Red Corners (TSC0803, CCEE1231)

I finally inked up the "Young Vermillion" single stamp. I colored it with SU! Markers using the fine tips only. The Twisted Sistahs Challenge is to make fancy corners on our cards. I used an old SU! corner punch which has been retired for some time now. I also used Architectural Accents Sizzlit (part of a 4-pack) which I believe SU! had a few years ago. The base card is Real Red with a layer of Soft Suede which was embossed with a Woodgrain EF. The white flowers were punched with the four-petal punch from a Punch Pack (SU!) and the leaves were punched with the Bird Builder Punch. Oh yes, the CCEE Stampers challenge is to use RED on a card. Honoring Queen Gail (CCEE1214, QFTD107, WT369)

This covers three challenges: CCEE Stampers Challenge CCEE1214 - to use an embossing folder, QFTD107 to honor Queen Gail (mamaxsix), and WT369 Ways To Use It Challenge to do coloring. I was inspired by Gail's Easter Daffodils card. I changed colors and layout but used the exact same stamp set. Her card was uploaded to SCS exactly one year ago today! This is for two challenges. The CCEE Stampers challenge is to focus on the sentiment. The Twisted Sistahs Challenge was presented by wannabcre8ive. Shirley asked us to use Sketch #358 AND use Real Red, Pretty in Pink and More Mustard. The sketch was the easy part, but those colors were tough to work with. I used the More Mustard for the base card and the scalloped mat. Real Red was used for mats, one being punched with an MS border punch. I used Pretty in Pink to die cut the butterflies using the Beautiful Wings Sizzlit, and I used Pretty in Pink Scallop Dot Ribbon. I also used a pink gingham dp. I used a lot of Whisper White on this. Sizzix Love Set Hearts EF was used on one layer, and I did some paper piercing on the square layer. The sentiment is from "Butterfly Prints". Chinese Good Luck (CCEE1211, QFTD104)

This is actually for three challenges. First, the CCEE Stampers Challenge is to add an international flair to your card with language, image or embellishment. I used the CB Mandarin Screen EF and a punched out Chinese symbol for Good Luck. The queen for a day is mepylant. Melina's gallery isn't huge, but it's packed full of beautiful projects. I was inspired by her Patterned paper pieces card that she did for a Sketch Challenge. Finally, over at Totally Stampalicious, the challenge is all about flowers. Using the MS Hydrangea punches, I punched, sponged and embossed the blooms. I used the SU! Clear Circle Die for the circle and 1-3/8" Circle Punch for the Chinese Symbol. I wanted to do another card for the Twisted Sistahs Challenge to have something that moves on the card. Well, the whole inside portion of a tunnel card does move. This is also for the CCEE Stampers Challenge which is all about flowers and the Crazy 4 Challenges which is to be inspired by spring, using flowers, baby animals, etc.

This view shows the inside of the tunnel card. I didn't realize that the markers would bleed through the Whisper White card stock. I'll have to remember that the next time I do one of these. Everything used to make this card is from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!!

This card covers three challenges. First, the CCEE Stampers Challenge is celebrating Chinese New Year, and we were to use either a dragon (because this is the year of the dragon) or use the Chinese Zodiac sign for the year we were born. I was born in the year of the pig, but I don't have any pig images, so I found one online. Piglet!! He's a cutie! I thought the "Thinking of You" sentiment from "Teeny Tiny Wishes" went so well with his look! The Ways to Use It Challenge is called, "Sew Beautiful", and we were to either use stitching, faux stitching or images having to do with sewing. I got out my sewing machine and stitched on this card. The CCEE Stampers Challenge for this week is a sketch challenge. First of all, my camera seems to have washed out the green face and hand, so you'll have to use your imagination on that. This is for two challenges. The Crazy 4 Challenges challenge is to make a clean and simple card for fall, and the CCEE Stampers Challenge is to make a fall card, too. I chose to go with a Halloween theme. This took no time at all to make, too. I just scored a frame with my Simply Scored board, added the paper rick-rack, die cut Frank and stamped the sentiment from "Smarty Pants". I had a very busy day yesterday, so there's no new cards to post for Thursday. Today, I managed to do some stamping though. The Twisted Sistahs Challenge for this week was presented by irishgreensue. Greenie asked us to make an easel card in shades of purples and greens with white or ivory. We had to have three layers or more on the front, and Nesties were welcome. I used Rich Razzleberry Textured Card Stock with Whisper White and Pocketful of Posies DSP. The leaves that were die cut were from a scrap of Lucky Limeade and sponged with Early Espresso. The stamped leaves were from "French Foliage." The sentiment over the stamped leaves is from "Grateful Greetings" and the other sentiment is from "Always Thankful." This is also for the CCEE Stampers Challenge which is to make a fall card with something die cut on it. The whole card is die cut using the Clear Scallop Square Die, plus I used Nesties and the Little Leaves Sizzlit. Everything except the Nesties came from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!

Go Giants! (CCEE1123, TSC0610)

It just so happens that the Twisted Sistahs Challenge which was presented by our lovely driver, wannabcre8ive, was to make a baseball themed card in the colors of our favorite team AND the CCEE Stampers challenge is to make a sports themed card as well, so I combined the two. I have no baseball related stamps, so I just used a Sizzix alphabet set (Cattycorner) to create the sentiment, punched a circle and drew the seams and stitches, and drew the "trail" lines with a 2-Way Glue Pen and added Dazzling Diamonds. The card stocks are Tangerine Tango, Basic Black and Whisper White. Everything except the alphabet set is from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!!!

The CCEE Stampers Challenge is to add a butterfly to your card. I think these butterflies are making that bear happy! The Ways To Use It Challenge is to make a card for a boy. I think this would make a nice card for a boy. I tried to make the bear look happy instead of scary. The Color challenge for this week is Certainly Celery, Bashful Blue and Baja Breeze. I have a lot of neutrals here, but the main image panel IS those colors! The card is 4.25" square, and I used Naturals Ivory, Baja Breeze, Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery, Crumb Cake and Whisper White card stocks. The bear and sentiment are from "Under the Stars". No Butterflies (CCEE1115, SC329)

First of all, last Thursday's CCEE Stampers Challenge was to use pink and black. I'm sure late with that, but I still wanted to do it and I just haven't had time until now. This is also for this week's Sketch Challenge. Roxie had to put it on her blog, Paper Scraper, because she could get online but not on SCS last night or this morning. That's what I call dedication though! Her sample had butterflies on it, and many others did too. I left off the butterflies so that you can see how the new Triple Layer Blossom Punch works. It punches three different ways and you can use all the pieces in so many different ways. Here, I punched the white with the third setting and the pink with the second and overlapped the white on the pink. I popped up the blossom on the black that was punched with the Scallop Circle Punch, and that was popped up too. I used a 1/4" Circle Punch for the centers of the blossoms. I used the same punch to punch the black circles that I put the Basic Jewels Rhinestones on. The sentiment is from "Fundamental Phrases". Top it off with Basic Black Satin Ribbon, and there you go! The CCEE Stampers Challenge is to NOT use any buckles, buttons, bows or brads. I didn't. Lois (aka Clownmom) is the Queen this week. I CASEd her "Just Butterflies" card. I changed the colors and stamps, added a sentiment, used die cut butterflies instead of punched and I used a punched strip at the bottom. Oh, and there's no paper piercing on mine. The Twisted Sistah's Challenge was presented by Brat Cards. Terri asked us to make a card with an unexpected surprise inside. When the card is opened, all those extra butterflies will fall out. My Doggie (CCEE1111)

The CCEE Stampers Challenge is to use a cutie patootie image wearing something green. I used this Chihuahua image for another challenge, and I think it was a coloring page. I don't even remember what that challenge was or where I found the image. I colored the image with Water Color Pencils and blended with a Blender Pen and baby oil. I gave him a green collar (with tiny gold half pearls) and a green sombrero. I used some retired card stock: Yoyo Yellow and Green Galore. The other piece was a scrap of Pumpkin Pie that I embossed with the CB Spots n' Dots folder. I colored him like my own Chihuahua dog, Pipsqueak.
Pip is a black and tan Deer Type Chihuahua. He has the deer head which has a longer snout than most Chihuahuas, and he has deer legs which are long and skinny, and that makes him taller than most Chihuahuas. He's still only 7 pounds and he's almost 6 months old. Thanks for stopping by!!!

This is for the CCEE Stampers Challenge which is to create a monochromatic card with blues. I used Not Quite Navy for the base card, mats and ink, and I used some retired DSP that is mainly Baja Breeze. The ribbon is Baja Breeze Ribbon Seam Binding as well. The Our Daily Bread Designs Stamping In Time challenge is a theme: Glass/Crystal/Clear. We could use embellishments, a technique or verses that convey the theme. We were to use ODBD stamps, too. I used "He Will Rise" and "Tulip Tag Set" stamps. I also used SU!'s Basic Jewels in the corners for the theme. I used the new ODBD exclusive Spellbinders Nestie and Stampin' Up! punches. The Spotted Canary challenge is to make a card that represents spring. The Easter celebration certainly represents spring. Everything here is from Stampin' Up! except for the ODBD stamps. Let Me Do It Now (ODBDSLC51, CCEE1109)

The challenge over at Our Daily Bread Designs Blog is a color challenge. We are to choose two colors from pink, blue, yellow or ivory. My two colors are blue and ivory. The challenge for this week at the CCEE Stampers Blog is to use swirls. The stamped image above the quote has swirls as well as the die cut pieces on either end of the main image panel. I just got my order of new stamps from ODBD. I used the "Eternity" set for this card. The base card is Naturals Ivory, and the DSP is Springtime Vintage from the Occasions Mini Catalog. I stamped the quote with Black Stazon. Then, I stamped the frame with Versamark and embossed with Silver EP. I stamped the scroll above the quote with Versamark and again embossed with Silver EP. The die cuts on the ends were cut from Not Quite Navy card stock with the Cuttlebug Ornamental Die which I received as a gift from Pat Smethers. I may have gone a little overboard with those silver pearls, but when I put three on each end, I had four left, so I just used them all! LOL! The little flowers were punched, sponged and embossed, and tiny silver pearls were added to the centers. The leaves were punched with a Martha Stewart Leaf Punch and sponged. Triple Challenge Card (CCEE1107, TSC0218, WT310)

This is for three challenges; two Thursday challenges and one Friday Challenge. First, the CCEE Stampers challenge was to do some scoring on our cards. You can barely see the scoring around three sides of the main image panel, but it's there. Next, the Ways To Use It challenge was to use silhouettes which I did by stamping the girl from "Easter Blossoms", and I also sponged that panel with Regal Rose and Old Olive. Finally, our Twisted Sistahs Challenge is to use the Faux Silk technique. After sponging with the pink and green, I covered the whole image with Tombow Glue. I stamped the branch on white tissue paper, crumpled it up, and then I placed it over my main image that was covered with glue. I rubbed out most of the wrinkles, and then I colored the branch, flowers and leaves with SU! Markers. I like how this turned out. Everything except the sheer ribbon is from Stampin' Up! It's late, but I just had to make a card for the Twisted Sistahs Challenge which was presented by Brat Cards (aka Brat Girl). Terri challenged us to make a card with something NOT seen in nature. I told her I was going to make a card with a purple deer driving a car because you don't see THAT in nature! LOL! Use your imagination. Only a purple deer would have windows on a car tinted turquoise! You can't see him, but there's a purple deer driving that car. This also fits the CCEE Stampers challenge which is to use embossing folders. I used the diamonds in the rough folder. That Snag 'em Stamps Vroom stamp just cried out Clean and Simple, so that's what I did. How do you like those colors, huh? Real Red and Tempting Turquoise, wow! Baby It's Cold Outside! (CCEE1103, WT306)

Here's two challenges: CCEE Stampers Challenge to use a penguin on a card and the Ways To Use It Challenge to use gradient inks. The penguin was a dollar stamp by Hampton Arts which I stamped, colored with SU! Markers, cut out and popped up. The snowflakes are from "Snow Swirled", and I stamped them with the Blue Frost Spectrum Pad. Stampin' Up! used to offer four Spectrum Pads, and as soon as I bought this one, they retired all of them. I never used it until now. I'm surprised it wasn't dried out! The base card is Brocade Blue, also retired, and I used the Cuttlebug Distressed Snow folder from the Winter Bundle (Last year?). Well, you SAID checks!!! (CCEE1101)

The CCEE Stampers Challenge was to use checks, so I did!! The base card is Real Red and so is the matting. The checkered DSP is Pawsitively Prints. The main image from "Long Fellows" (hostess) set is stamped with Black Stazon on Whisper White, and the spots were colored in with the Basic Black Marker.
