Flowers From the Heart (F4A10)

The Free 4 All Challenge on SCS was to celebrate May Day with flowers. I used the new "Watercolor Trio" set available from the Summer Mini. I used retiring colors: Handsome Hunter and Summer Sun. I colored the stamps with markers, huffed and stamped; then, I dotted the flower centers with Really Rust. The background was embossed with an SU! Texturz Plate. The sentiment panel was punched with the Large Oval and Scallop Oval Punches and then popped up on recycled foam. Everything used to make this card is from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!!

To A Soldier (WT268, CCEE1017)

I made this card for three reasons: 1) The Ways To Use it Challenge was to use chipboard, 2) The CCEE Stampers Challenge was this cool sketch, and 3) I promised an online friend that I would send a card to a soldier in Iraq that she knew. I bought this new set, "July Fourth", because I thought it would be perfect to make a card for a soldier. The sentiment is from "Teeny Tiny Wishes". The chipboard star was covered with Brilliant Blue Prints DSP. I used the retiring Brilliant Blue card stock along with Whisper White and Real Red. The ink is also Brilliant Blue and Real Red. Inside, it says, "America - Land of the FREE... Because of the BRAVE!" Everything used to make this card came from Stampin' Up! The inside sentiment was computer generated. Thanks for stopping by!!

Girly in Gray (MMSC51)

This is for the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge. I'm always late for this one for some reason!! I love the sketches though. I did this in grays just to see how it would look. It looks like someone messed with the color settings and all we have is black and white!! LOL! It still looks pretty to me though. Everything here is from Stampin' Up! except for the border punch. Thanks for visiting my blog today!
  • Stamps: Elements of Style (Summer Mini), Well Scripted (Occasions Mini)
  • Papers: Going Gray, Basic Gray, Whisper White, Retired DSP
  • Ink: Basic Gray
  • Accessories: Basic Gray Taffeta Ribbon, MS Doily Lace Punch, Silver Half Pearls

Asian Dream (SC278)

Today's Sketch Challenge over at SCS was four squares with one larger square in the middle. The example was a square card, but it could be converted to an A2 size card with rectangles instead of squares. I didn't want to use designer paper for my squares. I guess I just wanted to be different. I used a Ruby Red (retiring color) base card to make this 4.25" square card. I matted white on black for my squares and added the die cuts which were cut out of black with an "Architectural Accents" Sizzlit. This looked Asian to me, so I went with it. The stamp is from "Dream Gardens". The red center piece was punched with the Pinking Hearts Corner Punch. I used some punched out pieces to recreate the design on one corner of the inside of the card. Everything used to make this card, except the Sizzlit, came from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!!

Praying for You (CC268, MMTPT91)

This is my second card for both the Color Challenge and Mothermark's Teapot Tuesday Challenge because there's a second person in our group of SCS stampers that needs uplifting. The base card is Barely Banana with a layer of Very Vanilla that has been embossed with an old Cuttlebug folder, Stylized Flowers. The main image and sentiment are from "Thoughts & Prayers". I colored the stamp with Old Olive and Ballet Blue Markers, huffed and stamped. I added tiny blue pearls in the flower centers. Thanks for stopping by!!

A Friend (CC268, MMTPT91)

The Color Challenge was to use Old Olive, Barely Banana and Ballet Blue with a dessert of red embellishments. I forgot to use my ladybug button! Mothermark's Teapot Tuesday Challenge was to bring daisy petals to the party. This card will go to a fellow stamper who is having surgery this week. During her recovery, she's been told that she can't sit and play on the computer or stamp for more than a half hour. Since she can't do what she loves for a while, we are sending her cards to cheer her up and wish her a speedy recovery. Thanks for stopping by!!
  • Stamps: God's Blessings
  • Papers: Barely Banana, GP White, Old Olive, Ballet Blue
  • Ink: Ballet Blue
  • Accessories: Big Shot, CB Stylized Flowers EF, Labels Nestie, Little Leaves Sizzlit, Flower Daisy Sizzlit, Sponge, Old Olive Satin Ribbon

More Orange! (TLC270)

The Technique Lover's Challenge was to take one of our Clean and Simple cards and add more to it...More is More, or we could take one of our highly embellished cards and make it clean and simple. See the post just before this one to see my CAS design that I embellished here. I added a strip of Sweet Pea DSP with the recycled sheer ribbon. I also added another layer of orange and white, punching the orange layer with the Scallop Trim Corner and Border Punches. Thanks for visiting my blog today!!

HB Jen! (CAS64)

The Clean and Simple Challenge was to make an orange birthday card in honor of Jen's (aka Miss Boo) birthday because her favorite color is orange. I used Only Orange (retiring) and Whisper White card stock. I punched the horizontal strip at the bottom with the Eyelet Border Punch. The cake is from the "Happy Moments" Sale-A-Bration set, and it's colored with Only Orange and Yoyo Yellow Markers (both retiring). I cut the cake out and popped it up on one Dimensional. Cutting around those candles was a bit tricky!! Everything used to make this card is from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!

CASEing Gloria (FS168)

Today's Featured Stamper is GloriousGreetings. Gloria has a great gallery, and I enjoyed spending some time there this morning. I CASEd this card. I needed a card for a baby shower, so I used the happy little hippo from the "Pun Fun" set. I stamped on Whisper White and again on Pretty In Pink Prints DSP. I did the paper piecing and popped up the head with a Dimensional. The background panel is tone on tone stamping the balloon from the "Family Accessories" set and then punching the corners with the Ticket Corner Punch. The Chocolate Chip layer is embossed using the Perfect Polka Dots Impressions Folder from SU! The sentiment is stamped with Chocolate Chip on Whisper White, punched with the Word Window Punch and matted on Pretty In Pink. The ribbon is the retired Wide Chocolate Chip Satin Ribbon. I wish I had put it OVER the pink panel instead of just the brown because you can barely see that it's there! Everything except for the circle Nestabilities is from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!!

Why I'm Late (TSC0423)

The Twisted Sistahs Challenge was to make a card out of red, white and a neutral. It had to be funny and feminine, and we had to use punches. I used that black mat behind the punched mat for another neutral, but I think it would have looked just fine with white. The designer paper is Real Red Prints (retired). The main image with its sentiment is from "Golden Oldies" which was in last year's Occasions Mini. I punched leaves, flowers and the border mat. The flowers were embossed. I added Real Red Satin Ribbon and another sentiment from "Older & Wiser" which was a Level 3 Hostess set a year or two ago. Everything used to make this card is from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!!!

Birthday CASE (C4C34)

Today's challenge at Crazy 4 Challenges was to CASE one of the Design Team's cards. I chose the 5th one down in the post by Barbara Anders. I liked the clean and simple design. I changed colors, papers, ribbon, stamp and I made a flower instead of using a button and bow. Everything used to make this card is from Stampin' Up! Thanks for visiting my blog!
  • Stamps: On Your Birthday
  • Papers: Almost Amethyst, So Saffron, Tea Party DSP
  • Ink: Lovely Lilac
  • Accessories: Big Shot, Bird & Blooms Sizzlits, Pretty In Pink Brad, Pretty In Pink Satin Ribbon, Bone Folder

Journal Inspired (IC229)

For today's Inspiration Challenge, we were to go to Green Rainbow Shop to find inspiration. I chose this Cafe Journal with the watering can. I made this a very clean and simple card similar to the front of the journal. The base card is Going Gray (retiring), the Spiral Punched layer is Confetti White, the main image was stamped on Very Vanilla, water colored and matted on Cameo Coral (retiring). The sentiment is from Fundamental Phrases and the main image is from A Flower for All Seasons. Thanks for stopping by!

In the Gardens (F4A9, MMSC50)

Today's Free 4 All Challenge was to make a card showing where we would like to go on a vacation. I would like to go to Butchart Gardens again. The gardens are on Vancouver Island in B.C. about 20 miles from the city of Victoria. It's so beautiful!! When we went, we toured the West Coast and took a Ferry to the island. We took two foster daughters and my step-daughter. We all were just amazed by the beauty.

My card is made with Almost Amethyst, Whisper White and Tea Party Designer Series Paper. I used Circle Nestabilities and Circle Punches. I water colored the main image and added Pretty In Pink Satin Ribbon with a bow as well as the pearls. I used this week's Midnight Madness sketch with all those circles! Thanks for stopping by!!

Stripes, Prints & Polka Dots (WT267, CCEE1016)

The Ways To Use It Challenge is called, "Mix It Up." We were to mix up various patterns of designer papers. I used a retired set of papers from SU! I can't even remember the name of it. It had the stripes, the flower print and the polka dots, so I used all three. I also got a chance to use a couple of the retiring colors, Barely Banana and Cameo Coral, along with a couple of keepers, Whisper White and Old Olive. The only items that are not from Stampin' Up! are the Nestabilities and the Cuttlebug "Asterisks" die. I also used a 1/8" punch for the flower centers. The ribbon is Old Olive 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon. This is also for the CCEE Stampers Challenge which was a sketch this week. I think this sketch works so well with the mixed up designer papers! Thanks for stopping by!!

A Thought (SC277)

Today's Sketch Challenge on SCS gave me an opportunity to use up some retired Designer Series Paper. The paper was called "Autumn Vine." The base card at matting is Basic Black and the main image panel is Very Vanilla. The sentiment from "Whimsical Words" was stamped with Basic Black ink. The embossed flowers were punched from Ruby Red and More Mustard with the Flower Trio Punch and the leaves were punched from Really Rust with the Bird & Branch Punch. Everything used to make this card is from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!

Way To Go! (CC267, MMTPT90)

This is for the Color Challenge which was to use Basic Gray, Apricot Appeal and Sage Shadow with a dessert of lace. I didn't include dessert and I was thinking it's all retiring colors, so I used Going Gray instead of Basic Gray by mistake. Oh well, it looks OK with the lighter gray anyway. This is also for Mothermark's Teapot Tuesday Challenge. We were to bring a critter with us to the party that we could ride in a race. I have a horse, but I thought this long neck giraffe would work out even better. He may not run for the roses, but he sure can reach for the stars!! LOL! The base card is Going Gray. The first layer is Apricot Appeal Designer Series Paper (DSP) matted on Sage Shadow. The DSP is embossed with the Sizzix Texturz Plate, "Stars". The main image panel is Whisper White matted on Going Gray and Sage Shadow. I stamped the little giraffe from "Animal Crackers" with Black Stazon and colored with Apricot and Gray markers. The sentiment is from "Staring You" and I also used a stamp from "Itty Bitty Backgrounds" on the main image panel. I punched and adhered some extra stars and added three star brads. Thanks for stopping by!!!

CASEing Perk (QFTD05)

There's a new challenge on SCS called, "Queen For The Day". They're up to the 5th one already, and I missed it when my friend, Pat Smethers, was the queen! This week, the queen was CoffeeStamper, also known as Sue or Perk. She has a lovely gallery and I picked this card to CASE. I didn't have that cute bear image she had, but I had this $1 stamp from Dollar Tree, so I thought it might work out. I changed the colors, paper, main image stamp, and I didn't have room for another button up top. The base card is Certainly Celery with a layer of Pawsitively Prints Designer Series Paper. I used Whisper White and Barely Banana for the Doily Lace Punched strips. The main image is matted on Whisper White and then Certainly Celery. It's water colored with Water Color Wonder Crayons and an Aqua Painter. The ribbon is retired from Stampin' Up. The buttons are Soft Subtles (celery). The sentiment is from "Short & Sweet" and is stamped with Black Stazon and punched out with the Word Window Punch. It's matted on Barely Banana. Everything here is from Stampin' Up except for the main image and the Doily Lace Border Punch. Thanks for visiting my blog today!

Itty Bitty Trio (CAS63, TLC269)

Today's Clean & Simple Challenge was to follow a sketch. The Technique Lovers Challenge was to do some piercing. I used Naturals White for the base of this 4.25" square card. The "Itty Bitty Bits" stamp set was used to stamp those tiny images on Whisper White with Riding Hood Red and then punched with the Itty Bitty Shapes Punches. The sentiment is from "Short & Sweet". I did my piercing above and below the popped up images. Those stamps and punches will be available May 1st from the Summer Mini Catalog. There's also buttons to match. Everything used here, except the ribbon, is from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!!

Cowboy Label (IC228, C4C33)

The Inspiration Challenge for this week was to go to Crate Label Museum to find a label to inspire us. I chose this Texas Cowboy label. The Crazy 4 Challenges challenge is a sketch this week. I sponged the background reverse masking and then masking off the sun. I used Summer Sun, Brilliant Blue, Going Gray and Basic Gray. The main image from "Wild Wild West" was sent to me by my friend, Pat Smethers. She stamped the cowboy with Black Stazon on Close To Cocoa. The base card and mat are Basic Black. The strips are from a pad of assorted leathers that are self sticking. It came from Sizzix. Thanks for stopping by!!

I'm Late! (WT266)

Today's Ways To Use It Challenge was to use the theme of TIME. Since it's the final day to file Federal Income Taxes in the U.S., it was thought that we all might be thinking of being on time. My theme is a belated birthday. Inside it reads, "Did I at least get the month right? Happy Belated Birthday!" I used some retiring colors here. The base card is Apricot Appeal with a layer of Apricot Appeal Prints Designer Series Paper (DSP). I stamped the turtle on Apricot Appeal and again on two different patterns of the DSP. I cut out the spots and glued them to the shell which is cut out and popped up as well. The main panel is matted on Barely Banana and then Whisper White. The ribbon is Apricot Appeal Grosgrain Ribbon and the two end corners are punched with a Corner Rounder Punch. All products used to make this card are from Stampin' Up! Thanks for visiting my blog today!

Get Whale! (CCEE1015)

The CCEE Stampers Challenge this week is to make a Get Well Card. I used the whale from the "Pun Fun" set and the sentiment that goes with it. The whale is stamped on white card stock with Black Stazon and colored with Bermuda Bay and Taken With Teal Markers. I used the Scallop Trim Corner and Border Punches to make two scalloped mats. The base card is Bermuda Bay with an embossed layer of Taken With Teal. Both of these colors are retiring. The ribbon is Bermuda Bay Polka Dot Ribbon. Everything here is from Stampin' Up! except for the embossing folder. Thanks for stopping by!

For You (SC276)

I really like the sketch today on SCS. It sure works well with the flowers from the "Elements of Style" set (available from the Summer Mini May 1st). Everything here is from Stampin' Up! except for the Martha Stewart Doily Lace Trim Punch. The base card and matting are Basic Black. The first layer is Very Vanilla embossed with Perfect Polka Dots Impressions Folder. The next layer is Blush Blossom (retiring), and it's embossed with the same folder. The main image panel is Water Color Paper. The image is stamped with Stazon and water colored with Water Color Wonder Crayons and an Aqua Painter. The sentiment is stamped on Very Vanilla and Punched with the 1" Circle Punch. It's matted on Basic Black that was punched with the 1-1/4" Circle Punch. Small black half pearls were added and it's popped up with one Dimensional. Thanks for stopping by!!

Paper Roses

I have had MANY requests for the instructions to make the paper roses both here and on SCS. A couple of people preferred not to publish their email addresses in their comments, yet they still wanted to get the instructions. That's OK. Just email me at: davis4him517@sbcglobal.net and I will send you the instructions that I saved in a Microsoft Word .doc file.

Birthday Roses (CC266)

Today's Color Challenge on SCS was to use some retiring colors: Ruby Red, Blush Blossom and Cameo Coral. We were to use white or ivory as our neutral, and the "dessert" was either cocoa or caramel, meaning to use Close To Cocoa or Creamy Caramel, but is was optional. I used both. The base card is Ruby Red with a layer of Very Vanilla that was embossed with the Elegant Bouquet Impressions Folder. The main image panel is Blush Blossom matted on Close To Cocoa which is scalloped. The roses are Ruby Red and Cameo Coral with Ruby Red sponging. The tiny embossed flowers were punched from Blush Blossom and sponged with Ruby Red. Pearls were added to the centers. The leaves are Creamy Caramel sponged with Close To Cocoa. I've had tons of requests for the instructions for making the roses. If you would like them, too, please give me your email address so I can send the file which is in Microsoft Word. Thanks for visiting my blog today!!

Mother's Day Breakfast

I'm the hostess this year for our annual Mother's Day Breakfast for our church's Women's Ministry. These luminaries will be on white doilies in the center of each table with two on the large dining table. All the tablecloths are white, the plates are white, and I bought rose colored cloth napkins. These were made with SU! designer series paper, white, green and Cameo Coral card stock plus vellum on the inside. There are battery operated candles inside each one. I used the Big Shot and oval Nesties, Little Leaves Sizzlit, Flower Embosslit, and Flower Daisy Sizzlit. Everything except for the Nesties is from Stampin' Up!
Cameo Coral and Handsome Hunter are retiring colors, so I figured I'd make use of some of those because I need to make 30 of these favors. I used the Bag w/Scallops XL Die from Stampin' Up! as well as the Little Leaves Sizzlit. I embossed the front with the Elegant Bouquet Impressions Folder. I made one of these roses for my mother's birthday card and decided to do it for these favors. Wow! I have to make 30!! LOL! If I make 2 or 3 each day, I'll be done in plenty of time. The rose is made with the Fancy Flower Punch and it's sponged with Purely Pomegranate. Everything used to make these favors is from Stampin' Up! Thanks for visiting my blog today! If you'd like the instructions for making the rose, just make a comment leaving me your email address, and I will email them to you.

Tulips (CAS62)

The Clean & Simple Challenge is an inspiration challenge today. We were to find our inspiration from post cards of Macinac Island, Michigan. I chose this post card. My tulips were made with the wing from the Bird & Branch Punch, and my vase was punched with the Ornament Punch and the embossed with the Finial Press Impressions Folder. I already had the embossed white panel (Perfect Polka Dots Impressions Folder). The sentiment from "Teeny Tiny Wishes" was stamped on white with Taken With Teal (retiring), and then punched with the Word Window Punch. The base card, mat, stems and leaves are Green Galore (retiring). The tulips are Real Red and Yoyo Yellow (retiring). I used recycled foam to pop up the tulips and vase. Everything used here is from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!!

Honoring Pat (FS166)

Today's Featured Stamper is Pat Smethers. I met Pat in person in Grass Valley, California, in December. We went to her brother's church to see the Living Nativity. She even brought a wheelchair for my mom so we could wheel her through the Nativity! She's such a sweetheart! I've seen people using certain punches online that I couldn't find locally, and Pat went shopping in her area and found them and shipped them to me. She is so kind, and I'm proud to CASE one of her beautiful cards. I chose to CASE this card. I changed the colors including papers and ribbon; I used different stamps; I also added what Pat calls my "signature" embossed flowers. The two border punches I used were the ones that Pat bought for me. Thanks for stopping by!
  • Stamps: Whimsical Words (SAB), Itty Bitty Backgrounds

California Poppy (C4C32, IC227)

This is for two challenges. Who would have the time to do each challenge individually??? The first one is the Inspiration Challenge on SCS. We were challenged to be inspired by our home states. I moved to Nevada 10 years ago from California where I had spent all my life. The Golden Poppy is California's state flower. When I was a little girl in southern California, I used to see them growing wild all over the place, even in vacant lots. There are hardly any vacant lots in southern California anymore. The second challenge is the Crazy 4 Challenges challenge. This week, the challenge is called, "1-2-3." We were to use one ribbon, two buttons or brads and three punches. Everything used to make this card is from Stampin' Up! I used the Crushed Curry Ribbon and Summer Sun card stock because they will be retiring soon. Thanks for stopping by!!
  • Stamps: Bloomin' Beautiful
  • Papers: Summer Sun, Whisper White
  • Ink: Black Stazon, Basic Black
  • Accessories: Big Shot, SU! Perfect Polka Dots EF, Water Color Pencils, Blender Pen, Baby Oil, Crushed Curry Ribbon, Brads, Ticket Corner Punch, Large and Scallop Oval Punches, Recycled Foam

Lavender Roses (TSC0409)

Our Twisted Sistahs Challenge was to make a card of encouragement; a get well or thinking of you type card. I couldn't wait to get this new SU! set, "Elements of Style". I stamped on Whisper White with Black Stazon and then colored with Water Color Pencils and blended with an Aqua Painter. The base card and mat is Lavender Lace, one of many of the SU! colors that will be retiring at the end of June. The other Whisper White Layer was embossed with SU!'s Perfect Polka Dots Impressions Folder. The sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes was stamped with Perfect Plum. Everything used to make this card is from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!!

Country Silhouettes (WT265, CCEE1014)

This is for the Ways To Use It Challenge on SCS which was to use angles in our designs. I put the main image panel on an angle. This is also for the CCEE Stampers Challenge for this week which was to use silhouettes in our designs. My image is from "Pocket Silhouettes." The base card is Crushed Curry (which will retire July 1st) and the layer of patterned paper is non-SU! although SU! has a yellow checked paper in the Pawsitively Prints DSP. I stamped the little sentiment with "Tiny Tags" and punched it out with the small tag punch. I adhered it to the Black Gingham Ribbon with Black Hemp Twine. The main image is popped up on recycled foam. Everything here, except for the patterned paper, is from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!!

Little Bit Country (SC275)

I thought today's Sketch Challenge called for the use of scraps and a "quilt" look. I actually sewed on this one! The base card and mat are Regal Rose. The main image and matting under the designer paper are Whisper White. The designer paper is Pawsivitely Prints. The image is from Country Morning which is a current hostess set. I water colored the main image and used my sewing machine on this with a zig-zag stitch. All products used on this card came from Stampin' Up! Thanks for visiting my blog today!

Thank You Tag (CC265, LNS65)

The Stampin'Up!LNSStampers Yahoo Group I'm in has a challenge each week. This week it was a sketch challenge. I like the clean and simple design. I used this week's Color Challenge too. Everything here is from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!!

Old School Rooster (MMTPT88)

This is for Mothermark's Teapot Tuesday Challenge. You should go to the SCS thread and read her post in order to understand why this is an "old school" rooster! The base card is So Saffron with a layer of Pawsitively Prints Designer Series Paper. The main image from "Country Morning" (hostess set) is stamped with Black Stazon and colored with SU! Markers. The sentiment is from "Starring You" set. The ribbon is retired Mellow Moss Gingham Ribbon. Everything is from Stampin' Up! except for the Nestabilities. Thanks for stopping by!!

Asian Celebration (CAS61)

The Clean & Simple Challenge was to use ONLY a sentiment stamp; no other stamps were allowed. This card took about 5 minutes to make. I used a piece of card stock from an old DCWV Mat Stack, stamped the sentiment from "Celebrate Everything", embossed with the Chinese Lanterns from the Cuttlebug Asian Bundle and finally, I sanded the embossed impressions. I adhered that piece to the Purely Pomegranate (retired In-Color) base card. This was as simple as it gets. My daughter-in-law is Chinese so I try to send her and my son cards with an Asian influence. This is a card I will send them to congratulate them on the purchase of a brand new automobile. Thanks for stopping by!!

CASEing Theresa (FS165)

Today's Featured Stamper is TheresaCC. I chose to CASE this card. Her card was called Loosie Goosie. I could have called mine Ducky Wucky!! LOL! I changed the stamps, colors, papers and ribbon. I also moved the ribbon to the opposite side since my duck faced the opposite direction from her goose. I used the retired Wagon Full of Fun duck stamp and retired Groovy Guava card stock and Darling Doodles Designer Series Paper. The Naturals White base card is current and so are the Old Olive Satin Ribbon and the Heard From the Heart sentiment. Everything is from Stampin' Up! except for the Nestabilities. Thanks for stopping by!!!

Hat Inspired (IC226, C4C31)

The Crazy 4 Challenges challenge was to use Kraft card stock for the base of our projects. I was able to combine it with today's Inspiration Challenge which was to find inspiration from hats at Williams Chambers Millinery, and I found this hat which looks like the Kraft color. This card was made using all Stampin' Up! products. Thanks for visiting my blog today!!!
  • Stamps: Very Thankful
  • Papers: Kraft, Basic Black, Whisper White, SU! DSP (from 2009 Holiday Mini)
  • Ink: Basic Black
  • Accessories: Basic Black GG Ribbon, Corner Rounder Punch, Mat Pack, Paper Piercer, Red Stickles

Making up for yesterday...

These are cards I made yesterday, but I was unable to post anything because the Blogger wouldn't let me post! I'm posting them now, and then I will post today's card separately. Thanks for your understanding.
The Twisted Sistahs Challenge was hosted by Tater. Phillis challenged us to make a card with "rain" as our theme and NO PINK! The no pink was no problem, but the rain theme was a tough one. I just don't have stamps that have much to do with rain. I managed to find this umbrella stamp in a kit that my kids got for me a few years ago from CostCo. It would be perfect for a wedding or baby shower. I colored with SU! Markers and used the Scallop Trim Border and Corner Punches around the edges. This one started with a 3-1/4" square. I matted the main image panel on Old Olive and popped up the whole thing on Almost Amethyst that was embossed with Stampin' Up! Perfect Polka Dots Impression Folder. This card is 4-1/4" square.
This is the outside of an accordion card that I made for the Free 4 All Challenge. I don't have tag board or whatever you call it, so I used the cardboard that comes in the SU! Designer Series Paper packages instead. I covered that with paper from My Mind's Eye and used recycled (Christmas) ribbon to tie around it and form the bow. The Easter bonnet image is from the same Costco kit as the image on the card above. I water colored and used markers, sponged the edges and matted on some pale lavender (non-SU!) card stock.

This is the inside of my accordion card. It's just white card stock stamped with the Bella Toile background stamp in Bravo Burgundy. I tried not to use too much SU! stuff on this because it's for my secret sister who knows I'm a Stampin' Up Demonstrator. I try to make cards that look like someone else might have made them. Thanks for stopping by!!!

Club Projects - April 2010

I should have had everything done yesterday for tonight's club, but my hip gave out on me and I just had to take a chill pill and lie down. I'm back at it today, though. I'm having to use my cane a little, but I'm much better. I decided to use the challenges for today to create the designs for tonight's projects. The first card is for the CCEE Stampers Challenge. We were challenged to use a silly/funny critter on our projects and maybe a humorous sentiment. My funny critter is the old guy! LOL! He just seems to fit so well with the humorous Ward Cleaver quote! Besides, I really wanted to make a guy card that could be used as a birthday card, and this fits the bill. It's a clean and simple design. I just used Real Red for the base card, added a piece of Real Red Prints DSP (retired), and stamped the image and sentiment on white using Night of Navy for the mats. The sentiment is popped up on recycled foam. The main image is water colored.
This second card is for the Ways To Use It Challenge which was to use an image of a child in our designs. We will be focusing on water coloring tonight, so the main image is also water colored. She is stamped with Black Stazon on Very Vanilla and matted on a square that was punched with the Scallop Trim Corner and Border Punches and is Old Olive. The strip of designer series paper is from the Tea Party DSP and it's also punched with the Scallop Trim Border Punch. The base card is Almost Amethyst and the ribbon is Old Olive Satin. All products used on both cards are from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!!
