls, ribbon and a diaper pin. Fun card to make! Thanks for stopping by!!

Enjoy the Moment (CAS213)

The Clean and Simple Challenge is to use only line stamps; no solid stamps. This Emersen Girl Stamp from Hobby Lobby is a favorite of mine. A dear friend of mine was going to buy it, but she knew I wanted it and gave it to me instead. That's the only time I've ever been to a Hobby Lobby. The funny thing is, it wasn't until we were in the store that I found out that we had left Illinois and were in Kentucky!! LOL! I just stamped her with Black and colored with markers. The sentiment is part of the stamp. Thanks for stopping by!

Boy Shirt Inspired (IC381)

Not only is this not a man's shirt, but it's not orange! I don't know what my camera is doing lately, but the card stock here is Real Red, not orange. Anyway, I decided to participate in the Inspiration Challenge while my little one takes a nap. I was inspired by the Silk Boyshirt in Gingham at Madewell.com. I used pearls for buttons and put the origami shirt on a doily to make it more feminine. The sentiment is actually an incentive stamp from Stampin' Up! which might be retired. Thanks for stopping by!!

Friday, March 22, 2013

Pinwheels (F4A161)

The Free 4 All Challenge (Fridays on SCS) is called "Geometrically Speaking." We were challenged to get out those square and circle punches. I used a 1-1/4" square punch to make the pinwheels and then popped them up on squares. The sentiment is from Petite Pairs. The blue and green is both sides of some retired DSP. Everything is from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!

Those Girls! (TSC0322, WT419)

This is for two challenges: First, the Twisted Sistahs Challenge is to use piercing, piecing and pearls. I used a Stampin' Up! Piercing Template along with coordinating Framelits. I paper pieced the ladies dresses, and I used small pearls for the necklace and earrings on the lady on the left. The second challenge is the Ways To Use It Challenge where we were to use images of girls on our cards. The stamp I used is an "Emersen Girls" stamp that I bought during my one and only trip to Hobby Lobby last June when I visited with some of the Twisted Sistahs. I popped up everything with Foam Tape. The DSP is from SU! and is retired. Thanks for stopping by!

Sunday, March 17, 2013

Hello (FS319)

I haven't done a Featured Stamper Challenge in a very long time. I loved browsing through Nancy's gallery. I decided to CASE this card. I really didn't want to change anything, but I did change the colors, one of the embossing folders, the ribbon, and my butterflies were punched from scraps of SU! DSP instead of stamping before punching. Also, I only used one pearl on each butterfly, and I used a different stamp from the same "Pretty Petites" stamp set. Everything used here is from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!!

In My Heart (TSC0315)

The Twisted Sistahs Challenge for this week was presented by Brat Cards. Terri asked us to make a card using at least three different textures (i.e., dry embossing, heat embossing, lace, pearls, rhinestones, etc.). I used dry embossing, lace, ribbon, rhinestones and die cuts. The sentiment is from "Word Play", and the hearts are stamped with "Hearts a Flutter" and die cut with the coordinating SU! Framelits. I was looking all over for my pretty lace but couldn't find it since I don't have a craft room anymore, and everything is either in my room or in my closet. This lace was found in a box of wide ribbons, mostly for Christmas. The colors are White, Barely Banana and Pool Party. Thanks for stopping by!!

Sending Sympathy (TSC0308)

The Twisted Sistahs Challenge for this week was presented by JD from PAUSA. Jill asked us to make a sympathy card (or just an uplifting card). I used "Love and Sympathy" which is one of my two sets for making sympathy cards. I hate making them because I know I will have to send them at some point. Death is part of life, but I'd rather make any other type of card. My colors are Very Vanilla, Pear Pizzazz and Wisteria Wonder. I used a Labels Framelits for the sentiment panel and added three rhinestones. Everything is from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!

Easter Blessings (SC426)

I needed another Easter card for my friends to make this afternoon, so I made this one based on this week's sketch on SCS. The set is "Easter Blossoms", but the sentiment came from "Abundant Hope". I embossed the little girl with black EP and punched the image out with the 2-1/2" Circle Punch. I stamped the blossoms on the white panel with Black Stazon and used a Pretty In Pink Marker on the blossoms. The white panel is framed with Basic Black and the base card is Pink Pirouette with the horizontal panel out of Blushing Bride DSP. The ribbon is also Blushing Bride. Everything is from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!
