The Color Challenge on SCS is to use Basic Black, Calypso Coral and Baja Breeze. My base card is Basic Black, I stamped the sentiment (Vintage Verses) in black, and I embossed the coral (By the Tide) with Black EP. I used Baja Breeze for the layer on the black. I stamped the fish (By the Tide) with Calypso Coral, cut it out and colored in the light spaces with the Baja Breeze Marker. The fish is popped up with a dimensional. I got extra ink on the card (AGAIN) when I stamped the sentiment, so I added the starfish bead. Otherwise, everything is from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!!

Gift Cards (CC378)

The Color Challenge on SCS is to use Certainly Celery, Daffodil Delight and Pool Party with a dessert option to use twine. I didn't do the dessert on these little gift cards. I bought these little plastic boxes that hold the 3 X 3 cards and envelopes perfectly. I've only made six so far, but I think ten will fit. I'm going to stop at eight because that's how many 3 X 6 pieces you can get out of a 12 X 12 sheet of card stock. This is what I want to do for the next Card Makers group next week. I think I'll let them use various punches and stamps to make each one different though. (If they want to) I used Whisper White, Pool Party DSP, Certainly Celery for the leaves and Daffodil Delight for the flowers. The flowers were punched with the 4-petal punch from the Punch Pack and then embossed and a White Gel Pen dot was added to the centers. Stripes (TSC0504)

This is actually for four challenges. Brat Cards presented the Twisted Sistahs Challenge. Terri asked us to combine three challenges from SCS for the week. On Tuesdays, besides the Tea Party Challenge, there's a color challenge. This week's Color Challenge was to use Wild Wasabi, Pumpkin Pie and Bashful Blue. There was also a dessert option which was to make the card a birthday card for a man or boy. On Wednesdays, there's a Sketch Challenge. I used this week's sketch for my layout. On Thursdays, there's the Ways To Use It Challenge. This week, we were to do some distressing. I distressed the main image panel and mat plus the sentiment panel and mat. I used heavy white card stock for the base card, main image panel and sentiment panel. There's a layer of retired Bashful Blue Prints DSP and then a layer of Pumpkin Pie DSP. The matting and the horizontal strip are Wild Wasabi. The horizontal strip was embossed with the Stripes Impressions Folder. All sponging was done with Pumpkin Pie Ink. I haven't been able to participate in the color challenge for a while, but today, I've got a little time. Actually, this card didn't take much time at all. The DSP did all the work. The colors for this week are Elegant Eggplant, Concord Crush and Melon Mambo. The Cheerful Treats DSP is a hostess gift, and it has the colors needed for today's challenge. The base card is Concord Crush. Below the DSP is Elegant Eggplant that has been embossed with the Hounds-tooth folder. I used Melon Mambo Polka Dot Ribbon to separate the two parts. The sentiment is from "Elegant Cheer" (retired) and was stamped on Whisper White with Elegant Eggplant Ink. The mat is also Elegant Eggplant. The flowers were punched from Melon Mambo with the Flower Trio Punch (retired) and the 4-petal Punch Pack Punch. Tiny pearls are in the centers. This card covers three challenges. First, the CCEE Stampers Challenge is celebrating Chinese New Year, and we were to use either a dragon (because this is the year of the dragon) or use the Chinese Zodiac sign for the year we were born. I was born in the year of the pig, but I don't have any pig images, so I found one online. Piglet!! He's a cutie! I thought the "Thinking of You" sentiment from "Teeny Tiny Wishes" went so well with his look! The Ways to Use It Challenge is called, "Sew Beautiful", and we were to either use stitching, faux stitching or images having to do with sewing. I got out my sewing machine and stitched on this card. The Color Challenge for this week is to use Pretty In Pink, Pink Pirouette and Rose Red. I used Pink Pirouette for the base card, Whisper White for the punched border and the main panel, and Pretty In Pink for the sentiment strip. I colored with markers and used Rose Red in the flower centers. I messed up on my stamping, so I colored a few more flowers from the bad piece, cut it out and added to the side of the panel. I used Rhinestone Brads at the top and bottom. That die cut main panel was popped up on Dimensionals. I love the Edgelits and Framelits dies! This is for two challenges. First, the Color Challenge on SCS is to use Blushing Bride, Riding Hood Red and Baja Breeze. I wasn't sure how I was going to get the red in there, so I used it for the base card. I sure do like the Blushing Bride and Baja Breeze together! This is also for the SUO Challenge. Their challenge was to use a technique that we don't ordinarily use. I hardly ever do paper piercing anymore, so I did that, and I don't do much two-step stamping. I'm not good at it with the clear stamps. When I use the wood mounted stamps with the Stamp-a-ma-jig, I'm much more successful. I'll have to remember to buy all two-step stamps sets in wood! The set I used for this was "Simply Soft" which is a hostess set that I really like. I added Baja Breeze Ribbon Seam Binding with a Rhinestone Brad made into a "Mary Brown" bow! Wow! I haven't done a Color Challenge in a while! In fact, I haven't made a card in a week! Well, the holidays are here and everyone's so busy anyway. I'm sure you all can relate. This challenge was to use Wisteria Wonder, Lucky Limeade and Calypso Coral. It's a nice break away from Christmas colors. The base card is Wisteria Wonder with a Whisper White die cut piece (SU!'s Top Note die). The vine (Fanciful Flourish) is Lucky Limeade and the punched/embossed flowers are Calypso Coral. The sentiment and hummingbird (SU!'s Elements of Style) were stamped with Wisteria Wonder ink. The Color Challenge on SCS is to use Cherry Cobbler, Night of Navy and Crumb Cake with a dessert option of using something from the kitchen. I used part of a cereal box and embossed it for my background layer instead of using Crumb Cake for that. The base card is Cherry Cobbler, the mat is Night of Navy and so is the ink, and the main image panel is Very Vanilla. I used Crumb Cake Ribbon Seam Binding for the ribbon and knot. I used an SU! Fabulous (CC327, SC337)

"Fabulous" as in "Fabulous Florets" which is my current favorite stamp set. I used this week's sketch and this week's color challenge colors for this card. The color challenge is to use Very Vanilla, Chocolate Chip and Old Olive. The dessert option is to round one corner, so I did that on the main image panel. The base card is Naturals Ivory, then, there's a layer of Chocolate Chip and then a layer of Old Olive. The horizontal strip is more Chocolate Chip and Old Olive DSP (retired). The main image panel is Very Vanilla matted on Chocolate Chip. I stamped the leaves with Old Olive and the flowers with Timber Brown Stazon (retired). The main panel is popped up and so are the cut out flowers. I added Old Olive Brads at the rounded corner. I have them, but I don't use them often enough. The CCEE Stampers Challenge is to add a butterfly to your card. I think these butterflies are making that bear happy! The Ways To Use It Challenge is to make a card for a boy. I think this would make a nice card for a boy. I tried to make the bear look happy instead of scary. The Color challenge for this week is Certainly Celery, Bashful Blue and Baja Breeze. I have a lot of neutrals here, but the main image panel IS those colors! The card is 4.25" square, and I used Naturals Ivory, Baja Breeze, Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery, Crumb Cake and Whisper White card stocks. The bear and sentiment are from "Under the Stars". The Color Challenge for this week is to use Certainly Celery, Bashful Blue and Baja Breeze with a dessert option to do some embossing of any kind. I embossed the little flowers. The Teapot Tuesday Challenge is to be inspired by a teapot that had a blue bird on it. We are to send our cards to the person who is to the left of us in the gallery. Great idea to send cards to each other!! This is also for the Sketch Challenge for this week. I think I might be caught up already!! I used Bashful Blue for the base card, and I used Bashful Blue DSP (retired) and Taffeta Ribbon. I used Baja Breeze for the mat and the ink to stamp the birdie from "Punch Potpourri" (hostess). I used Certainly Celery for the leaves and 1/2" circles. The sentiment from "Sincere Salutations" was stamped with Black Stazon. I used the Bird & Branch Punch for the bird and leaves and the 4-petal flower from the Punch Pack for the white flowers. The centers were done with the Bashful Blue marker. I want to do so many challenges, but I just don't have the time, so I have to combine them. This is for the Color Challenge which is to use Concord Crush, Ivory and Crumb Cake. The dessert option is NO dp. I embossed the vanilla panel for my background. The Teapot Tuesday Challenge is to bring tulips to the party. I used ODBD Tulip Corner stamp and the Tulip Tag set for the verse. The Shining the Light Challenge at Our Daily Bread Designs is to do NO coloring. We can sponge a background but NO coloring. I sponged the Very Vanilla panel with Concord Crush ink, making sure that it was just slightly darker in the corners where the tulip flowers would be. I stamped the Tulip Corner with Versamark and heat embossed with Gold EP. The verse was stamped with Black Stazon. This card is for four challenges in a row. Tuesday's Color Challenge for this week is to use So Saffron, Pretty In Pink and Pear Pizazz. There's a dessert option which is to use punches which I did. Yesterday's Sketch Challenge had several layers, and I already did a card for the challenge, but I used that layout again for this card. Today's Ways To Use It Challenge was called "Hey People!". We were to use images of people on our cards. I used the two little girls from "The Nicest Things". Tomorrow's Twisted Sistahs Challenge was presented by irishgreensue (aka Greenie or Sue). She challenged us to make a card with paper piecing and something popped up for dimension. She gave us a dessert option, too. We could use buttons on our cards. The pink dress bottom is paper pieced with the same DSP as the first matted layer. The green dress is paper pieced with DSP from the In-Color Paper Pack (hostess), and it's Pear Pizazz. The yellow apron is paper pieced with some retired So Saffron DSP. I actually stamped the basket again and colored it with markers before cutting it out and paper piecing that. The medallion is popped up and has a sentiment from a new stamp set called, "A Touch of Kindness". It will be available in May from the Summer Mini. The buttons are Pretty in Pink from a retired Soft Subtles Button Collection, and I tied bows using White Bakers Twine (also in the Summer Mini). This week's Color Challenge is Baja Breeze, Poppy Parade and Pear Pizazz. I used Pear Pizazz DSP from the In-Color Pack (Hostess) and layered it on a Naturals White base card. The image is a coloring page from AnimalJr.com, and I colored it with SU! Markers. I added grass punched with the Martha Stewart Grass Edge Punch. The mats are Baja Breeze and Poppy Parade. The butterflies are punched with a Martha Stewart butterfly punch and sponged to look like the one the kitty is playing with. The Teapot Tuesday Challenge is to bring cats and butterflies to the party. The card will go to a lady in Idaho who has had serious health issues and needs some love and encouragement AND prayer. The sentiment inside from "Butterfly Prints" says, "Love is like a butterfly... it goes where it pleases and pleases where it goes." The Color Challenge on SCS is to use Marina Mist, Certainly Celery and Baja Breeze with a dessert option to use a bird or birds. This is also for the Sketch Challenge. The original card had a ribbon down the left side, but I had no room because I used a Paper Daisy sponged with Baja Breeze with a Glimmer Brad in the center. I used that flower because, when punching with the MS "Punch Around the Page" set (Corner and Border Punches), I goofed up in one corner, so I covered that up with the flower. Everything used to make this card is from Stampin' Up! except for the punches. I used Marina Mist and Certainly Celery card stocks with Whisper White for the main panel and the birds. This week's Color Challenge is to use Soft Suede, Baja Breeze and Crumb Cake with any neutrals. The dessert option is to make it glossy, glittery, flower soft, etc. I made it glossy by embossing the main image, the frame and the sentiment with Clear Embossing Powder. The frame is Soft Suede, but when you emboss it, it looks much darker. The Teapot Tuesday Challenge is to use a frame on the card. This goes to a little girl who is battling cancer. Owl Punch Rose (CC312)

Two challenges in one day!! This is for the Color Challenge on SCS which is to use Marina Mist, Certainly Celery and Rose Red. I also used Whisper White. I forgot the dessert part which was to use a banner, but that's optional, I think. The rose petals are formed from the owl punch. I found this video tutorial on another blog which gives step-by-step instructions for making the rose. I used the Celery ink instead of card stock and stamped the 2-step leaves from "A Rose is a Rose" set (retired). I sponged the edges of the leaves with Celery and Rose Red inks. Flower Power (CC300, SC310)

This card is for two challenges on SCS. First, I used this week's sketch. Most people used designer paper for those two horizontal panels, but I just used embossed card stock. Secondly, I did this week's color challenge. Since it's challenge #300, it's a celebration, and we were to use any one of the previous color combos. I chose #277 which was Dusty Durango, Crushed Curry and Bermuda Bay. Those were the In-colors from last year that got retired. It's not an easy combo to work with either! The base card is Basic Black with a layer of Bermuda Bay and embossed Dusty Durango panels matted in black. In the space between the horizontal panels, I stamped tiny flowers from "Picnic Parade" (retired hostess set). I used two different Impressions Folders to emboss. The main image panel is Whisper White matted on black with flowers stamped on Crushed Curry using the "Fast & Fabulous" (hostess set). I mounted the cut flowers at three different levels using Dimensionals and recycled foam. The three little flowers at the top were punched using the Boho Blossoms and Punch Pack Flower Punches, sponged and embossed. Their centers were done with a black marker. This is for the Color Challenge on SCS which is to use Rich Razzleberry, Tangerine Tango and So Saffron with any neutral. The dessert option was to use White, either gel pen or embossing. I used the gel pen to make the dots on the Tangerine mats. I have a couple of friends over today to stamp together, and one of the ladies has a 6" X 6" pack of DP. She gave me the paper I used here because it went well with the Razzleberry and Saffron. I got the chicken image, background and sentiment from my friend and fellow Twisted Sistah, coffeestamper, a.k.a. Perk, etc. Also, the Teapot Tuesday Challenge had to do with computers.
