Hello Cups (TSC0330)

The Twisted Sistahs Challenge was presented by 101Airborne. Kathy asked us to make a card with either a tea cup or coffee cup and include lace and pearls. We were also to use at least one punch or die. I used SU!'s "Tiny Teacup" stamp, the 1-1/4" Square Punch, the Scallop Square Punch, the Perfect Polka Dots Impressions Folder and an Antique Brad in the middle of my lace flower. I also used Basic Jewels - Pearls on each of the popped up squares. Thanks for stopping by!!

Honoring Queen Sylvia (QFTD106)

Our queen this week is Sillyfilly aka Sylvia, but I call her Silly. She's one of the Twisted Sistahs. We are so proud of her!! I was inspired by her Brain Freeze2 card. I kept the same layout and used a House Mouse image but changed the colors and didn't make that pretty folded flower. Instead, I just punched out a couple of umbrellas. This is my first attempt at coloring with Copics. I added Stickles on the raindrops and on the umbrellas. The umbrellas are the only things popped up. Thanks for stopping by!!

Live in the Sunshine (SC378)

The Sketch Challenge on SCS was yesterday, but I was busy, so I did it today. This card is sort of country French. The DSP is Beau Chateau and that little "postage stamp" is from the Beau Chateau Side Notes. I used Marina Mist for the base card and matting and Naturals Ivory for the main image panel. Everything is sponged with Soft Suede Ink which was also used for the stamping. The horizontal strip is Marina Mist Wide Striped Ribbon. Thanks for stopping by!!

Nicest Things Quote (WT368)

This week's Ways To Use It Challenge is called, "Get Sentimental" meaning to make the focus of the card the sentiment. I use an "Attic Boutique Side Note" from the Occasions Mini and trimmed it down to fit on the card. The card is Calypso Coral with the Side Note. The main sentiment is from "The Nicest Things" and the sentiment on the little yellow banner is from "Teeny Tiny Wishes". I added a bow made from So Saffron Taffeta Ribbon and an "Everyday Enchantment" brad which was free for SAB. Thanks for stopping by!!

For Danielle (CC368)

I haven't been able to participate in the color challenge for a while, but today, I've got a little time. Actually, this card didn't take much time at all. The DSP did all the work. The colors for this week are Elegant Eggplant, Concord Crush and Melon Mambo. The Cheerful Treats DSP is a hostess gift, and it has the colors needed for today's challenge. The base card is Concord Crush. Below the DSP is Elegant Eggplant that has been embossed with the Hounds-tooth folder. I used Melon Mambo Polka Dot Ribbon to separate the two parts. The sentiment is from "Elegant Cheer" (retired) and was stamped on Whisper White with Elegant Eggplant Ink. The mat is also Elegant Eggplant. The flowers were punched from Melon Mambo with the Flower Trio Punch (retired) and the 4-petal Punch Pack Punch. Tiny pearls are in the centers. The leaves were punched from Old Olive with the Bird Builder Punch. Thanks for stopping by!!!

I Can Can-Can!! (MMTPT191)

This week, the Teapotters are going to France for the Tea Party. We are to bring anything having to do with France. Well, I took Can-Can lessons! That's me with the Eiffel Tower in the background. Don't you dare tell me I look like a hippo in my tu-tu!! I'm TRYING to lose some weight, but I keep going to tea parties and eating lots of cookies. I hope I get extra cookies for making a teapotter laugh!!! I got both images online and printed them on white card stock. This is a 5-3/8" square card. The base card is Pacific Point Textured Card Stock with a layer of Real Red. The DP is from DCWV. I colored "me" and then covered the whole image with Versamark and embossed with Clear EP. The corners are Cuttlebug Vintage die cuts. Thanks for stopping by!!!

Birthday Inspiration (CAS163, LNS166)

The Clean and Simple Challenge was to be inspired by a Family Circle Magazine cover. I was inspired by the colors of the cupcakes. The Late Night Stampers Yahoo Group's challenge was to use two different embossing folders. I used Stripes and Snow Burst. The ribbon is from a Ribbon/Button Bundle that is retired. I used the two smaller flowers on the Boho Blossoms Punch for each flower and one of the Antique Brads in the center. Thanks for stopping by!

Love is... (CC1212, TSC0323)

This is for two challenges. The CCEE Stampers challenge is to focus on the sentiment. The Twisted Sistahs Challenge was presented by wannabcre8ive. Shirley asked us to use Sketch #358 AND use Real Red, Pretty in Pink and More Mustard. The sketch was the easy part, but those colors were tough to work with. I used the More Mustard for the base card and the scalloped mat. Real Red was used for mats, one being punched with an MS border punch. I used Pretty in Pink to die cut the butterflies using the Beautiful Wings Sizzlit, and I used Pretty in Pink Scallop Dot Ribbon. I also used a pink gingham dp. I used a lot of Whisper White on this. Sizzix Love Set Hearts EF was used on one layer, and I did some paper piercing on the square layer. The sentiment is from "Butterfly Prints". Rhinestones were added to the butterflies for some sparkle. Thanks for stopping by!!

Card Making Day Projects March 2012

These are the projects we will be doing tomorrow. Project #1 used "Totally A-maze-ing" with an actual maze in the card. These are available from the Occasions Mini. I used Wisteria Wonder for the base card and some printed card stock from a DCWV Kid Stack. I used the 2-1/2" Circle Punch to punch out the circle for the maze to fit in. I added Wisteria Wonder Ribbon and the mouse from the set punched out with the 3/4" Circle Punch and tied to the knot with Wisteria Baker's Twine. I don't think you can see the cheese that is stamped in the middle of the maze, but it's there. This was inspired by a card in the mini catalog. Everything except the polka dot card stock came from Stampin' Up!

Project #2 is also for the Queen for the Day Challenge. Our queen this week is sweetnsassystamps. Korin is VERY talented. I was inspired by her SC233 Inchin' Along card. I changed the colors and layout but kept the caterpillar theme. I used one of Kim Score's designs for the punch art caterpillar. This was fun to make. The base card is Lucky Limeade with a layer of Pool Party and the the SAB free DSP. The caterpillar is made mainly of Certainly Celery punched circles which were sponged with Wild Wisabi. The sentiment is from "Bugs and Kisses" (retired). Everything used to make this card came from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!!

Friends (SC377)

It's been a while since I've been able to participate in the Sketch Challenge on SCS. The color combo here was determined by the DSP. I used Melon Mambo, Pear Pizzazz and Whisper White. The DSP is from the Simply Scrappin' Kit from the Occasions Mini called "Spring Fever". I used the retired "Embrace Live" for the leaves and "Tiny Tags" for the sentiment. I used a Labels Framelit for the main image panel and drew around the die on the Pear Pizzazz piece and cut it out so that it would only have about 1/8" for a margin. The ribbon is Melon Mambo Polka Dot Ribbon (retired. I used the 4 petal punch from the Punch Pack and embossed the three little flowers. Dazzling Details were added to the centers. Thanks for stopping by!!

Birthday Butterflies (MMTPT190)

The Teapot Tuesday Challenge is to use butterflies on a card. We get extra points if we make it a birthday card. The main image is from "Simply Soft" (hostess set), and the sentiment is from "On Your Birthday." I used Pool Party, Daffodil Delight and Whisper White card stocks. The butterflies were die cut using the "Beautiful Wings" Sizzlit. There's a Basic Jewels Rhinestone on the smaller butterfly, and the larger one was put together with pieces of Dimensionals. The White panel was embossed with the "Flower Garden" Impressions Folder. Dazzling Details were added to the larger butterfly for sparkle. Thanks for stopping by!!

Angela's Sketch (CAS162, LNS165)

The Clean and Simple Challenge is to follow a sketch by Arizona Maine. Angela's sketch is shown here. I could make a bunch of these cards for a gift set! I love it. Our Late Night Stampers challenge is an inspiration challenge. There was a picture of a child's room done in all black and white except for the walls which were a shade of turquoise. I went with just the black and white. I think this would make a nice wedding card if I added rhinestones in the flower centers and changed the sentiment. Thanks for stopping by!!

Sending Love (C4C128)

The Crazy for Challenges challenge is to have some green on our cards. It doesn't have to have a St. Patrick's Day theme, it just has to have green on it. I made the quick clean and simple card today. There are several shades of green here. The base card is Bazzill Smoothies Crushed Pear, the next layer and mat are both Certainly Celery, and I used Whisper White for the main image panel and the embossed layer. The ribbon is kind of yellowish green. I colored the image with markers. I'll be sending a quick note to my daughter to let her know that I've been praying for her during her recent illness. Thanks for stopping by!!

Be Happy (CT0312, DDSKETCH0312, WORD0312)

At SCS, Fan Club members can do the Dirty Dozen Challenges. I did three:

CT0312 - Central Theme = "You Have Me in Stitches" (sewing or humorous)
DDSKETCH0312 - SKETCH by Teresa Kline
WORD0312 - The WORD for this month is SEWN

For the Central Theme, I did faux stitching on one of the matted layers.
I followed Teresa Kline's sketch.
For the WORD Challenge, I used Stitching, Embossed flowers, Well Wishes, and New Designer Series Paper (Attic Boutique from the Occasions Mini) that I haven't used yet. The layers are: Pool Party with a layer of Attic Boutique DSP, more of the same DSP matted on Soft Suede, Very Vanilla matted on Barely Banana (retired). I used the Little Leaves Sizzlit for the leaves, cutting them out of Naturals Ivory and sponging with Soft Suede Ink. The flowers were punched with two punches from the Punch Pack, embossed and adding Basic Jewels Pearls to the centers. I also used Pool Party Ribbon and some Crocheted Lace. The sentiment was stamped with Soft Suede Ink, and it's from "Pursuit of Happiness" set. Everything is from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!!

Chinese Good Luck (CCEE1211, QFTD104)

This is actually for three challenges. First, the CCEE Stampers Challenge is to add an international flair to your card with language, image or embellishment. I used the CB Mandarin Screen EF and a punched out Chinese symbol for Good Luck. The queen for a day is mepylant. Melina's gallery isn't huge, but it's packed full of beautiful projects. I was inspired by her Patterned paper pieces card that she did for a Sketch Challenge. Finally, over at Totally Stampalicious, the challenge is all about flowers. Using the MS Hydrangea punches, I punched, sponged and embossed the blooms. I used the SU! Clear Circle Die for the circle and 1-3/8" Circle Punch for the Chinese Symbol. The Chinese symbol was sent to me by Tater. She sent me several so I'll have some for future use. Thanks for stopping by!!

Speed Demon (TSC0316)

Our Twisted Sistahs Challenge for this week was presented by Marleygo. Lesley asked us to use a technique which requires wadding up saran wrap or a plastic grocery bag and using it to stamp a background. My background was stamped with a WalMart plastic grocery bag. She also said we were to use a border punch on the card. I used the Pinked Hearts Border Punch but hid the hearts. This was made with Not Quite Navy and Naturals Ivory card stocks. The stamping was done with Not Quite Navy Ink. I also used the Photo Corner Punch and layered the pieces in two corners. The image is from "Need for Speed". Everything is from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!!

Friends Fur-ever (WT366)

The Ways To Use It Challenge on SCS is all about dogs. We were to use dog stamps or make a punch art dog, but the focus of the card was to be about dogs. I got this image from my friend, irishgreensue, when we met in California last year. It's by Inkadinkado, and it's a set called "Dogs". The sentiment is from SU!'s "Friends Fur-ever". I used Calypso Coral for the card base with a layer of Soft Suede and then the "Everyday Enchantment" DSP which is an SAB item. The DSP is embossed with Paws and sponged with Soft Suede Ink. The ribbon is the Calypso Coral Ribbon from the SAB Ribbon and Brads Bundle. The dog bone charm is from MFP. I used the Tiny Tags punch to punch out the sentiment and a Mini Brad to attach it. Thanks for stopping by!!

The King (SC376)

The lion from "Zoo Review" seems so appropriate for a Father's Day card. King of the beasts; king of the castle - DAD. I have neither father nor husband, but I have a son who is a dad, and a mighty fine one at that, so I think I'll send this to him when the time comes. This week's Sketch Challenge on SCS works perfectly for this card. When I saw it, I thought "masculine" right away, for me at least. I used Early Espresso and Soft Suede card stock along with "Well Worn" DSP and Water Color Paper. I added a little raffia in the corners just to add something organic to the card. The image was water colored with Crayons and an Aqua Painter. Thanks for stopping by!!

Hip Hippo-ray! (CAS161, TSC0309)

The Clean & Simple Challenge for this week is to use white and shades of blue. One option for the Twisted Sistahs Challenge this week was to make a CAS card with paper piecing. I paper pieced the hippo with scraps and punched out the balloons from scraps as well. The head is stamped separately and popped up, and the bow is from a different scrap. Everything is in shades of blue. The sentiment is on Whisper White because I stamped it crooked and had to stamp again and cut it out. I had to be honest!! Thanks for stopping by!!

Know (ODBDSLC100)

Over at Our Daily Bread Designs, the challenge is to use aqua and/or blue topaz and an ODBD scripture or quote. I chose this scripture from the Scripture Collection #3. I used Island Indigo for the blue topaz and Pool Party for the aqua. The flowers are punched with MS punches according to Pat Smethers' instructions. They are punched out of Pool Party and sponged with Island Indigo Ink. The leaves were punched from Garden Green and so was the Fanciful Flourish, although you can hardly see it with all the flowers, leaves and branches. The MS branch punch was used with Handsome Hunter card stock (retired). An SU! Labels Framelit was used for the main image panel and mat. Each flower has a rhinestone in the center. I'm happy with how this turned out. Thanks for stopping by!!

ETA: Someone posted a comment asking which MS punches were used for this card but left no way to contact individually, so here's the punches I used: Hydrangea Punch, 3-in-1 Hydrangea Punch, Rose Leaf Punch and Branch Punch. I used SU!'s Mat Pack and Stylus to shape the flowers after sponging them.

Panda Birthday

I saw this on Beth Beard's blog and just had to CASE it. Isn't this an adorable punch art panda bear?!! I didn't get everything placed exactly right, but it still looks like a panda. Instead of Black DSP, I used the Real Red. I used the Clear Circle Die for the head and the following punches: 1" Circle, Large Oval, Wide Oval, Medium Oval, 1/2" Circle, 1/4" Circle, 1-3/4" Circle and 3/4" Circle. Everything is from Stampin' Up! except for the 1/4" Red Satin Ribbon. Thanks for stopping by!!

Tunnel Card (CCEE1210, C4C127, TSC0309)

I wanted to do another card for the Twisted Sistahs Challenge to have something that moves on the card. Well, the whole inside portion of a tunnel card does move. This is also for the CCEE Stampers Challenge which is all about flowers and the Crazy 4 Challenges which is to be inspired by spring, using flowers, baby animals, etc.

This view shows the inside of the tunnel card. I didn't realize that the markers would bleed through the Whisper White card stock. I'll have to remember that the next time I do one of these. Everything used to make this card is from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!!

Loads of Love (TSC0309)

Our Twisted Sistahs Challenge for this week was presented by Brat Cards. Terri asked us to make a card with something that moves on it, like something that pops up when you open it or one of those cards with the slot and an image adhered to a penny so that it slides. She gave us another option though, and that was to make a paper pieced card that is CAS. I went the Clean and Simple route. You COULD say that I have something that moves on this card, too! LOL! I just used Whisper White card stock to make a 4-1/4" square card and paper pieced the truck with a small piece of dp from my scraps. I popped up the flowers and the fenders with pieces of Dimensionals and used a Zig Painty Pen for the bumpers, door handle and hub caps. I also scored a couple of lines under the truck. Thanks for stopping by!!

Bit of Good

I couldn't sleep. I know I've been worrying about my grand daughter because she had to be taken to E.R. She tried to climb on a bar stool and pulled it down on herself. It just about knocked a tooth out. The doctor said it will hurt for a while, and she has to be on a soft food diet for a few days. The worst part is that the tooth will turn black until it falls out. Thank goodness it's a baby tooth (that's all she has). She's only 20 months old, so she'll have a black tooth for a few years. I feel so bad. I'm sure my daughter does, too.

On to the card. I just got a couple of Martha Stewart punches that I had ordered specifically to make these blooms. Pat Smethers has instructions on Splitcoast Stampers here. I punched a bunch of flowers and leaves and used them all. I punched the flowers from Ballet Blue and Bordering Blue and the leaves and branches from Mellow Moss and Sage Shadow. All the card stocks are retired. You have to use them up somehow! The DSP is also retired; it's Porcelain Prints. The quote from "Pursuit of Happiness" was stamped twice with Black Stazon, the word "Good" was cut out, sponged with Mellow Moss and popped up on the whole quote. This is similar to how the one in the catalog is done. The flower centers are tiny little blue half pearls. I love making these little blooms. I'm sure glad Pat posted those instructions! Oh, the card is 5-3/8" square. Everything except the punches came from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!!

Friendship is Precious (TSC0302)

The Twisted Sistahs Challenge was presented by irishgreensue. Greenie asked us to make a card for any occasion using two different Nesties plus a button, brad or charm. There was also an option to use ribbon or twine. I used the Labels One and Fleur De Lis Nesties and one Antique Brad in the middle of my ribbon flower with additional Cherry Cobbler Scalloped Polka Dot Ribbon down one side. The sentiment and butterfly stamps are from the "Precious Butterflies" hostess set. The card stocks are Basic Grey, Cherry Cobbler and Whisper White. The DSP is retired. I also used the Beautiful Wings Embosslit for the one little butterfly that I added. Everything except the Nesties is from Stampin' UP! Thanks for stopping by!!

Open This One (SC374)

I haven't been able to participate in the Sketch Challenge on SCS for a while. I thought this one was a fun one to do. The image is a digital download from Squigglefly, and it's called, "Open This One". I used Peach Parfait for the base card. The next layer is a plaid patterned paper. The rectangles are So Saffron and are embossed with a Sizzix folder which has paws all over it. The image was colored with SU! Markers using the swirly technique. Thanks for stopping by!
