Fall Leaves (SC248, MMMY1)

This is for the Wednesday Sketch Challenge at SCS, and it's for the new Mother Mark, Miss You! Challenge started by MaryLynn in Cindy's absence. She found a cute tea pot online that had fall leaves on it. This is what I came up with. Everything except for the Martha Stewart Maple Leaf Punch is from Stampin' Up!!! Thanks for visiting!

Oct. 09 Thurs. Niters Projects

I made the sample for project #1 yesterday but didn't want to post it until I finished the other sample. I think everyone will have fun with this one. We all love candy, especially chocolate. I think we will eat a few Chocolate Caramel Candy Corns as we make these two projects! Everything used to make Project #1 is from Stampin' Up!
  • Stamps: Sweet Centers, Grateful Greetings (Holiday Mini)
  • Papers: Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, Garden Green
  • Ink: Summer Sun, Garden Green Marker
  • Accessories: Snips, Scallop Border Punch, Treat Cups, Candy Corn

Project #2 is a juvenile gift card holder birthday card. The only non-SU! products used here are the Nestabilities and the Cuttlebug embossing folder. My ladies will be able to make a boy or girl card. The girl card will have a scallop circle mat of Pretty In Pink. I stamped the gift bag directly on the main image panel, and I stamped it again separately, colored it and cut it out so that I could pop it up.

This photo shows the inside of the gift card holder. It also shows the back of the envelope. I stamped that little bear face on the back of the card as well as the envelope. Thanks for stopping by!!!

Thankful (CAS34)

Well, this is the second post for today, but I was able to find the time this morning to do the Clean & Simple Challenge. The challenge was a color challenge to use shades of pink, blue and green, plus white. Chocolate was optional and I chose not to use it. Everything except the mini half pearls is from Stampin' Up! Thanks for visiting my blog today!!
  • Stamps: Grateful Greetings (Holiday Mini)
  • Papers: Bashful Blue, Whisper White, Certainly Celery, Pretty In Pink
  • Ink: Bashful Blue

Oh, Baby! (FS138)

You mean I haven't posted since Thursday???!!! Wow! I've been so busy lately. I didn't do most of the challenges last week because I've been volunteering at a local elementary school through the Foster Grandparent Program, my mother is in a rehab facility and needs visitors, and my son has soccer practices and games. When things settle down around here, I hope to be able to get a challenge card a day done again.

This week's Featured Stamper is NancyRuth. Nancy has a huge gallery! I was inspired by this card. I used the color combo, the border punching, and the punched birds as elements for my scrap book page. My mother gave me a photo of me when I was only 3 months old. Of course, it's black and white, so I thought this page would work out well. Thanks for stopping by and for your understanding about my not posting as often right now.
  • Papers: Basic Black, Whisper White
  • Ink: SU! Black Journaling Marker
  • Accessories: Big Shot, Sizzix Retro Metro Alpha Set, SU! Simple Flower Embosslit, MS Bird Punch, MS Loop Corner & Border Punch Combo, SU! Scallop Border Punch, Half Pearl from Pretties Kit

September '09 Stamp Camp

I got the idea for Project #1 online at SCS. I love using stamp sets that coordinate with punches. This is a Stampin' Up! Only card.
  • Stamps: Priceless, Delightful Decorations (Holiday Mini)
  • Papers: Confetti White, Old Olive, Whisper White
  • Ink: Encore Gold, Versamark, Real Red
  • Accessories: Clear EP, Heat Tool, Ornament Punch, Gold Cord, Real Red Striped GG Ribbon, Dimensional
Project #2 was a "do-over". Originally, I had cut around the holly like the card in the catalog. I didn't like that, so I tore the main image panel off, re-stamped and water colored, and then added it leaving enough room for the Silver Cord. This is another Stampin' Up Only card.
  • Stamps: Christmas Cheer
  • Papers: Bravo Burgundy, Handsome Hunter, Whisper White
  • Ink: Black Stazon
  • Accessories: WCW Crayons, Aqua Painter, Silver Cord
Project #3 is almost an exact CASE of the example for this set in the catalog. I cut the sentiment off of the stamp and remounted it on the end of the block to make this work. Everything except for the rhinestone is from Stampin' Up!
  • Stamps: Scenic Season
  • Papers: Kraft, Night of Navy, Whisper White
  • Ink: Handsome Hunter
  • Accessories: Big Shot, Top Note Die, Rhinestone, Whisper White Taffeta Ribbon
Project #4 is made with the snowmen from the Level 3 Hostess set in the catalog. Everything here is from Stampin' Up! except for the Cuttlebug embossing folder and the ink.
  • Stamps: More the Merrier (level 3 hostess)
  • Papers: Tempting Turquoise, Whisper White
  • Ink: Teal Stazon
  • Accessories: Big Shot, Snow Dots EF, Word Window Punch, Modern Label Punch, WCW Crayons, Aqua Painter, Tempting Turquoise GG Ribbon
Project #5 is my favorite for this Stamp Camp. I love the Merry Embosslit and the new Designer Series Paper from the Holiday Mini! Everything except the Martha Stewart Snowflake Punch is from Stampin' Up!
  • Stamps: Teeny Tiny Wishes
  • Papers: Naturals White, Christmas Cocoa DSP, Whisper White
  • Ink: Close To Cocoa Marker
  • Accessories: Big Shot, Merry Embosslit, MS Snowflake Punch, Organza Ribbon, Silver Cord, Corner Rounder Punch, Mini Glue Dot

Get Well Soon (CAS33)

Today's Clean & Simple Challenge was a sketch. The CAS cards are quick and easy, and I like to make those when I have to come up with a last minute card. I'm going to visit my mother today. She's 94 and fell last week. She's being transferred to a facility for rehabilitation so they can get her back up and walking in order to come home. She likes pink, so I'm sure she'll like this card. She likes all of the cards I make for her! All products used to make this card are from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!!
  • Stamps: Sincere Salutations
  • Papers: Naturals White, Regal Rose, Whisper White, SU! DSP (retired)
  • Ink: Versamark, Regal Rose
  • Accessories: Big Shot, Little Leaves Sizzlit, Flower Trio Punch, Mat Pack, Stylus, Scallop Border Punch, Regal Rose 5/8" GG Ribbon, Half Pearls, Sponge, Clear EP, Heat Tool

CAS Ornaments (TSC0918)

Our Twisted Sistahs Challenge for Friday was to make a clean and simple Christmas card. This was VERY simple. The red panel was embossed and the ornaments were stamped and punched. I used a Versamarker Pen on the top ornament and embossed with Gold Embossing Powder. I popped them up on double Dimensionals. Everything is from Stampin' Up! except for the embossing folder. Thanks again for stopping by!!
  • Stamps: Delightful Decorations (Holiday Mini)
  • Papers: Naturals White, Real Red, Whisper White
  • Ink: Real Red, Versamarker
  • Accessories: Big Shot, CB Ornaments EF, Ornament Punch (Holiday Mini), Gold Cord, Dimensionals

CASEing Heather (FS137)

Today's Featured Stamper is Heather (aka Tankgirl). She does beautiful work. I chose to CASE this card. The changes I made are:
  1. Bashful Blue instead of Baja Breeze
  2. Paper Piercing instead of Faux Stitching
  3. Embossing instead of Distressing
  4. Same set, different stamp
  5. Punched strip instead of Lace

I used the Martha Stewart ribbon punch to weave the ribbon, but you could measure, mark and use a double rectangle punch to do the same. My half pearls are kind of big, but that's the smallest half pearls I had left in my Pretties Kit. The embossing was done with a Sizzix Starter Kit Texturz Plate. There's lots of sponging on this card! Everything used to make this card is from Stampin' Up! except the ribbon punch and texturz plate. Thanks for stopping by!

  • Stamps: Oval All
  • Papers: Kraft, Bashful Blue, Whisper White, Bashful Blue Prints DSP
  • Ink: Close To Cocoa; Markers: Close To Cocoa and Bashful Blue
  • Accessories: Big Shot, Sizzix Texturz Plate, Ribbon Punch, Eyelet Border Punch, Boho Blossoms Punch, Large Oval Punch, Scallop Oval Punch, Pretties Kit, Mat Pack, Paper Piercer, Sponge, Kraft Taffeta Ribbon

A Rose is a Rose (IC198)

For the Inspiration Challenge, we were to go to a site called LAMA and choose a design for our inspiration. I chose a laptop case. I debossed Apricot Appeal Textured Card Stock and did some 2-step stamping for the roses and leaves. The sprigs are from Autumn Days. I did a lot of cutting here! Everything is from Stampin' Up! except for the Texturz Plate. Thanks for stopping by.
  • Stamps: A Rose is a Rose, Autumn Days
  • Papers: Dusty Durango, Apricot Appeal TCS, More Mustard, Whisper White
  • Ink: Dusty Durango, Close to Cocoa, Chocolate Chip
  • Accessories: Big Shot, Texturz Plate, Stamp-a-ma-jig, Snips, Dusty Durango Ribbon

  • Ink: Rich Razzleberry, Gable Green and Yoyo Yellow Markers

JoshuaFest (WT236)

The Ways To Use It Challenge for today was to use numbers on our projects. It was also OK to make something other than a card including scrap book pages. That's a great way to use numbers for the dates or someone's age or even just numbering photos. I have some photos from our recent camping trip at Joshua Fest in Quincy, California. The photos show members of our youth group and one of our youth leaders. Since the festival took place at the fairgrounds, we were camped in a pole barn where they normally show animals at fairs and 4-H events. Everything is from Stampin' Up! except for the alphabet set and the patterned paper. Thanks for stopping by!
  • Stamps: Under the Stars (Sleeping bag on journaling block)
  • Papers: Pumpkin Pie TCS, Pacific Point, Whisper White, Pumpkin Pie, Bashful Blue
  • Ink: Chocolate Chip, Brown Journaling Marker

Thankful Thoughts (SC246)

Today's sketch on SCS was this multi-layered layout by Jojot. I went with Old Olive and Whisper White and used the retired Georgia Peach Designer Series Paper. I used a scrap of the paper and cut out the two flowers. I embossed them, added the Rhinestone Brads and adhered them with Pop-up Glue Dots. I used two different Texturz Plates: Perfect Details - Pattern #2 and Backgrounds #1 - Small Dots. All products used to make this card are from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!!
  • Stamps: Grateful Greetings (2009 Holiday Mini)
  • Papers: Old Olive, Whisper White, Georgia Peach DSP (retired)
  • Ink: Old Olive

Two Cards for Tuesday (MMTPT64, CC236)

The first card is for Mothermark's Teapot Tuesday Challenge. The teapot was a basket with a bear in it. We're to go to Mississippi for our tea party and figure out a way to get that Yogi type bear out of that basket! I figured that a little girl bear might entice that guy out of there! LOL!
  • Stamps: Beary Best Friends, Beary Nice Wishes
  • Papers: Pretty In Pink, Tea Party DSP, White CS from DSP package, Whisper White
  • Ink: Black Stazon, Certainly Celery
  • Accessories: Big Shot, Circle and Scallop Circle Nesties, MS Frond Punch, Floral Trio Punch, Tiny Half Pearls, Heart to Heart Punch, Modern Label Punch, Dimensionals, WCW Crayons, Aqua Painter
The second card I made today was for the Color Challenge which was to use Soft Suede, Pretty In Pink and Whisper White. I added Mellow Moss and Barely Banana to that. This little square card is really simple, too. I embossed the pink layer with the Perfect Details Texturz Plate, cut out the circle with a Nestability, and I punched and embossed the little flowers to add to my main image panel. The panel is also popped up on double dimensionals. Thanks for stopping by!
  • Stamps: Herb Expressions
  • Papers: Soft Suede, Pretty In Pink, White CS from DSP package, Mellow Moss, Barely Banana, Whisper White (inside)
  • Ink: Soft Suede; Moss and Banana Markers
  • Accessories: Big Shot, Perfect Details Texturz Plate, Circle Nestie, MS Frond Punch, Floral Trio Punch, Mat Pack and Stylus, Dimensionals, Tiny Rhinestones

Newlyweds (CAS32)

The Clean & Simple Challenge today was to make a wedding card. This one was really quick to make. The Cuttlebug Birds & Swirls embossing folder is perfect for a wedding card. I could have left off the sheer ribbon, bow and Love charm to leave it cleaner, but I feel a ribbon is a MUST on a wedding card because you really should "tie a knot" on the card somewhere. The main image was created using the Large Oval Punch and Scallop Oval Punch. I added white flowers with mini half pearl centers and the Brushed Silver punched leaves.

This view is the inside of the card. I used the Cuttlebug Borders embossing folder and stamped the sentiment from God's Blessings stamp set. Thanks for stopping by today!!!
  • Stamps: Teeny Tiny Wishes, God's Blessings
  • Papers: Whisper White, Brushed Silver
  • Ink: Versamark, Basic Gray, Basic Black
  • Accessories: Big Shot, CB Birds & Swirls and Borders EF's, Large Oval, Scallop Oval, Floral Trio and MS Frond Punches, Sheer Ribbon, Love Charm, Mini Half Pearls, Dimensionals

Gift Cards with Box (FS136)

I didn't get a chance to post yesterday. There were soccer pictures and then a soccer game (they won!), then a friend came over and brought us a pizza and picked up her SU! order, after that another friend who moved away to California game and visited while making the 10 Stamp Camp cards. I made a gift card box while she made her cards.
Today's Featured Stamper is Shannon (Steubner). I found inspiration with her 3" X 3" note cards. Also, Stampin B's Design Team had a challenge on Friday to make a box and 3" X 3" cards, so I did both. I made my cards Christmas gift cards. I'm going to give them as a gift. Everything used here is from Stampin' Up! except for the Nestabilities used on the top of the box. Thanks for stopping by!
  • Stamps: Patterned Pines (Level 1 Hostess, Holiday Mini), Just Beclause, Four the Holidays, God's Blessings
  • Papers: Riding Hood Red, Kiwi Kiss, GP White, Christmas Treasures DSP (retired)
  • Ink: Black Stazon, Riding Hood Red, Wild Wasabi
  • Accessories: Big Shot, Square and Scallop Square Nesties, Corner Rounder Punch, Snips, Scallop Border Punch, Tiny Rhinestones, Dimensionals

Watering Hedgie (LSC237)

The Limited Supplies Challenge was called Opposites. We were to use our Oldest stamp set, our Newest tool, our Favorite color combo, and our Least Favorite embellishment. My oldest stamp set is "Hedgehog Happiness". My newest tools are Floral Fusion Sizzlit and Martha Stewart's Frond Punch. My least favorite embellishment is apparently hardware because I have all the Hodgepodge Hardware sets and hardly ever think to use them!! Everything used on this card is from Stampin' Up! except for the punch. Thanks for stopping by!
  • Stamps: Hedgehog Happiness
  • Papers: Basic Black, Real Red, Old Olive, Very Vanilla
  • Ink: Black Stazon
  • Accessories: Big Shot, Perfect Details Texturz Plate, Floral Fusion Sizzlit, MS Frond Punch, Round Fire Rhinestone Brad, Pop-up Glue Dot, WCW Crayons, Aqua Painter, Mistletoe Ribbon (Holiday Mini), HPH Vanilla Ribbon Slider

Punch Art Ladybugs (WT235) (MMTPT63)

This week's Ways To Use It Challenge was "Revved Up Red". We had to use red in our designs. Mothermark's Teapot Tuesday Challenge was to help save LouLaBella the Ladybug from a big Yella Fella. I brought these two ladybugs to the tea party to help. The teapot was white with black swirls and red and black ladybugs all over it. I embossed the red panel and the Confetti White panel and used punches to create the ladybugs. Everything here is from Stampin' Up! except for the Cuttlebug embossing folders. Thanks for stopping by!!

Eastern Birthday (SC245)

I didn't do a card yesterday or post anything here because I just got too busy with real life! I volunteered at an elementary school as a Foster Grandparent from 9 till 2, came home and made sure my son got home OK, left and went to a friend's business to go over the filing I'm going to be doing, got home in time to take my son to soccer practice, and then I got home from that in time to fix dinner for my mother, son and me! After all that I was too tired to make a card!
This one's for today's sketch. The original layout is by Faith (aka Markies mom). The coral layer is embossed with a Texturz plate and the main image is colored with a Blender Pen and ink pads. Everything is from Stampin' Up! except for the ribbon. Thanks for stopping by!!
  • Stamps: Eastern Influences, Teeny Tiny Wishes
  • Papers: Always Artichoke, Cameo Coral, Very Vanilla, Certainly Celery, Secret Garden DSP (retired)

Peaceful Snowflakes (CAS31)

I'm back! We got back late last night and still have to unpack, but we had a great time at the JoshuaFest in Quincy, California. We heard lots of bands, got some CD's and T-shirts, my son got a sweatshirt, and we got to see a great black light show. All in all, it was a lot of fun, and I'm glad we had the chance to go.
Today's Clean & Simple Challenge was called, "Pop It Up." We were to use Dimensionals, foam dots, or Pop-up Glue Dots to pop up something on our cards. I made my card VERY simple this time. I punched out three snowflakes, popped up the larger one and embossed the sentiment with White Embossing Powder. That's it. Everything is from Stampin' Up! except for the small punches and the rhinestone. Thanks for stopping by!
  • Stamps: Four the Holidays (2009 Holiday Mini)
  • Papers: Bashful Blue, Shimmery White
  • Ink: Versamark
  • Accessories: White EP, Heat Tool, SU! Snowflake Punch, MS Snowflake Punches, Rhinestone, Dimensionals

Scrapling Horse (LSC236)

I will be gone all weekend, so this will be my last post until Monday at least. My son and I are going to JoshuaFest, a Christian music festival, in Quincy, California for the weekend with our church's youth group. It's a good thing that today's Limited Supplies Challenge was pretty simple. We were to use the scraps that you have when you make 4-1/4" square cards. If you cut the card stock to 8-1/2" square (for two cards), you'll have a piece left over that is 2-1/2" X 8-1/2". I usually use those for matting small main images. Folded in half, my little card turns out to be 2-1/2" X 4-1/4". It's a bit longer than an ATC. I think this is a great idea for gift cards that you just want to hang on the outside of a gift bag. Well, thanks for stopping by, and I'll be posting on Monday, I hope!
  • Stamps: Wanted
  • Papers: Close To Cocoa, Real Red, GP White, My Mind's Eye DP (All scraps)
  • Ink: Close to Cocoa
  • Accessories: 1/6", 1/2", and 1-3/4" Circle Punches, Sponge, Creamy Caramel Gingham Ribbon (scrap), Natural Hemp Twine (scrap)

Thursday Nighters September Projects

Project #1 was made for the Ways To Use It Challenge (Sand It) as well as being for tonight's Club. It's really simple. I embossed the designer paper and then sanded it. The sentiment was stamped with Versamark and then with Close To Cocoa and then heat embossed with Clear Embossing Powder. I think this would be nice with pearls in the flower centers but I wanted it to be an SU! Only card. All products used to make this card are from Stampin' Up!
  • Stamps: Sincere Salutations
  • Papers: Close To Cocoa, Autumn Meadows DSP (09 Holiday Mini)
  • Ink: Versamark, Close To Cocoa
  • Accessories: Big Shot, Elegant Bouquet EF, Clear EP, Heat Tool

This should have been posted yesterday for the Sketch Challenge, but I wanted to wait until I figured out what the second card was going to be. The flower is colored with Water Color Pencils and blended with Baby Oil and a Blender Pen. It's such a great technique! All products used to make this card are from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!

  • Stamps: Eastern Influences, Short & Sweet
  • Papers: Basic Black, Cameo Coral, Whisper White, Night & Day DSP (09 Holiday Mini)
  • Ink: Black Stazon, Cameo Coral
  • Accessories: Big Shot, Perfect Details Texturz Plate - Pattern 1, Horizontal Slot Punch, Word Window Punch, Modern Label Punch, Organza Ribbon

Be Yourself (MMTPT62)

Speaking of cats (See yesterday's post), I had to DRAW this one! This is for Mothermark's Teapot Tuesday Challenge. This week's teapot is a red and black zebra. Cindy says the zebra's name is Zeke. He's a rock star, and we're going to Africa for our tea party and to hear his band in concert. The only thing is, his parents aren't to happy about his appearance. You know how those teenagers can be! I invited Ben, a rare white tiger from India to come along and try to set Zeke straight. Ben's advice is: "Be Yourself!" Ben is proud to be white and black. Zeke should be, too! There's no need to dye your hair bright red to get attention; just wear some bling!! LOL! Ben likes bling as shown on his sign.

I looked at some cat images online to get ideas and then sketched Ben in pencil on card stock. When I was happy about how he looked, I went over him with black journaling marker; then, I erased my pencil marks. My card is not entirely black and white because I wanted to show Ben prowling through the grass on the African plains. Thanks for stopping by!!!
  • Stamps: Smarty Pants, C is for Cat (inside)
  • Papers: Basic Black, Yoyo Yellow, GP White
  • Ink: Basic Black, Black Journaling Marker, Pretty In Pink and Real Red Markers
