Thinking of You (SC209)

The photo at left shows the layout for today's Sketch Challenge. I like having layers that kind of go every which way. This sketch is especially good for using up scraps. Everything on this card was a scrap except for the base card, the ribbon and the brads.
The base card is Confetti White. The mats are all Pink Passion. The first patterned paper is "Sweet Always" by Stampin' Up! The horizontal piece is from a DCWV pack. The main image was stamped with Black Stazon and colored with SU! markers. Thanks for visiting again!!!
  • Stamps: A Flower for All Seasons, Always in My Thoughts
  • Papers: Confetti White, Pink Passion, GP White, Sweet Always DSP, DCWV DP
  • Inks: Black Stazon, Pink Passion (sentiment); Markers: Pink Passion, Yoyo Yellow, Garden Green, Going Gray
  • Accessories: Hot Pink Satin Ribbon, Hot Pink Brads

Bloomin' (CC199, MTSC24)

The photo at left shows Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge layout. It's a square card which I don't make very often, and I don't even know why. Mine is 5-3/8" square. I used this sketch with this week's Color Challenge on SplitCoastStampers. The Color Challenge was to use Bravo Burgandy, Handsome Hunter, and So Saffron.
The base card is So Saffron. At the top, there is a piece of So Saffron DSP from the Pallet of Prints (retired). At the bottom is a piece of Handsome Hunter that was embossed with the Cuttlebug Birds n' Swirls embossing folder. The strip that divides the top and bottom is Bravo Burgundy and it was crimped. The main image was stamped with Black Stazon and water colored using the Challenge Colors. I embossed the three little flowers at the right and added white gel pen dots in the centers. I also added a strip of the So Saffron DSP to the front of the envelope. (The card sits on the SU! Medium Square Envelope.) Thanks for visiting my blog!
  • Stamps: Bloomin' Beautiful

BeeCause (MOJO67)

I'm back! I had a wonderful time at my daughter's in California this past weekend. It was great to see the grandchildren and her whole family. This card was done with MOJO Madness Sketch #67. I think I'll do these sketches on Mondays instead of the Technique Lover's Challenge on Splitcoaststampers because I rarely have the supplies needed or the desire to go through all the trouble to make those cards with special techniques.
Here's the sketch.
They are usually pretty clean and simple sketches which I like. I used a Basic Black base card for this one with a layer of Summer Sun that has a bit of honeycomb texture from a Fiskars Texture Plate. The More Mustard piece has been embossed with the Cuttlebug Frills Border embossing folder and then matted on Basic Black. It also has Basic Black grosgrain ribbon and knot. The main image was stamped with Stazon Black on GP White and water colored, but I sponged with More Mustard first. I stamped and water colored one pot separately, cut it out, and popped it up on a Dimensional. The sentiment is from an unknown source. I got it as a White Elephant gift with several other acrylic stamps. The main image panel and sentiment are also popped up on dimensionals. Thanks for visiting my blog today!
  • Stamps: Just Buzzin' By, Unknown sentiment
  • Papers: Basic Black, Summer Sun, More Mustard, GP White
  • Ink: Black Stazon, Basic Black, More Mustard
  • Accessories: Big Shot, Large Labels Nesties, Fiskars Honeycomb Texture Plate, Cuttlebug Borders "Frills" EF, WCW Crayons, Aqua Painter, Basic Black GG Ribbon, Ticket Corner Punch, Dimensionals

San Diego Zoo Pg. 1 (SBSC161)

I got one more page done from our summer vacation photos this morning. I went back to October to find the sketch (shown at right) that would work with the three pics I wanted to put on my first page of the zoo photos.

Instead of the circles, I used one large flower cut in half. The background paper is DCWV Photo Stack. That has been working so well with the vacation pics. I'm not doing much stamping on my pages lately though. I will correct that on the next page I do. I used Yoyo Yellow (12" X 12") for the matting, trim, and titles. Some people came up to us and asked if we'd take their picture in front of the sign before we went into the zoo. We did and they did the same for us! That was nice. The flamingos are the first animals we saw, both walking and on the tour bus. Those camels are double humpers. I can't remember what they're supposed to be called (technically). Thanks for visiting today, and I hope you had a very merry Christmas!!
  • Papers: DCWV Photo Stack, Yoyo Yellow 12" X 12"
  • Accessories: Big Shot, Sizzix Bloom Alpha Set, Cricket, ZooBalloo cartridge, 2-Way Glue Pen, Large Flower

We'll be in California until Sunday. Then, I'll start doing cards again!

Sunset (SC208, CC198)

It's Christmas Eve!!! Merry Christmas everyone!!! I've been as busy as you and still have gifts to wrap! I combined challenges for this card. The layout at the right shows the sketch and the color challenge from yesterday was to use So Saffron, Cameo Coral, and Orchid Opulence. That was a tough one. No wonder it took me an extra day to come up with something.
The base card here is Cameo Coral with a layer of Orchid Opulence which is pierced in the corners. The next layer is So Saffron matted on Basic Black. The main image was Stamped on Whisper White with Basic black, sponged with the challenge colors, and matted on Basic Black. This is an SUO card which means all products are from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by, and have a VERY Merry Christmas!!!
  • Stamps: Lovely as a Tree
  • Papers: Cameo Coral, Orchid Opulence, So Saffron, Whisper White, Basic Black
  • Ink: Black Stazon, So Saffron, Cameo Coral, Orchid Opulence
  • Accessories: Mat Pack and Paper Piercer, Sponge

The Guys (SBSC169)

The layout at left is the sketch (#169) that I followed for this page. We had been at Disneyland all day and couldn't find a nice restaurant to have dinner. They were booked two weeks in advance! I didn't know you could do that! We were tired anyway, so we decided to leave Disneyland and find a restaurant near our hotel in Buena Park.
We went to the Claim Jumper Restaurant which was right across the street from our hotel. It was kind of late, so we were concerned that we might not be able to be served. We were so wrong! They really made it a nice evening for us! It was the best service we'd had anywhere! We enjoyed it so much, I thought I'd take some photos to add to the vacation scrap booking. They looked so serious in the first photo. Maybe they were both tired, but I told them to cheer up and look like they were enjoying the vacation. I reminded them of the wonderful treatment we were getting in this restaurant. Well, they cheered up, and this is what I got...silliness! LOL! My next page will be the beginning of the San Diego Zoo photos and the last leg of our summer vacation. I will use this same sketch, but I think I might eliminate the sewing machine stitching. Thanks for stopping by today!!
  • Stamps: Cheers to You
  • Papers: DCWV Photo Stack DP, Yoyo Yellow, Basic Black, Riding Hood Red, Pumpkin Pie
  • Ink: Basic Black and Black Journaling Marker
  • Accessories: Big Shot, Scallop Circle Nestabilities, Cricket, ZooBalloo cartridge, Sewing Machine, Orange Thread

Monday, December 22, 2008

Well, I've been as busy as anyone during the past few days, so I haven't had time to post. I did do some cards, but they're for a swap, and we aren't supposed to post photos of those cards until after they've been swapped out. I had to make eight cards for that swap! I also did some scrapping this weekend. If you look down at a previous post for the "Jungle Cruise" page, you will see that this "Tom Sawyer's Island" page is the opposing page for that one. They both have the forest in the background. I used the Cricket and the Zooballoo cartridge for the title and the grass at the bottom. The top pic is of Captain Jack, the main character from Pirates of the Caribbean. I just had to get a photo of him! LOL! The one below, of course, is the river boat passing by the island. No stamping on this; DCWV Photo Stack DP, Green Galore and Gable Green card stock, and I used the Green Galore marker for the subtitles.
The next two pages are several photos of floats in the Disney parade. The background is DCWV Nana's Kids Premium Stack (embossed), and the purple striped DP is from a WalMart paper stack I got as a gift. I used the Scallop Edge Border Punch on all the DP. The photos are all matted on Gable Green and Orchid Opulence. The title was done on the Cricket with the Zooballoo cartridge (it was already in the machine). The Mickey in the upper left (sorry for the glare) was cut out of some sort of package about 10 years ago, and I found it in my stash!

The top two photos on the right side page are actually pockets with tags for journaling. One is for the left page and the other is for the right. The tags were made on the Big Shot with Sizzix Tags die. I reinforced them by punching a 1/4" hole out of a scrap of Orchid Opulence and then punching with the 1/2" Circle Punch around the smaller hole and then adhering these pieces to the top of the tags around the hole that was already there. I added 1/8" lavender satin ribbon. I've also had the Disney stickers on the border strips for over 10 years! Thanks for visiting my blog today!!

Monkey Gift Card Holder (WT197)

For the Ways To Use It Challenge today, we were to make a "quickie" gift. I used this Sock Monkey card I already had to make a gift card holder. All I had to do was add the patterned paper on the inside. The inside of the card is shown below.

  • Stamps: Sock Monkey
  • Papers: Glorious Green, Real Red, GP White, DCWV Christmas Stack DP
  • Ink: Black Stazon, Basic Black
  • Accessories: Big Shot, Square and Scallop Square Nesties, Oval Punches, Ribbon, Liquid Applique, WCW Crayons, Aqua Painter, Word Window and Small Oval Punches (Inside)

Adventureland (SBSC105) & Jungle Cruise

I decided to start scrap booking the Disneyland part of our summer vacation and I went all the way back to September of 2007, for a sketch that would work with just two photos. The one I chose is shown at left. I thought those "Eastern Blooms" flowers were perfect for Adventureland with the Jungle Cruise and all.
I've been using the DCWV Photo Stack for my vacation pages. This one sort of looks like burlap. The narrow strips are Chocolate Chip Textured card stock and the orange is Pumpkin Pie Textured card stock. The title was done on my Big Shot with Sizzix "Lime Light" alphabet set. The flowers were stamped on yellow with Pumpkin Pie and then cut out and embossed for a 3-D effect. I also added black faux eyelets.

I didn't use any sketches for this "Jungle Cruise" page because I just wanted the photos to work with the DCWV Photo Stack paper. I love the forest or jungle look. I added leaves that were punched with the Martha Stewart Leaf Punch, and I matted the photos on Basic Black. The title was done on my Big Shot with Sizzix "Cattycorners" alphabet set with shadows. I like how the yellow and black letters just seem to pop. Thanks for visiting today!!!

Best Wishes (SC207)

I didn't get a chance to post yesterday, but I did do a card for the Sketch Challenge. The layout is shown at right for the A2 size card. There was also another layout for a square card.
I used a Basic Black base card with an embossed layer of Kiwi Kiss. I matted Barely Banana on Basic Black for the "ribbons" and the sentiment panel. The House Mouse image was borrowed from a friend. I don't own any of those but I like them. Thanks for stopping by!
  • Stamps: House Mouse (1999) Blowing Dandelions, Short & Sweet (SU!)
  • Papers: Basic Black, Kiwi Kiss, Barely Banana, GP White
  • Ink: Stazon Black, Basic Black
  • Accessories: Big Shot, Cuttlebug Forest Branches EF, WCW Crayons, Aqua Painter, Dimensionals

  • Papers: Basic Gray (base card), Night of Navy, Kiwi Kiss, Baja Breeze, Green Tea DSP
  • Ink: Night of Navy

Knotts (SBSC168)

I've used up the last of our Knott's Berry Farm photos. Next, will be Disneyland pics. The sketch shown at right is what I used, but I only used three photos instead of four, my square pic is 4 X 4 instead of 3 X 3, I flipped the sketch to accommodate my 4 X 6 landscape oriented photo, and I think my circles are different.
Tilt your head all the way to the right and you'll see that this page is actually done with the sketch shown, LOL! I used the "faux wood" technique to make the wanted sign. Since I only used three pics, it left me room on the black circle for some journaling. Thanks for stopping by!!!
  • Stamps: Wanted
  • Papers: DCWV Photo Stack, Basic Black, True Thyme, unknown yellow, Creamy Caramel (for faux wood sign)
  • Ink: Basic Black, Basic Brown, Whisper White Craft, White Gel Pen, Chocolate Chip and Chocolate Chip Marker (for sign)
  • Accessories: Big Shot, Sizzix Skooshy Alpha Set, Small Circle Nesties, Fiskars Circle Template, Snips, Sponge

CASEing America (FS97)

Yesterday was Featured Stamper Challenge day. I wasn't home very much, so I didn't get a chance to CASE one of Cards_By_America's cards until this morning. The photo at the left shows the card I chose to CASE.
I changed the colors from black and white to Taken With Teal and Whisper White, but I reversed the dark and light. Where she had black, I used white, and where she had white, I used the darker color, Taken With Teal. I don't have that Sale-A-Bration set anymore, but I do have the Rub-ons. I did my rub-ons just like she did except that she stamped her layered flower and I used the rub-ons. My sentiment stamp is different, too. Thanks for visiting my blog today!
  • Stamps: Beautiful Borders (sentiment only)
  • Papers: Taken With Teal, Whisper White
  • Ink: Whisper White Craft
  • Accessories: Sale-A-Bration (2008) Rub-ons, Flower Trio Punch, Small Round Ice Rhinestone Brad, Big Shot, Cuttlebug Swiss Dots and Tiny Bubbles EF's

I deleted two posts. One was a Featured Stamper card from last week where I used the new "Echoes of Kindness" set that will be a Level 2 Hostess set in the new catalog. The other was where I used "Just Buzzin' By", which is a set that will be available in the new 2009 Spring/Summer Idea Book & Catalog. I found out that Stampin' Up! doesn't want demonstrators to post any samples, etc. before the sets are available to our customers. I was in error by posting those two cards. I'm no expert, so I guess I will make mistakes. Thanks for your understanding!

Reindeer Slippers (LSC198)

Today's Limited Supplies Challenge was called, "Going Green" meaning reuse or recycle. I recycled the reindeer slippers. I pulled them off of a Christmas gift tag about three years ago and put them in a plastic "shoe box" where I store such goodies. It sure was fun going through that box!! This really was a fun challenge! The slippers are on a sponged vanilla circle that is matted on a red scalloped circle which were cut on the Big Shot with Nestabilities. The designer paper was Ticket Corner Punched and red brads were added in each corner. The sentiment was stamped, punched, and adhered to the vanilla Hodge Podge Hardware which was attached to the red grosgrain ribbon. This card was actually pretty quick to put together. Thanks for stopping by today!!
  • Stamps: Holly Jolly Christmas
  • Papers: Very Vanilla, Real Red, DCWV Christmas Pack DP
  • Ink: Real Red
  • Accessories: Big Shot, Circle and Scallop Circle Nesties, Sponge, Red Brads, 5/8" Real Red GG Ribbon, Designer Label Punch, Vanilla HPH

Cheers (WT196)

The Ways To Use It Challenge was called "Half Baked". We had to use half of an image or embellishment. My half baked idea was to cut the orange slice from Tart & Tangy in half and I used it as a garnish for a tasty tropical drink. The base card is Pixie Pink with an embossed layer of Baja Breeze. The main image was stamped on copy paper, enlarged 200%, and then copied to white card stock. Then, the piece was cut into a rectangle using the Big Shot with Nestabilities. Thanks for visiting my blog today!!!
  • Stamps: Cheers to You, Tart & Tangy
  • Papers: Pixie Pink, Baja Breeze, GP White
  • Ink: Basic Black, Pixie Pink
  • Accessories: Big Shot, Rectangle and Scallop Rectangle Nesties, Cuttlebug Tiny Bubbles EF, Snips, Crystal Effects, WCW Crayons, Aqua Painter, Ribbon, Brads, Mat Pack, Piercer

Cuppy Cakes (SC206)

The layout for the sketch is shown at the right. I widened panel #3 to accommodate larger circles. I also widened panel #2 because I wanted to emboss it and punch the edges. I also did not overlay my main panel very much because I wanted the embossing on panel #2 to show.
The base card is Pretty In Pink with a Whisper White layer that has been embossed with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder. I added Real Red grosgrain ribbon before adhering the white panel. The pink panel is embossed with the Frills Border folder and punched with the Scallop Edge Border Punch. The cupcake "papers" were colored with markers and the "frosting" was done with Liquid Applique. This is a gift card holder as well. I showed the inside of a baby card gift card holder here. I just love that style of gift card holder! Thanks for stopping by!!
  • Stamps: Bitty Basics (Level 1 Hostess Set), On Your Birthday (Inside)
  • Papers: Pretty In Pink, Whisper White, Real Red, Flowers For You DSP (Inside)
  • Ink: Regal Rose; Markers: Regal Rose, Real Red

Christmas Cardinal (CC196)

I was not that crazy about today's Color Challenge to use Baja Breeze, Taken With Teal, Riding Hood Red, and Whisper White. This is what I came up with, though. If you stand back and look at it from a distance, it doesn't look so bad. I used Taken With Teal for the base card and added a layer of Baja Breeze that I embossed. I die cut the "Top Note" twice; once with Whisper White and once with Riding Hood Red. I trimmed the white one at the stitching marks. I stamped the cardinal with Stazon Black and colored it with a blender pen. The leaves are Old Olive with the teal over that. I sponged the punched snowflake with Baja Breeze and added a rhinestone in the center. Thanks for stopping by today!!
  • Stamps: A Cardinal Christmas
  • Papers: Taken With Teal, Baja Breeze, Riding Hood Red, Whisper White
  • Ink: Riding Hood Red, Baja Breeze, Taken With Teal. Old Olive Marker, More Mustard Marker, Close to Cocoa Marker

Club Projects - December

Both clubs that I have left for December are going to do the same projects. First, the Tuesday Nighters will do them, and then the Ladies' Night Out Club will do them. Project #1 is a masculine birthday card. I was going to have them choose between #1 and #2, but, if we have time, they can do both. I used Whisper White Craft ink and embossed with Crystal Clear embossing powder before I had a chance to re-ink the white pad. I think I will have them emboss with white embossing powder over Versamark instead. I used a strip of Bella Rose designer paper with Chocolate Chip ribbon over it. The buckle was die cut on the Big Shot using a Sizzix Buckles die. This is a very simple card.
  • Stamps: On Your Birthday
  • Papers: Riding Hood Red, Very Vanilla, Bella Rose DSP
  • Ink: WW Craft, Riding Hood Red
  • Accessories: Big Shot, Sizzix Buckles Die, 5/8" Chocolate Chip GG Ribbon, Crystal Clear EP, Heat Tool
Using the same card stock as Project #1 and flipping over the DSP, Project #2 becomes a feminine birthday card. I used different ribbon and the sentiment panel is matted on pink and then a red scalloped circle. This is another very simple card!
  • Stamps: On Your Birthday
  • Papers: Riding Hood Red, Pink Pirouette, White, Bella Rose DSP
  • Ink: Riding Hood Red
  • Accessories: Circle Punches, Scallop Circle Punch, Riding Hood Red Striped GG Ribbon

Project #3 will take a little time. It's a View Master card. All the little flowers are embossed. The stamps on the View Master "reel" are from Bitty Basics (Level 1 Hostess Set). Thanks for visiting my blog!

  • Stamps: Bitty Basics (Level 1 Hostess Set)
  • Papers: Naturals White, Pale Plum, Barely Banana, Perfect Plum
  • Ink: Perfect Plum, So Saffron (on reel), Pretty In Pink (on reel), White Gel Pen, Perfect Plum Marker, WCW Crayons, Aqua Painter, Dimensionals, Circle Punches, Scallop Edge Border Punch, Mat Pack, Embossing Stylus, Perfect Plum GG Ribbon

Hoot, Hoot! (IC157)

Yesterday was all doctor appointments, errands and personal stuff. By the time I got done, I was too tired to get creative! Today's Inspiration Challenge was called "Images Under Glass", and we were to choose one of the pretty glass necklaces as our inspiration. The photo at right shows the one I chose. As soon as I saw it, I thought of the "Owl Together Now" stamp set.
I have no idea why the background looks pink in this photo, but it's actually white! Oh well, the card is the subject matter anyway. The base card is Basic Black with a layer of Green Galore that has been embossed with the "Forest Branches" embossing folder. The main image panel and mat were done with Nestabilities. The sentiment panel and mat were done with a circle punch and the Scallop Circle Punch. The branches were punched with the Martha Stewart Branches Punch. The main image was stamped with Basic Black Craft ink and embossed with black embossing powder; then, it was colored with the Basic Black Marker and white gel pen. Thanks for visiting my blog today!!!
  • Stamps: Owl Together Now
  • Papers: Basic Black, Green Galore
  • Ink: Basic Black Craft, Basic Black Marker, Signo White Gel Pen
  • Accessories: Big Shot, Cuttlebug Forest Branches EF, Circle and Scallop Circle Nesties, 1-3/8" Circle Punch, Scallop Circle Punch, MS Branches Punch, Basic Black GG Ribbon, Dimensionals

Penquin Christmas (WT195)

This is my second card and envelope for today's Ways To Use It Challenge! I don't do that very often, but it's fun making these cool envelopes! This time, I used DCWV Christmas Stack designer paper. The sentiment on the card was cut out of the same paper. That penguin is a $1 stamp from Michael's. The snowflakes are done with the Martha Stewart Snowflake Punch. I added red rhinestones in the snowflake centers. Thanks again for visiting!!
  • Stamps: Mike's $1 Stamp
  • Papers: Real Red, GP White, DCWV Christmas Stack DP
  • Ink: Black Stazon, SU! Markers
  • Accessories: Big Shot, Oval and Scallop Oval Nesties, MS Punch, Word Window Punch, Red Rhinestones, Stickles (on hat)

Enveloped Birthday (WT195)

First of all, I did yesterday's Sketch Challenge, but I didn't like the card that much so I didn't post it here. I did send it out though. It was a Thank You card. I just didn't like the colors and papers - too busy. Anyway, on to today's Ways To Use It Challenge. We were to use envelopes. It could be a mini envelope on a card or a coordinating envelope, etc. I chose to use my Five-In-One Card Cover Template to make my own envelope. I've never used that template before and I'm sure glad I did! I'll be using it more often now! The "Sweet Always" designer paper has pink and orange, so I used the pink to make the card. This card measures 6" X 3-3/4" to fit into the 6-1/2" X 4" envelope. I embossed the Boho Blossoms flowers and added pink brads in the centers. I created a "corsage" with the embossed flowers and ribbon. Thanks for stopping by today!!
  • Stamps: Older & Wiser (Level 3 Hostess Set, retired)
  • Papers: Pretty In Pink Textured, Pretty In Pink Std., GP White, Sweet Always DSP
  • Ink: Pretty In Pin
  • Accessories: Five-in-one Card Cover Template, Big Shot, Oval and Scallop Oval Nesties, Boho Blossoms, 1-1/4" Circle, 1-3/8" Circle, and Scallop Circle Punches, 2-Way Glue Pen, Dazzling Diamonds, Soft Subtles Brads, Whisper White Taffeta Ribbon, Dimensionals

Thursday Nighters December Projects

The first project for Club on Thursday night will be using the "Cracked Glass" technique. It's best if you use a stamp that kind of has a vintage look because you're going to age it even more. I stamped the locomotive on Naturals Ivory with Basic Black. Next, I covered the whole piece with Versamark. I applied Glassy Glaze embossing powder liberally and heat embossed. This process was done twice to get a really thick glaze. I put the piece in the freezer for a few minutes, took it out, cracked it in several places, sponged black ink in the cracks, and finally, wiped it off with a Kleenex. This piece was matted on black. The Naturals Ivory base card was stamped with Itty Bitty Backgrounds and sponged around all the edges. The matted cracked glass piece was adhered to the center and three silver brads were added at the lower right.
  • Stamps: Happiness Is A Journey
  • Papers: Naturals Ivory, Basic Black
  • Ink: Basic Black, Versamark
  • Accessories: Glassy Glaze EP, Heat Tool, Mat Pack and Piercer (to set brads straight), Silver Brads, Sponge, Kleenex

Project #2 will be three 3" X 3" Christmas gift cards using punch art. I CASEd this from the Demonstrator Web Site at Stampin' Up! There was one more punch art design which was a Santa face, but I thought three of these and the "Cracked Glass" technique would be enough for one night! Here are the punches I used:

  • Penguin: Basic Black - 1" Circle, 1-3/8" Circle, Small Ovals (wings); White - Large Oval, 1/8" Circle (cheeks), 3" long strip of scraps, torn for snow; Orange - Boho Blossoms (beak and feet); Add white gel pen eyes and DSP scarf; use Almost Amethyst or Bashful Blue for base card (3" X 6")
  • Snowman: Basic Black - 1-1/4" Square, Word Window, 1/8" Circle (X 7); White - 1-3/8" Circle; Kiwi Kiss - Boho Blossoms (holly); Real Red - 1/8" Circle (berries) and base card; Orange - Large star
  • Reindeer: Close to Cocoa - Wide Oval (sponge face), 3/4" Circle; Chocolate Chip - Boho Blossoms (hair), Five Petal (ears); Real Red - 1/2" Circle (nose); White - 1/4" Circle (X 2); Black - 1/8" Circle (X 2) NOTE: To make antlers, use wide oval and punch; punch again slightly above original punch out. Do the same with the 3/4" Circle Punch, twice. Assemble as shown. Use Sage Shadow for base card.

Masculine Card (CC195)

Today's Color Challenge was to use Basic Black, Very Vanilla, and Sahara Sand. I thought that color combination seemed masculine, so I tied to use images that seemed masculine, yet the embellishments bring a bit of femininity to it. This is a big 5-3/8" square card. It fits into Stampin' Up!'s Medium Square envelopes. The base card is Sahara Sand and the stamped panels are Very Vanilla matted on Basic Black. The vanilla panels are all sponged with Sahara Sand. I added the punched branches behind the sentiment panel and did some paper piercing in two corners to finish it off. Thanks for visiting my blog today!!!
  • Stamps: Happiness Is A Journey, Lovely As A Tree, Elegant Cheer
  • Papers: Sahara Sand, Very Vanilla, Basic Black
  • Ink: Basic Black, Sahara Sand
  • Accessories: Big Shot, Oval and Rectangle Nesties, 1-1/4" and 1-3/8" Circle Punches, Martha Stewart Branches Punch, Sponge, Mat Pack and Piercer, Dimensionals
