Giraffe (SC343)

Well, I only missed one day this time. Yesterday I made a belated birthday card for my grand daughter, but put it in the envelope with stamp and all and forgot to photograph and post it! Oh well, I'm back today.

The four vertical panels make this sketch interesting. I used giraffe print paper for those. I've had it around for scrap booking for about 15 years! I embossed the horizontal panel and added some raffia. The card stocks are Naturals Ivory, Chocolate Chip and River Rock. I stamped the image from "Zoo Review" with Chocolate Chip Classic Ink and colored with Chocolate Chip and River Rock Markers. I did some sponging with the Chocolate Chip Ink as well. Everything here is from stampin' Up! except for the embossing folder and the dp. Thanks for stopping by!!!

Sail Away (TSC0729)

Well, I'm doing better than I did last week. Last week I only posted a card on Monday. This week it's Monday and Friday, so I'm getting back in the swing of things. I just got some new stamps, so I'll be posting more cards this weekend. I've just been so busy with other things in my life. I did give a lot of stuff for the Special Olympics yard sale/bake sale. I still have to bake my cupcakes though. Anyway, things are simmering down a bit, so I might be able to get back into my old cycle.

This card is for the Twisted Sistahs Challenge which was presented by our fearless leader, wannabcre8ive. Shirley asked as to think about the ocean, using swimmers, boats, whales and such and use ribbon or baker's twine plus at least one embellishment. I went with the boat. I used the single stamp, "Sail Away" and masked and sponged. I used the Cherry Cobbler/White Baker's Twine and some shell beads I had. The background is embossed with the Square Lattice EF. The card stocks are Night of Navy, Marina Mist and Naturals Ivory. Everything except the shells came from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!!

A tag on a bag on a tag on a bag (CAS128)

It's been a whole week since I've posted anything! Wow! I've just been so busy with life! I'll try to do better this week, but my son's on a Special Olympics team and has practices three times a week, and we're cleaning up my side yard and trying to get ready for a yard sale for the team. I've been so busy that I haven't had time to stamp!! I'll try to make some time this week though.

This little 3 X 3 card will be the tag on the bag that I'm giving one of the secret sisters for her birthday in August. I've already made the tissue box cover to go into the bag. The Clean & Simple Challenge was all about TAGS, so I made the tiny tag to hang on the recycled bag on this little card that will be my tag. LOL! Everything except the recycled bag is from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!

Wishes (CAS127)

The Clean & Simple Challenge for this week is an inspiration challenge. We were to find our inspiration from this photo. My inspiration came from the colors and the palm tree. I stamped the palm tree from "Plant Hope" with Versamark and embossed with Wild Wasabi Embossing Powder and then cut it out. The card base is Pink Pirouette, and the punched strip is Wild Wasabi. The sentiment is from "Heard from the Heart." Everything used to make this card came from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!!

CASEing Teri (FS232)

Our Featured Stamper this week is teristampsalot. Teri has a fun, whimsical gallery with lots of clean and simple cards. I love it! I chose to CASE her "Thanks for Everything" card. I changed it from a Thank You card to a birthday card, and I used "Pennant Parade" to stamp my pennants and the new Pennant Punch to punch them out. Instead of using bling, I used Crystal Effects on the little balloons popping up from the sentiment. The sentiment is from "Curls & Swirls Verses" which is a hostess set in the Summer Mini. Everything used to make this card came from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!!!

Bark! Bark! (TSC0715)

Marleygo, aka Lesley, presented the Twisted Sistahs challenge this week. We were to use an embossing folder, a border punch and something metal. I used a paw print embossing folder, the Scallop Border Punch, and the "Dog" brad is metal. The set was given to me by Greenie (irishgreensue) as well as the brad. The card stocks are Basic Black, Rose Red, Orchid Opulence and Whisper White. I used Basic Black Ink and a Rose Red Marker. Thanks for stopping by!!

Three Daisies (LNS129, MMTPT154, SC341)

Above is the inspiration picture for this week's SU! Late Night Stamper's Challenge. I was inspired by the colors in the carpet, wallpaper, the white seat back, lamp, table and chair, and the yellow bowl.
This is also for this week's tea party. We were supposed to bring three daisies to the party. I think this card is going to a lady who is battling breast cancer. I used this week's sketch as well. I almost made this for this week's TSC, but I forgot the border punched piece, so it's back to the drawing board for that one. Everything used here except the Nestie is from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!!

Remember When (CAS126)

This week's Clean & Simple Challenge was to be inspired by this sketch by mom2n2. I used Rose Red for the base card and So Saffron and Wild Wasabi for two more scalloped rows. I used Tea Party DSP for the top layer and ran the "Rough Around the Edges" Jumbo Wheel over it with Wild Wasabi Ink. The scallops were done with the Scallop Border Punch, and the sentiment is from "Word Play". I used Rose Red Ribbon Seam Binding for the bow with a Brights Flower Brad. The bow is attached with a Pop-up Glue Dot (I don't know what I'll do when I run out of those because they're retired). Everything used here came from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!!!

CASEing Patter (FS231)

This week's Featured Stamper is IdenticalTriplets. Patter has a very interesting gallery with cards, lots of scrap booking and photos of craft room organization. I decided not to make a card, but instead, I did a scrap book page. I was inspired by her "Your Thoughts" page. I was inspired by her layout and colors. This is an 8-1/2" X 8-1/2" page. For this scrap book, I chose to keep all titles four letters or less and have a scalloped border on the outside edge of every page. I used Crumb Cake for the base with Certainly Celery and a dp from "Friends & Flowers" which is a retired Simply Scrappin' Kit. I used scraps for all the flowers, title and journaling block. The title was made with Garden Delight Alpha Set, and I used various Stampin' Up! punches for everything else except the butterfly which is a sticker from the Dollar Tree store. I did this yesterday, but didn't have time to post until this morning. The photo is one of my square foot gardens that we recently planted. We're having a very short growing season this year since we had freezing temperatures in early June. Thanks for stopping by!!

Honoring Queen Roxie (TSC0708, QFTD68)

I'm sorry about the fuzzy photo, but I guess I was too close. Brat Cards (Terri) presented the Twisted Sistahs Challenge for this week. She asked us to use something that was not purchased for card making. I just went through some old jewelry and found a pair of earrings that had no stone in one of them. This is a photo of that one broken earring before I snipped off the top ring and added the big rhinestone.
Here's my card with the earring and some extra rhinestones above it. This is also for the Queen For The Day Challenge. This week, we are honoring Rox71. Roxie is our Sketch Challenge hostess, and what a talented card maker she is!! ALL of her cards are great. I chose to CASE the card she made exactly one year ago today. It's called "Polka Dots and Camellia". I used a different floral stamp set, embossed the background instead of stamping, and I used my broken earring and rhinestones instead of the brads. Everything used to make this card (except the broken earring) is from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!

July 2011 Club Projects (SC340)

I've been busy the past couple of days with family and then yard work. After a very busy day yesterday, my daughter and I went into my craft room to start on the cards for tonight's club.
I wanted to use sets from the new catalog. This birthday card is pretty simple, and it uses "Pennant Parade" along with the retired "All About Birthdays" Jumbo Wheel. The DSP is "Just Add Cake." My daughter stamped all the "cones" and punched them out with the Pennant Punch. I punched the "ice cream" with the Cupcake Punch, and she used the same punch to punch out the cherries which she colored with Markers. The ladies will use the wheel and then assemble everything, so this will be a quick card, giving everyone more time to browse through the new catalog. For our second project, I used this week's sketch. The base card is Crumb Cake and the DSP is Paisley Petals. I used the new "Cherish Friendship" set for the chair, stamping with Black Stazon on Water Color Paper. The sentiment from "Happy Greetings" (Summer Mini) was stamped on Naturals Ivory with Chocolate Chip Ink. The corners on those two panels were rounded and then they were sponged with Chocolate Chip. The ribbon and bow are Certainly Celery with a Glimmer Brad on the bow. Everything used on both cards is from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!!

CASEing Cindy (FS230)

This week's Featured Stamper is cjoy. Cindy has a gallery full of great cards. She's another SU! Demo, so I'll be going back to her gallery for ideas. I also checked out her blog where she has some wonderful stuff. I chose to CASE her "Tea for Two" card. I used different DSP and border punch, and I used the retired "Dilly Dally Friends" Jumbo Wheel on the bottom half. Everything here is from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!!

Honoring Queen Nancy (QFTD67)

Our queen this week is nwilliams6. It took me two days to decide which card I wanted to CASE! I told my daughter that I wanted to CASE this card, and she said, "You want to make a card with a snowman on it???" I told her I wanted to make a white on white card, but instead of drawing a frame (because I'm too shaky today) I wanted to use a mat for a frame, and instead of stamping an image, I wanted to use punched things like stars, hearts or flowers. She was the one who suggested using the black mat and brightly colored flowers. We got out a bunch of flower punches, and she got out the scrap basket and went to work punching out flowers. This is what we came up with. I used the "Swirls & Curls Verses" hostess set for the sentiment, coloring the tiny flowers with markers. We used the Boho Blossoms Punch, Flower Trio Punch, Four Petal Flower Punch from the Punch Pack and a Martha Stewart Punch for the leaves. I used a Flower Brad in the center of the largest flower and the White Gel Pen for the centers of all the smaller flowers. Nancy puts "PT:" and a number to indicate how many times she used punches at the end of her descriptions. My "PT" is 15! Everything used to make this card except for the Martha Stewart Leaf Punch came from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!
