Gone Fishing (MMTPT107)

Information about Mothermark's Teapot Tuesday Challenge may be found here. For this week's tea party, we were to bring anything to do with fishing. We could bring bobbers, bait, fishing poles, sinkers, etc. I brought this "Gone Fishing" sign. There's a story behind this, too: Old Doctor Maxwell Doilyslobber used to go fishing every Wednesday. Everybody in town knew that, but when he retired, people just didn't think he was REALLY retired. He met up with Sam Smead at the local diner who asked him, "Where were you yesterday, Doc? It was only Monday!" Well, the old doc had to remedy this situation, so he took down his plaque with his stuffed prize trout on it that hung behind his desk in his office and painted "Gone Fishing" on it. He took down the sign that said, "Maxwell Doilyslobber, M.D. - Internal Medicine and Geriatrics" and replaced it with his plaque. Now, it hangs there EVERY day. He hopes everyone gets the message!! As for YOU, thanks for stopping by!!
