Bloom (SC216, Color Inspiration #42)

Today's Sketch Challenge on SCS was interesting and fun to do. I combined mine with the Color Inspiration Challenge #42 at DWernerDesign.com. The colors were More Mustard, Really Rust, Kiwi Kiss, and White. The base card is Naturals White and is embossed with the new Backgrounds #1 Texturz from Stampin' Up! I found out how to use the plates with a shim to get deeper embossing. I embossed the Kiwi Kiss panel with the same plate and it matches the designer paper.

The sketch layout is shown at left. I used Nestabilities Large Circle and Scallop Circle dies and then cut the circles into quarters. I colored the flower with a Blender Pen and ink pads. I did the out-of-the-box technique and also sponged the panel before matting tightly on Really Rust and Basic Black. The embossed Kiwi Kiss panel is matted on Basic Black, too. Thanks for visiting my blog today!

Very pretty card! I love this flower and hate that I don't have that stamp set...yet. It works so well for Kristina's color challenge, and you did a fantastic job on the sketch challenge too!

HUGS!

Very nice card! The funny thing is that I used the same DSP and the same texturz plate for mine, I'll post it tomorrow :) I guess we have good taste :)
