Santa Claus is Coming to Town (TSC1214)

The Twisted Sistahs Challenge was presented by Wannabcre8ive. Shirley asked us to make a card inspired by a Christmas Song. My song is "Santa Claus is Coming to Town." I used "Wonderous Wishes" stamp set and colored with markers. The base card is Cherry Cobbler with a layer of Crumb Cake that was embossed with the "Snow Burst" EF. I hope to do more challenges in the future. Thanks for stopping by!

MMTPT227 for DeAnna

The teapot Tuesday challenge is for DeAnna who has breast cancer. She is also my daughter. We're supposed to visit her this weekend and exchange Christmas gifts, but she's in the hospital again, so we have to play it by ear. DeAnna loves to take her kids to Disneyland, especially around Christmas time. Our challenge was to make a pink and gold card with a Disneyland theme. I have Mickey Mouse die cut using a Cuttlebug die out of Brushed Gold (SU!). He's popped up on Pretty in Pink which is embossed with an old metal Sizzix embossing folder. I added shear gold ribbon and bow.
This is the inside. We were also supposed to try to incorporate the names of DeAnna's three children (my grandchildren). I put stockings in the challenge colors inside along with a gold embossed sentiment from "Four the Holidays" (SU!) Thanks for stopping by!!

Nov. Stamp a Stack #2

I can't seem to stop using Raspberry Ripple and Gumball Green! Love it! This is a CASE of a Stamp Class card by Erin Gonzales. (Scroll down to her stamp class and see the card on the lower left in the photo.) I used Whisper White, Raspberry Ripple, Gumball Green and Pool Party card stocks. The bottom edge of the mat is punched with the Pinked Hearts Border Punch. I used the Chevron embossing folder to go with that punched border. Other punches used were: Postage Stamp, Merry Minis Punch Pack and 1" Square Punch. The ribbon is Raspberry Ripple Stitched Satin Ribbon. Two down and three cards to go for my Stamp-a-Stack next week. Thanks for stopping by!!!

Nov. Stamp a Stack #1

I'm finally going to do some card making with my friends. My cast comes off on the 27th; then, PT, but we will do a Stamp a Stack on the 30th. Anyway, we will make two each of five designs. This is the first one, and it's a CASE of this card by Cristena Bagne. I changed the base card color and the ribbon. The card stocks I used are Raspberry Ripple, Gumball Green and Whisper White. The ribbon is Whisper White Satin. The stamp set is Scentsational Season with the Holiday Framelets to cut the Gingerbread Man. Thanks for stopping by.

Snow Much Fun (TSC1116)

The Twisted Sistahs Challenge for this week was presented by Sillyfilly. Sylvia asked us to make a Christmas card with a snowman or or a scene and use some kind of embossing somewhere on the card. I used a Stampin' Up! embossing folder for the snowflakes. The card stock is Whisper White and Raspberry Ripple. The ink is mainly Raspberry Ripple and Gumball Green. The snowman is the short guy from "Snow Much Fun". I actually cut him out and popped him up! Everything used to make this card is from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!!!

Here I am!

It's been over a month now since I've posted. My foster child left on October 12, and I had surgery on my hand on October 15. I've been a little down in the dumps. Everything is so hard to do with just one good hand!
The photo above shows how it looked for the first week or so after surgery.
The next photo shows how it looks now. I got the bandages and splint off and the stitches taken out two weeks after surgery. I have about a week and a half before the cast comes off and I go to physical therapy. The pink is in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, especially since my oldest daughter is fighting that battle now. That's a whole other story. Anyway, today I finally made a card. It will be in my next post. Thanks to everyone for their patience!!!

Thursday Card Makers #2

I changed my mind about the two cards we'll be making this week. I was going to make them both fall cards, but I'm having surgery on my hand on Monday and may not be able to use my left hand for a while, so I decided to make one of the cards a Christmas card. Also, the Twisted Sistahs Challenge for last week (TSC1005) was to make a Christmas card using black, white, red and one other color. I used "Wacky Wishes" (hostess set) for the sentiment and "Scentsational Season" for the candy cane. The snowflake and scalloped circle were punched. Everything used to make this card is from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!!!

Thursday Card Makers #1

On Thursday, October 11, 2012, I will have some friends over to make two cards. I'm going with a simple fall theme and trying to keep the cards fairly simple too. This one is Early Espresso with some retired SU! autumn DSP and retired Mellow Moss Gingham Ribbon. The leaves and acorn were stamped with the "Wonderfall" set on pieces already die cut using the Bigz Die which is available from the Holiday Catalog. Everything used to make this card is from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Fall (TSC0928)

It's been a while since I've posted anything because I've had a lot of pain in my left hand. It's made it tough for me to create anything. I've been pretty busy with my foster child, my mom and my son lately as well. I will have to have surgery on my hand in a few weeks. It will take some time to recover from that, so I will be MIA for a while. I made a card for the Twisted Sistahs Challenge though. It's to make a fall themed card with fall colors (Halloween, Thanksgiving or just a fall theme). I CASEd the scarecrow from Lauri Randolph's blog. Hers was done a little over a year ago. Mine is Pumpkin Pie with a layer of dp. To make the scarecrow, I used Lauri's instructions and description except that I used raffia instead of Linen Thread, and my dp's are different. Thanks for stopping by!!

Santa Wishes

I haven't been making as many cards as I used to because I've been so busy with life. My foster child has lots of appointments, so I'm on the run a lot. This week, we have appointments every day except Friday. Anyway, I've been cooking a lot, too. I've been trying out some new recipes just to make things more interesting for everyone. I'm having a Stamp-a-Stack this month, so I need to get busy designing those cards! We will make ten cards; two each of five designs. I don't have much mojo, but I think it will come back as I go along. I love this hostess set from the Holiday Catalog. It's called "Christmas Wishes". I stamped Santa with Cherry Cobbler onto a piece of backing paper from some Framelits and then cut him out. The base card is Cherry Cobbler, and the dp is unknown. I just found it in my Christmas papers. The die cut piece was done with the Apothecary Accents large die out of Garden Green. Santa was popped up, and Dazzling Details was added to the eyebrows and mustache. I will add the other cards as I design them. Thanks for stopping by!!

Friend

The Magical Monday challenge over at "There's Magic in the Air with Paper Cupcakes" is called "Things with Wings." I used the Paper Cupcakes image called, "Aloha". It's such a cute image and works so well for a friendship type card. I made mine an easel card. I used Pretty In Pink, Pear Pizzazz and Whisper White card stocks and some Pretty In Pink polka dot DSP. The sentiment ("Friend") is from "Mixed Medley" which is a hostess set, and I punched it out with the new 1-1/4" Scallop Circle Punch. I used MS punches for the flowers. We hope you will join in on this challenge. You don't have to use a Paper Cupcakes image, but we hope you do. Thanks for stopping by!!

Hello!

The challenge over at "There's Magic in the Air with Paper Cupcakes" is to make a card to "Just Say Hello" to a new neighbor or a teacher or anyone you just want to say hello to. This image from Paper Cupcakes is called "Greetings", and it's a FREEBIE!!!. It's so cheerful! I used Tempting Turquoise for the base card with a layer of retired DSP. The mat is Pear Pizzazz as well as the Pleated Ribbon and Ribbon Seam Binding for the bow. I used the Decorative Label Punch for the Levi tag and the Word Window Punch for the sentiment. I punched with the Word Window Punch and then inserted the piece back into the punch to make it shorter. Everything is from Stampin' Up! except for the digi image from Paper Cupcakes. Thanks so much for stopping by!!!

Card Making Projects for August

I like to make a feminine card and a masculine card for our card makers group. Tonight we will make this little 4.25" square card. It could be for a fall birthday, thank you, or just a fall greeting. The base card is Pear Pizzazz with a layer of the new In-Color, Summer Starfruit, that was embossed with Perfect Polka Dots EF. The image, from "Four Seasons" (hostess) set, was colored with markers and stamped twice, once for the larger circle and once for the small one with the bird. They were punched with the 2-1/2" Circle Punch and the 1" Circle Punch. The bow was made with Certainly Celery Taffeta Ribbon. I made little envelopes that just fit these little square cards. Everything is from Stampin' Up!
The masculine card is also for the Twisted Sistahs Challenge which was presented by Tater. She asked us to make an ocean scene. I used "The Open Sea" set for the ship. An anchor is stamped inside and on the envelope. I used coordinating DSP (retired) and punched a strip with an SU! Border Punch. I sponged the image panel and added three Brass Brads (retired). Everything is from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!!

Red Corners (TSC0803, CCEE1231)

I finally inked up the "Young Vermillion" single stamp. I colored it with SU! Markers using the fine tips only. The Twisted Sistahs Challenge is to make fancy corners on our cards. I used an old SU! corner punch which has been retired for some time now. I also used Architectural Accents Sizzlit (part of a 4-pack) which I believe SU! had a few years ago. The base card is Real Red with a layer of Soft Suede which was embossed with a Woodgrain EF. The white flowers were punched with the four-petal punch from a Punch Pack (SU!) and the leaves were punched with the Bird Builder Punch. Oh yes, the CCEE Stampers challenge is to use RED on a card. Thanks for stopping by!!

Sending Sunshine!

The challenge over at "There's Magic in the Air" (Paper Cupcakes blog) is to use a doily on our cards. I used the Large Paper Doily Sizzlit from Stampin' Up! The image is from Paper Cupcakes and it's called, "Partly Sunny Today". The card is 5-3/8" square, and the base card is Pool Party with a layer of Domestic Goddess DSP. The image is colored with SU! Markers. I used Small and Large Circle Nesties to cut out the image and the Calypso Coral mat. The ribbon is Calypso Coral, and the sentiment, from the "Tiny Tags" set, is stamped in Calypso Coral ink and punched with the Tiny Tags Punch. Thanks for stopping by!!

Summer Birthday (TSC0727)

The Twisted Sistahs Challenge for this week was presented by Sillyfilly. Silly (aka Sylvia) asked us to make a fun summer card, using hot colors like orange, yellow, reds. Use two die cuts and a little bling. I went with mainly yellow. The base card is Yoyo Yellow with a layer of yellow gingham dp. My die cuts are the Classic Oval, OBDB Die and SU!'s Itty Bitty Banners Framelits. The flowers are from "Reason to Smile" and were stamped with Daffodil Delight, Black Stazon and Pumpkin Pie. The leaves were punched with the Bird Builder Punch and I added yellow rhinestones for the bling. Thanks for stopping by!!

Not Feeling Well?

I used an image from Paper Cupcakes called, "Not So Well" to make this card. The challenge over at "There's Magic in the Air" is to use something recycled on your card. I used a pop-top to make the "buckle". I wanted that plaid ribbon to look like a dog collar. I don't usually use red and yellow together, but I thought it looked cheerful and it matches that ribbon. The base card is Real Red with a layer of yellow gingham dp. The bone brad came from my friend, Greenie. The sentiment is from SU!'s "Teeny Tiny Wishes", and it's punched with the Word Window Punch and matted on the Modern Label punched piece. The image was colored with Copics. Thanks for stopping by!!

CASEing Sophie (FS285)

I haven't done a Featured Stamper Challenge in quite a while. I've been too busy lately to do ANY of the challenges except for the Twisted Sistahs and Paper Cupcakes. I have a foster child now who has special needs. That's been taking up a lot of my time lately. Anyway, the Featured Stamper for this week is SophieLaFontaine! I've been in her gallery before, but I never had a chance to really go through it like I did this morning. I chose to CASE her "Orange Mummy Cat" card. I was inspired by that little mummy kitty and really felt like making a Halloween card. I got a chance to use my new "Googly Ghouls" from Stampin' Up!'s new Holiday Catalog. I stamped the little mummy and cut him out; then I popped him up and added the Googly Eye. The sentiment is from "Grateful Greetings" and is stamped with VersaMark and embossed with Black EP. The card stocks are Crumb Cake, Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie and Whisper White. Everything is from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!!

Prov. 31:30 (TSC0720)

The Twisted Sistahs Challenge for this week was presented by 101Airborne. Kathy asked us to make a card or project using a sentiment only - no image. She also asked us to do some kind of distressing. This is definitely a hybrid. The die and scripture are from ODBD, the base card (Orchid Opulence, retired) is from Stampin' Up!, the dp is from the Dollar Store, the lace came from a teapotter in a "Tickle a Teapotter" card, the roses came from my friend, Greenie, and I used a Martha Stewart Punch for the leaves out of DCWV paper. This was really fun to make. Thanks for stopping by!!!

Lil' Dragon

This is one of the cards we will be making for our Friday Card Makers. The other card is the same as my previous post, "Can It!", except that the flowers are punched and embossed. This card was made using one of Kim Score's tutorials that I recently purchased. Her blog is called "Paper Punch Addiction". I thought this little dragon was so cute. I think I should have sponged the scales on his back, head and tail, though. I know my friends will enjoy making this!! Thanks for stopping by!

Can It! (TSC0713)

The Twisted Sistahs Challenge was presented by Wannabcre8ive. Shirley just asked us to doodle on our cards. I got a chance to play with some new stuff that will be available from Stampin' Up!'s Holiday Catalog on August 1st. I used the "Perfectly Preserved" stamp set along with the "Cannery" Framelits. The base card is Calypso Coral with a layer of "Domestic Goddess" DSP (retired). The main image panel was also matted on Calypso Coral. I used Pool Party, Calypso Coral, Pear Pizzazz inks and the Basic Brown Journaling Pen (retired). Everything is from Stampin' Up! except for the little roses which were from my friend, Greenie (aka irishgreensue). Thanks for stopping by!!

Good Times

Using Paper Cupcakes Freebie image for July and one of the sketches offered over at "There's Magic in the Air", I came up with this "Good Times" card. I think a Margarita cupcake sounds pretty good since it's been so hot all around the country. Below is the sketch I used:
I used Gumball Green for the base card, matting and vertical strip with the sentiment from "Celebrate Everything" (retired). All three pieces of DSP are Lucky Limeade DSP from the 2012-2013 In-Color tablet. The image is called "Margarita Cupcake", and it is a Freebie for July. I colored with Copics. Thanks for stopping by!!!

Thanks a Million (TSC0706)

This gets me caught up on the Twisted Sistahs Challenges. Marleygo was the presenter for this week's challenge. Lesley asked us to use the colors, Soft Suede, So Saffron and Regal Rose. Use dry AND heat embossing. Use doodling on our cards. The base card is Soft Suede with a layer of DSP (retired SAB) which is mainly So Saffron, and it is embossed with a Sizzix EF that I got through Greenie at Hobby Lobby in Kentucky. The flowers are Regal Rose, punched with the Flower Trio Punch (retired), embossed and sponged with Soft Suede. There's a couple of leaves punched with a Martha Stewart Punch out of So Saffron and also sponged with Soft Suede. The sentiment from "Word Play" was heat embossed with Gold EP. The doodling was done with a Gold Gel Pen. Thanks for stopping by!!!

Circus Birthday

I'm a week behind on everything! This is for last week's Twisted Sistahs Challenge which was presented by Wannabcre8ive. Shirley asked us to make a masculine card with wild life on it. Although my card has a circus theme, elephants are usually found in the wild. I also think the circus theme is more masculine than feminine. The stamps are from "You're Amazing". I used the new In-Color blue for the base card and matting. I think the paper is from DCWV, but I'm not sure. Thanks for stopping by!

Travel (TSC0615, TSC0622)

It's been a while since I posted a scrap book page. I killed a few birds with one stone for this one. First of all, the Twisted Sistahs Challenge for June 15th was presented by Tater. Phyllis asked us to use a travel theme for our project. Greenie (irishgreensue) presented the challenge for June 22nd. She asked us to use Pumpkin Pie, any green and Teal or Turquoise. The dessert option was to use a banner made of paper or ribbon. The Travel Journal DSP (retired) took care of most of that. I used Taken with Teal card stock (retired) for the matting and Taken with Teal Ink for the stamped images. The images are from "Sentimental Journey" (retired) stamp set. I'm sure glad I held on to those retired items! This page shows the Puddle Jumper that we had to take from the airport in St. Louis to Marion IL and back. The three ladies in the sun glasses are Kathy, Sue and Me. That's how they all greeted me at the airport in Marion! Not shown is Shirley because she was the photographer for this one. What a fun time we had!! Thanks for stopping by!!

July 4th Barbecue Invitation

I can't believe it's been two weeks since I've posted anything!! I've had ladies here to make gift cards and ladies here to make two cards as well, but I haven't had a chance to take photos and post. Well, I'm back with a card for the challenge over at "There's Magic in the Air." This challenge is to make an invitation to a party, any kind of party from baby shower to barbecue. Mine is an invitation to my annual July 4th barbecue and fireworks watching party. I used one of Nina's images which you can find over at Paper Cupcakes. This one is called "Flag Stamp with Flowers". The image was colored with Copics, cut out and matted on Red, White and Blue. The whole thing was adhered to a 4.25" X 5.5" white card stock. The back has all the info on where, why and when. Thanks for stopping by!!

One For The Boys (PCC061112)

The challenge for Paper Cup Cakes - There's Magic in the Air is to use "Mustache Cupcake" which is a Freebie Image and make a card that is male related. I have a friend who has a mustache, not a handlebar type, but he has one, and he's a dad, so I will give him this card for Father's Day. It would be nice to make a chocolate cupcake with caramel frosting, too!! I think the idea of making a mustache out of chocolate icing would be really cute! I'm on a diet, so don't tempt me! LOL! I used SU! Marina Mist for the base card and Cutie Pie Papers Raindrop Plaid for the next layer. I colored the cupcake image with Copics and die cut with Labels Two Nesties. The strips were made with the SU! Dotted Scallop Ribbon Punch which I think look good on masculine cards. The sentiment is from "Teeny Tiny Wishes" and the banner was die cut with SU! Framelits - Bitty Banners. Head on over to "There's Magic in the Air" and grab that freebie image and join us for this challenge. Thanks for stopping by!

I Love Being Spoiled (TSC0608)

I presented the Twisted Sistahs Challenge for this week. It was called, "It's Easy as 1, 2, 3." 1 (or more) Punch, 2 (or more) Nesties, and 3 (or more) buttons, brads or bows. There was a dessert option to use orange in any amount and anywhere on the card. I'm visiting with wannabcre8ive, irishgreensue, and 101 Airborne this weekend, so I'm in Illinois. We've been stamping in Shirley's craft room today. I made this card for the challenge. Since I was using all of Shirley's supplies, I have no idea what the card stocks and papers are called. The base card is orange with a layer of dp. One of the die cuts is also a dp. The Labels Two Nestie is white. I matched one of the dp's when I punched the leaves and used the same orange card stock as the base for the flowers. I used more than one punch, the two Nesties, three brown brads and there's lots of orange here. Thanks for stopping by!!

Gift Cards (CC378)

The Color Challenge on SCS is to use Certainly Celery, Daffodil Delight and Pool Party with a dessert option to use twine. I didn't do the dessert on these little gift cards. I bought these little plastic boxes that hold the 3 X 3 cards and envelopes perfectly. I've only made six so far, but I think ten will fit. I'm going to stop at eight because that's how many 3 X 6 pieces you can get out of a 12 X 12 sheet of card stock. This is what I want to do for the next Card Makers group next week. I think I'll let them use various punches and stamps to make each one different though. (If they want to) I used Whisper White, Pool Party DSP, Certainly Celery for the leaves and Daffodil Delight for the flowers. The flowers were punched with the 4-petal punch from the Punch Pack and then embossed and a White Gel Pen dot was added to the centers. The sentiment was from "Just Believe" and was stamped with Pool Party ink. Everything is from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!!

Shane's Birthday

This is a card I made for my daughter's friend, Shane. He's 21 today! She wanted it to have a bottle on it since he can now legally drink. He's not much of a drinker, but it's legal for him to go to a club where they serve alcohol now. You know how it is when you're young; you can't wait to turn 21. I didn't have a stamp of a bottle, so I went online and found the whiskey bottle and the sign. The stamped sentiment is from "Celebrate Everything" which I think has been retired for a while. The card is 5-3/8" square. The base card is Chocolate Chip with a layer of DCWV Glitter Stack card stock. I used Real Red, Pumpkin Pie and So Saffron for the matting. Thanks for stopping by!!!

June Birthday (TSC0601)

This week's Twisted Sistahs Challenge was presented by Sillyfilly. Sylvia asked us to make a card using shades of brown, pink and a neutral of our choice. There was a dessert option of pearls. The base card here is Soft Suede with a layer of Blushing Bride and then a layer of Beau Chateau DSP. The main image panel is a Beau Chateau Side Note. I colored the flowers on the Side Note and added Creative Memories alphabet stickers for the month, circled the day of the month that the birthday will take place and added a sentiment from "On Your Birthday". I added sheer ribbon and three pearls in the upper right corner. Everything except the ribbon and stickers is from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!

Birthday Wishes (PCC052812)

Isn't this a cute image? It's a digi image from Paper Cupcakes, and it's called "Birthday Wishes". I used it for the challenge over at "There's Magic in the Air" which is called "3 In a Row".
You pick any three items in a row, across, up and down or diagonally, and make a card accordingly. I went diagonally and used Punches, Brads and Bling. I used a punch for the balloons, there are three pink brads on the main image panel, and the bling is on the card stock I used for the second layer. It comes embossed with lots of glitter on it. All that glitter is enough bling, I think! The card stock is from DCWV's Nana's Kids stack. The base card is Wisteria Wonder. The lavender, pink, yellow, green and white card stocks are all from Stampin' Up! as well. I used "Teeny Tiny Wishes" for the sentiment and die cut that little banner with the new Framelits Bitty Banners. This card was fun to make and it will go to one of my grandchildren for their birthday. Thanks for stopping by!!!

Masculine Thanks #3 (LNS174)

Whew! Finally, I've completed the last masculine thank you for today!! For this one, I used "The Open Sea" which was in last year's Summer Mini. It has been brought back and is in the new Idea Book and Catalog. I think the "Nautical Expedition" DSP was from that mini as well, but I don't see it coming back. I used Cherry Cobbler card stock and ink. There's is something about that ink and me! I love Cherry Cobbler, but I seem to get it all over the place! LOL! I used lots of little pieces of Dimensionals for this. I stamped the anchor and cut it out and then popped it up on a 1-1/4" circle that is matted on a 1-3/8" circle (Cherry Cobbler). I popped up the main image panel and the Bitty Banner sentiment panel, too. Another simple card making use of some retired DSP. Everything is from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!!!

Masculine Thanks #2 (LNS174)

This is the second of the masculine Thank You cards I'm making today. I used "Plane & Simple" for the plane and "Teeny Tiny Wishes" for the sentiment. I also used Framelits - Bitty Banners for the sentiment and Framelits - Apothecary Accents for the main image panel. I die cut the Crumb Cake piece and then traced around the Framelit onto Not Quite Navy and then cut it out by hand for the mat. Again, I used Well Worn DSP. I don't know what I'll do without that DSP! I haven't used eyelets in some time now, but I thought it was a nice masculine embellishment. Everything is from Stampin' Up! Thanks again for stopping by!!

Masculine Thanks (LNS174)

Stampin' Up! Late Night Stampers Yahoo Group has had a challenge this past week to do masculine cards. I'm making three today for the men who cooked at our church Mother's Day Breakfast which we had here. They not only cooked, but they sure did a great job of cleaning up afterward! I think they left my kitchen cleaner than it was to begin with! LOL! I used Not Quite Navy along with Well Worn DSP to create this one. The stamp is a single stamp, "Sail Away". I won't be getting rid of this one any time soon!! Everything is from Stampin' Up!
Above is a photo of the three men doing their magic in the kitchen. They are Bill, Ike and Steve. Wonderful Guys!! Thanks for stopping by!!

One-Layer Card (C4C138)

Over at Crazy 4 Challenges, the challenge is to make a one-layer card. I made mine with heavy white card stock, Vintage Wallpaper Impressions Folder and a diffuser. I sponged inside the oval and stamped the flowers from "Bordering on Romance". The sentiment is from "Teeny Tiny Wishes" which has become my "Go To" set for sentiments lately. Everything except the card stock came from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!!

Honoring Queen Dawn (QFTD114)

Our Queen this week is TreasureOiler. I have always admired Dawn's talent. I chose to CASE her "Thanks so Much" card which she uploaded three years ago, almost to the day. I didn't want to change a thing, so my changes are very subtle. I used different DSP. Mine is Beau Chateau. I also changed the colors very slightly. I used Crumb Cake (Kraft) for the base card and Chocolate Chip for all of the matting. The stamps used are "Pocket Silhouettes" (retiring June 1, 2012) and "Teeny Tiny Wishes" for the sentiment. Everything is from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!!

Birthday Froggy (TSC0525)

The Twisted Sistahs Challenge for this week was presented by 101Airborne. Kathy (aka, Cuz) asked us to make a card with an animal image and sentiment on the front. We were also to use a die or punch and dry or heat embossing. I did all of the above. The instructions for Froggy are a part of one of Kim Score's tutorials called "In the Garden". I've been using those lately. You can purchase the whole collection on her blog, Paper Punch Addition. I used Baja Breeze for the base card with a layer of DSP that was embossed with Retro Circles (Tim Holtz/Sizzix). The lily pad is die cut using the Clear Circle Die and Garden Green card stock. Several SU! Punches were used to make the frog out of Wild Wasabi, Certainly Celery, Blushing Bride, Whisper White and Basic Black. The water lily flower was made using Pretty In Pink and Shimmery White card stocks. The sentiment is from "Teeny Tiny Wishes" and was die cut using the Bitty Banner Framelits. I used Wild Wasabi Embossing Powder and heat embossed the sentiment. Thanks for stopping by!!!

Mojo with Da Man (Mojo242)

I haven't done a Mojo Monday Sketch in a long time. I decided to do this week's sketch using what we lovingly call "Da Man". This guy from the Wild Wild West set is so popular! I stamped him on some retired DSP with Black Stazon. The base card is Basic Black with a layer of Sahara Sand that has been embossed with the Stripes Impressions Folder. The horizontal strip was made with the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Punch and I added a Vintage Brad. There's also some branches that I thought looked kind of like sage brush. Those were punched with a Martha Steward Punch. Everything is from Stampin' Up! except for the MS Punch. Thanks for stopping by!!

Thanks for Your Friendship (CAS171)

The Clean and Simple Challenge for this week is to follow a sketch by Tilly. This is VERY CAS. I used Naturals White for the base card which is 4-1/4" square when finished. The sentiment came from "Upsy Daisy" which is retiring. The flower from "Fabulous Florets" (my favorite set) was stamped twice with the new in-color, Primrose Petals. I cut one whole flower out and popped it up, then, I cut just the center petals and popped those up one the whole flower. I added Dazzling Details to the very center. Everything is from Stampin' Up! CASEing Candace (FS276, WT375)

The Featured Stamper this week is candylou. Candace is incredibly talented, and I'm amazed that I'm so unfamiliar with her work. I really enjoyed browsing through her gallery. I chose to CASE her "See Beyond" card. I changed colors, stamps, papers and the leaf embellishment. I also moved the sentiment to the circle and forgot to sponge the circle. I used Chocolate Chip Textured Card Stock, Pumpkin Pie card stock, Bashful Blue card stock, Naturals Ivory card stock and dp from DCWV. The ribbon is Chocolate Chip grosgrain ribbon and the leaves are from Michael's. This is also for the Ways To Use It challenge which was to use complimentary colors. I used blue and orange. Friday Card Makers Projects

Project #1 is a very simple masculine card using Well Worn DSP and the "Need for Speed" set. I used Naturals Ivory for the base card and main image panel and Early Espresso for the mat and photo corners. I also used Early Espresso ink for stamping and sponging. Everything used for this card is from Stampin' Up!
The first project was super simple because Project #2 is so complicated. I bought Kim Score's tutorial, "In the Garden", and followed her instructions to make the bee. The DSP has been retired for a long time, and the Summer Sun card stock has been retired for a year. The pleated Pear Pizzazz Ribbon is no longer available either. That cute little bee takes time to put together, but it's worth it. Everything used to make this card came from Stampin' Up! too.
This view is the inside of the bee card. I stamped a sentiment and the honey pot from "Just Buzzin' By" and colored the honey pot. I also added a birthday sentiment from "On Your Birthday" because this card will go to one of my grand daughters. This was really a fun card to make. Thanks for stopping by!!!
