Simple Thank You

I need to make several Thank You cards. My mom passed away about a month ago, and there are so many people who have sent cards, brought meals, brought food for the pot luck after the memorial and many other acts of kindness. This is a CAS card. Just white card stock with SU! dsp and a popped up main image panel. The flower stamp is from "Remarkable You". My mother's favorite color was purple. Thanks for stopping by.

Halloween 2013

I just made this card because I wanted to make a Halloween card. LOL! I also wanted to use an Action Wobble. I love those things. The Jack-o-lantern wiggles and wobbles if you flick it. The dp came from my stash and I don't know where I got it. The bat punch is from Martha Stewart, and everything else is from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!!!

Spring Break

My son took this photo out of the window of the train that goes all the way around Knott's Berry Farm. Friday, we left home, east of Reno, and headed south to southern California. We're in Buena Park. It's Spring Break for us and we have already been to Knott's Berry Farm twice and went to the beach on Easter Sunday. Yesterday, we visited my nephew and sister-in-law who I haven't seen since my brother died 17 years ago. Today, we are headed for Disneyland and California Adventure. It's going to be a very long day...expensive too!

Zoo Review #4

I wish I had time to take a better photo of this card. It looks so much better in real life. The base card is Crumb Cake with a layer of Pear Pizzazz that was embossed with a floral EF. There's a small banner using some giraffe print paper that I've had forever, and it has a button that my friend wanted to use on one of the cards I was to make for a sample. I stamped with Versa Mark and then with Crumb Cake and embossed with Clear EP again. This time, I colored the image as well using color pencils. I framed the image with Soft Suede and popped it up with Dimensionals. I will try to get everything cut in the morning, and I only made 4 of the 5 samples due to lack of time. Thanks for stopping by!!!

Zoo Review #3

Well, I finally got around to doing card #3 of 5 using Zoo Review. I just can't seem to work in my card making these days! Of course, suddenly having 3 little ones around slows some things down a bit. For this one, I embossed the zebra with Black EP. I framed it with red and used red ribbon with a soda pop tab for a buckle (by request). The zebra striped paper has been around here for many years. Everything else is from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!!

Zoo Review #2

I've got to get busy. This is only #2 of 5 cards I'm supposed to make as samples for my friend. She needs them before the end of the week! YIKES! This is another simple one. The base card is Pool Party with a white layer that was embossed with Northern Flurry(SU!). I inked the polar bear with Versa Mark and then with Pool Party, stamped and embossed with Clear EP. I punched him out with the 2-1/2" Circle Punch and used a Nestie for the scallop circle. I popped up those circles with Dimensionals. VERY simple! Thanks for stopping by!!

Zoo Review #1

A friend of mine is visiting an out-of-state friend soon and wants to do some card making while there. She bought the "Zoo Review" set and asked me to make some sample cards for them to work from. She also let me know what supplies they will have to work with. They will be using color pencils, so I colored the lion with color pencils and then used a wet paint brush for blending. The card stocks used here are Cherry Cobbler, Soft Suede and white. I used a strip of retired SU! DSP for the horizontal panel. I'll send some pieces with the samples for them to use. This is the first of five cards I'll make for them. Thanks for stopping by!!!

Enjoy the Moment

Well, look at me! I made another card! It's kind of hard when I'm still in the middle of emptying my craft room, but I wanted to see how I'd do. I just found some scraps and used this stamp that my good friend and fearless leader gave me when I visited her last June. Actually, she was going to buy it at Hobby Lobby, but she let me buy it instead. Now, that's my kind of enabler! LOL! Everything is from Stampin' Up! except for the stamp. I embossed the image with Black EP. Thanks for stopping by!!!

Two in a row!

Well, look at me! Two posts in a row! LOL! That's only because I'm trying to make cards for some friends who were so thoughtful that they sent cards to me recently. This is another VERY simple card except for getting the card stock (Cherry Cobbler) out of that die (Spellbinders Poppy Patch)! Those skinny little stems tend to want to stay in the die. The ribbon is Cherry Cobbler and so is the ink. The sentiment is from "Loving Thoughts". Thanks for stopping by!!

Winter Thinking of You

I've been away from card making for a while. Hand surgery and then my mom becoming a hospice patient along with getting a new foster child have turned my world upside down. I need to get back to it, though. It does help me relax. I didn't send Christmas cards out this year, so I thought I'd just send a simple winter card to each of my friends who were so kind as to send cards to me. This is my first one. Very Clean and Simple! All white with a die cut tree. I added Dazzling Details for the glistening snow. Thanks for stopping by! You'll be seeing more of me now. At least, I'll try to post at least once a week. See you soon!!!!

Here I am!

It's been over a month now since I've posted. My foster child left on October 12, and I had surgery on my hand on October 15. I've been a little down in the dumps. Everything is so hard to do with just one good hand!
The photo above shows how it looked for the first week or so after surgery.
The next photo shows how it looks now. I got the bandages and splint off and the stitches taken out two weeks after surgery. I have about a week and a half before the cast comes off and I go to physical therapy. The pink is in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, especially since my oldest daughter is fighting that battle now. That's a whole other story. Anyway, today I finally made a card. It will be in my next post. Thanks to everyone for their patience!!!

Shane's Birthday

This is a card I made for my daughter's friend, Shane. He's 21 today! She wanted it to have a bottle on it since he can now legally drink. He's not much of a drinker, but it's legal for him to go to a club where they serve alcohol now. You know how it is when you're young; you can't wait to turn 21. I didn't have a stamp of a bottle, so I went online and found the whiskey bottle and the sign. The stamped sentiment is from "Celebrate Everything" which I think has been retired for a while. The card is 5-3/8" square. The base card is Chocolate Chip with a layer of DCWV Glitter Stack card stock. I used Real Red, Pumpkin Pie and So Saffron for the matting. Thanks for stopping by!!!

Been a bit busy!

I had the Mother's Day breakfast here this morning for our church. Three of the men from church came and cooked. This is one of the tables that I had set.
On each plate, there's a cellophane bag with a topper. Inside each bag is a checkbook cover. They could also use these to store coupons. I had ordered the plastic covers a while back and I just cut SU! DSP to fit and inserted it. The little center pieces are tiny clay flower pots with floral foam and pink Easter grass. I added a couple of sprigs of ivy that I got at the dollar store. I stamped flowers using the "Mixed Bunch" set and punched them out with the Blossom Punch. I curled the petals with a bone folder. I adhered each flower with Mini Glue Dots to a Tootsie Roll Pop. The suckers were inserted into the floral foam. Each pot was sitting on a paper doily. Each lady was able to take home a "flower pop" and a checkbook cover. We all had a great time. It's back to card making tomorrow!! Thanks for stopping by!!!

Panda Birthday

I saw this on Beth Beard's blog and just had to CASE it. Isn't this an adorable punch art panda bear?!! I didn't get everything placed exactly right, but it still looks like a panda. Instead of Black DSP, I used the Real Red. I used the Clear Circle Die for the head and the following punches: 1" Circle, Large Oval, Wide Oval, Medium Oval, 1/2" Circle, 1/4" Circle, 1-3/4" Circle and 3/4" Circle. Everything is from Stampin' Up! except for the 1/4" Red Satin Ribbon. Thanks for stopping by!!

Bit of Good

I couldn't sleep. I know I've been worrying about my grand daughter because she had to be taken to E.R. She tried to climb on a bar stool and pulled it down on herself. It just about knocked a tooth out. The doctor said it will hurt for a while, and she has to be on a soft food diet for a few days. The worst part is that the tooth will turn black until it falls out. Thank goodness it's a baby tooth (that's all she has). She's only 20 months old, so she'll have a black tooth for a few years. I feel so bad. I'm sure my daughter does, too.

On to the card. I just got a couple of Martha Stewart punches that I had ordered specifically to make these blooms. Pat Smethers has instructions on Splitcoast Stampers here. I punched a bunch of flowers and leaves and used them all. I punched the flowers from Ballet Blue and Bordering Blue and the leaves and branches from Mellow Moss and Sage Shadow. All the card stocks are retired. You have to use them up somehow! The DSP is also retired; it's Porcelain Prints. The quote from "Pursuit of Happiness" was stamped twice with Black Stazon, the word "Good" was cut out, sponged with Mellow Moss and popped up on the whole quote. This is similar to how the one in the catalog is done. The flower centers are tiny little blue half pearls. I love making these little blooms. I'm sure glad Pat posted those instructions! Oh, the card is 5-3/8" square. Everything except the punches came from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!!

Hangin' With My Gnomies

I made a child's birthday card this morning which reminded me that my own daughter's birthday is Sunday!! Yikes! I have to get this in the mail today so that she'll get it by Saturday! I know she'll just love this. I bought another tutorial from Kim Score. Her blog is Paper Punch Addiction, and she has some tutorials for free and others that you can buy. I love this garden gnome from her "In the Garden" collection. I used the "Gnomenclature" set for the sentiment which my daughter will get a kick out of. The base card is Chocolate Chip with some retired DSP. The card is 5-3/8" square. I used a lot of punches for this one! Everything used to make this card is from Stampin' Up! Thanks again for stopping by!!

St. Patrick's Day Favors

I have some ladies coming over Friday to make cards. I'm making these for favors for them since St. Patrick's Day is coming soon. One of the ladies is Irish, so she'll love this.

This view shows the little envelope without the belly band. I put three Andes candies in there. I die cut the envelopes with the Scallop Envelope Die. I made the hats using instructions shown on Maria Vanderform's blog. The only change I made was the ribbon from black to Certainly Celery. I also just used Dazzling Details on the little shamrocks on the hats. Of course, mine is on the favor instead of a card, too. Thanks, Maria! Everything used to make this project is from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!!

Angry Bird for Chris

This is for Chris. He's the boy who had brain surgery to have a tumor removed. He is home now and on the mend doing physical therapy as an out-patient. His mom (coffeestamper, aka Perk, aka Sue) is an online friend of mine. She's also one of the Twisted Sistahs. She contacted me with a link to a card with an angry bird on it. She knows how much I like to do punch art. I asked her if she was going to CASE that card for Chris because she had told me that he loves the Angry Bird games. She said she didn't have all the punches required, so I told her I'd make one for him. The card was originally made by Debbie Naylor. She has complete, step-by-step instructions on her blog. I followed her instructions but left off the sentiment panel. I used Naturals White for the base card and textured pre-trimmed card stock for the aqua piece. I have to use up all those card fronts somehow. Thanks for stopping by!!

Edgelits & Framelits Storage

I'm in the middle of making a card, but I received an email through one of my Yahoo Groups about storing Edgelits and Framelits. The lady who sent the email stores hers in the plastic stamp cases. That's a wonderful idea, but I like to utilize the pouch they came in. Here's what I've been using for my metal dies. You go to a hardware store such as Lowe's or Home Depot and buy a package of Magnetic Vent Covers. They come three to a package. I cut mine into 5" X 6" pieces to fit into the original vinyl package that the dies came in from Stampin' Up! You can get nine of these pieces from one package, so we can have lots more Framelits and Edgelits in the future! Anyway, the metal dies stick to the magnetic pieces. You could still use the stamp cases if you want (I'm not sure about the cutting size for those), but I sure like the vinyl pouch that we get from SU! when we order the dies. It's much thinner for easier storage. You will have three 2" X 5" pieces of the magnetic sheets left over. These would be good for making lightweight refrigerator magnets or something like that. Thanks for stopping by!!

Happy New Year!

Well, I haven't posted anything on this blog for a week. I'm going to try to do better this year. Call it a New Year's Resolution! Our Christmas Dinner and family get-together was on Thursday, December 29th. It was a wonderful party! My daughter and her family came from California, my oldest son and his kids were here from Sparks, my daughter from Reno was here with her family, and my youngest daughter was here with her boyfriend (fiance'???) and my grand daughter that I babysit a lot. All together, there were 19 of us here!! We played games on the Wii and board games, too. My oldest daughter brought Dance 3 for the Wii and we all had a blast trying to keep up with the dance moves. We were able to dance four at a time. Even little Maddie danced to the music!! Anyway, I'm having a little trouble with my back and neck, so I'm not going to church today. I'm going to go make a couple of cards. I'll start the new year off right and post to my blog, too!! See ya later!!
