Happy 4th (LNS127, MMTPT152, SC339, TSC0701, WT329)
OK, so I've been busy lately and haven't had much time for card making. I made this card for FIVE challenges, count 'em, FIVE! LOL!! The Yahoo group that I'm in has a challenge this week to used Red, White and Blue in honor of the 4th coming up. The Teapot Tuesday Challenge has to have a number on it due to the fact that the teapotters need to learn how to count. This card will go to whichever teapotter that Mothermark assigns to me, but I hope it's someone in the U.S.A., otherwise, it makes no sense. Even if the card gets there after the 4th, the person who receives it could save it and send it next year to someone else! I used this week's Sketch Challenge sketch, changing sizes of panels as needed to fit my image. The Twisted Sistahs Challenge was presented by patsmethers, and she asked us to make a card representing Americana and using Red, White, and Blue (no pink). Well, 4th of July barbecues are very representative of Americana as far as I'm concerned. By the way, that's not a man doing the barbecuing here, it's an old blond lady (like me). As Martha Stewart says, "It's a good thing." Finally, the Ways To Use It Challenge is to use something old and something new. The "King of the Grill" stamp set is from the 2010 Summer Mini, so it's about a year old. The DSP is from this year's Summer Mini, so it's new. That covers all of them! Everything except the Stars EF came from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!!!

My Tuesday
I didn't post a card yesterday. I should have done the tea party card, but I didn't have time. Maybe I will do it later. Instead, I worked on another tissue box cover for one of the Secret Sisters at my church. Her birthday is in July. Her information sheet says her bathroom is coral, so I used the new In-Color, Calypso Coral.
The embossing folders I used are from the Cuttlebug Asian Collection. The Nestie is from the ODBD exclusive set. I used the retiring Watercolor Trio for the stamping on the die cut pieces on the sides.I used the Fancy Flower Punch and the Blossoms Petals Punch to create the flower and leaves. I sponged everything with Calypso Coral Ink. I put a large Antique Brad in the flower center. I didn't think I'd like this with so much coral, but I really do, now that it's done. The Nestie is from ODBD and the embossing folders are from Cuttlebug, but the card stock, punches, ink, stamp set and sponges are all from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by! Maybe I'll be back later with a card.

Rrrruff Day (CAS125)
The Clean & Simple Challenge is to use Black, White and Red. A wonderful online friend of mine, irishgreensue, or Greenie, as I call her, gave me this Inkadinkdo Dogs set (among other things) for my birthday when we met in Grass Valley, CA, about a month ago. I thought this challenge was the perfect time to use a couple of stamps from the set. I used Whisper White on Naturals White card stock, Black Stazon ink, Real Red and Basic Black Markers, and 1/4" Red Satin Ribbon. Thanks for stopping by!!!

Chicken Salad (TSC0624)
Our Twisted Sistahs Challenge is presented by Tater this week. Phyllis asked us to make a 4 X 6 recipe card with our favorite recipe on it. I'm not sure what my favorite recipe is, but I've made this chicken salad a lot lately. I used the "From the Kitchen of" set to create the recipe card. I actually used a 4 X 6 index card, so I didn't have to cut anything. To make it look like a stamper made it, I stamped off chickens from the "Countryside" set in Sahara Sand so there'd be just a shadow of an image all over in the background. I used Old Olive and Tangerine Tango Markers to color the stamps I used in addition to the main stamp which was done with Black Stazon. The stars on the "Yum Scale" at the bottom were colored in with a Real Red Marker (fine tip). I used a black Journaling Marker to write in the recipe and doodled all around the edges of the card. A fun challenge, but I don't think my card is all that exciting. Everything is from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!!

Andrew's Birthday (WT328, LNS126)
The Ways To Use It Challenge is to use no white. I hope they don't consider Very Vanilla as white because that's what I used to stamp the letters in my grandson's name. This is his birthday card. The birthday sentiment is inside. This is also for the Late Night Stampers challenge, "Animal Antics", to use an animal on our cards. I love that bear from "Under the Stars!" The base card is So Saffron with a layer of "Just Add Cake" DSP (available July 1st). The bear was stamped on Crumb Cake with Early Espresso and sponged with the same ink. I also stamped the snout and belly on Naturals Ivory, cut them out, sponged them and popped up the snout. The bear is popped up on Bashful Blue with a scalloped piece of Old Olive DSP at the bottom; then, it's all matted on Calypso Coral (one of the new In-Colors). The letters were stamped with Lucky Limeade on Very Vanilla. Everything here is from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!!!

Asian Feel? (SC338)
This week's sketch has a partial circle which I thought I wouldn't like, but I really do. I think this set, along with the EF and brad does have a bit of an Asian feel, don't you? I used Very Vanilla with the embossed layer of Wild Wasabi, and the partial circle is Very Vanilla again. I embossed the background leaves with Wild Wasabi EP. The flowers were stamped, colored with markers, cut out, attached with Mini Glue Dots, and Gold Stickles were added to the centers. Everything is from Stampin' Up! except for the Stickles. Thanks for stopping by!!

Summer Mini Stamps
I'm just playing around with some stamps I've not used yet. For this card, I used the individual stamp, "Hello Blossoms" plus the "Bold Blossoms" set for the butterfly and the sentiment inside which reads, "thank you for being you." Both of these are in the Summer Mini. In fact, this is pretty much a CASE of the card in the Mini. I used Tangerine Tango for the base card and Whisper White for the main image and butterfly. I also used a bit of Old Olive DSP that is punched with the Scallop Border Punch. I added a Basic Pearl for the butterfly's head. Everything is from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!!
Big Plans (CC328)
The Color Challenge on SCS is to use Cherry Cobbler, Night of Navy and Crumb Cake with a dessert option of using something from the kitchen. I used part of a cereal box and embossed it for my background layer instead of using Crumb Cake for that. The base card is Cherry Cobbler, the mat is Night of Navy and so is the ink, and the main image panel is Very Vanilla. I used Crumb Cake Ribbon Seam Binding for the ribbon and knot. I used an SU! Corner Punch on the Navy mat on opposing corners. Everything except the embossing folder is from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!!!

Round Card (MMTPT151)
The Teapot Tuesday Challenge (for tomorrow) is to bring round cards to the party. It's in order to go along with the Designer Dodge Ball theme. You can find out the whole story here. These cards will be going to another lady undergoing chemotherapy for breast cancer. Melon Mambo might not be the right shade of pink for breast cancer awareness, but I think it's a cheerful color. I don't know if you can tell from the photo, but those rhinestones in the centers of the embossed flowers are pink (the right shade). I embossed the sentiment with Melon Mambo EP and punched using the Large Oval, Scallop Oval and Wide Oval Punches. The card itself was die cut using the large Scallop Circle Die. I topped it off with Melon Mambo Polka Dot Ribbon. Everything except the rhinestones is from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!!
Talk About Simple! (CAS124)
The Clean & Simple Challenge is to make a tall and thin card. You just about can't get any simpler than this! 6 X 6 Regal Rose Textured Card Stock, scored at 3", embossed with the Flower Garden Impressions Folder, and a sentiment from "Picture This" embossed with Melon Mambo Embossing Powder was all there was to it! Stampin' Up! has envelopes to fit this card that open at the end. Ya gotta love it! Everything here is from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!!

CASEing Tami (FF228)
Our Featured Stamper this week is Tami Mayberry. I've never seen her gallery before, but she sure has some beautiful work there. I chose to CASE her "I Love You" card. I changed the stamp, papers and ribbon and moved the ribbon and image up just a bit. I don't think I've ever used red and brown together before. The card stocks are Real Red, Chocolate Chip and Whisper White. I used Real Red ink to stamp the image from "Pretty Postage", and I used the new Postage Punch to punch it out. I matted with Chocolate Chip which was punched with the 1-3/8" Square Punch. The DSP is Pawsitively Prints II, the ribbon is Real Red Taffeta and the pearls are Basic Pearls. Everything used to make this card is from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!!

Thank You, Lovely Lady (ODBDSLC65)
The Shining the Light Challenge over at Our Daily Bread Designs Blog is to make a Thank You card. I used Proverbs 31:30 from Scripture Collection #4 for the main image. The Thank You sentiment is inside. I had to take my son to the airport for his trip to Washington state to visit his relatives up there for three weeks. I will miss him so much. When I left the airport, I was sad. I needed a "pick-me-up", so, what did I do? I went to Michael's!! LOL! I got those pretty little roses in the $1 bin. I also got a bunch of scrap booking embellishments by Creative Memories at half price which included the sparkly flourish I used here. The card stocks are Blushing Bride, Pretty In Pink, Pink Pirouette, Wild Wasabi and Very Vanilla. The designer paper is Hot Off the Press, and I got it up at Jenny's in Grass Valley, CA. The inside sentiment, "Many Thanks" is from Elegant Cheer. This card goes to a lovely lady who has been so very kind to me. Thanks for stopping by!!!

Flip Flops (TSC0617, LNS125)
The Yahoo Group I'm in has a challenge this week called "Water, Water Everywhere." My son is going to visit his sister in Washington, and they're going to an indoor water park. We just had to buy him a new swim suit and some flip flops, so flip flops represent water to me! Our Twisted Sistahs Challenge for this week is to make a Joy Fold Card using bright colors. The base card here is Pacific Point, and I used the brightly colored DSP from this year's Sale-A-Bration. The smaller portion of the card is Daffodil Delight with Melon Mambo, and the main image is stamped on Very Vanilla. The image is from "Sunny Fun" and is colored with SU! Markers. Tiny yellow and amber rhinestones were added to the flip fops for brighten them up. I used a foam flip flop I pulled off of a card that I received years ago and kept in my stash for the closure. Everything used to make this card came from Stampin' Up! except the tiny rhinestones and the foam flip flop. Thanks for stopping by!!

Fabulous (CC327, SC337)
"Fabulous" as in "Fabulous Florets" which is my current favorite stamp set. I used this week's sketch and this week's color challenge colors for this card. The color challenge is to use Very Vanilla, Chocolate Chip and Old Olive. The dessert option is to round one corner, so I did that on the main image panel. The base card is Naturals Ivory, then, there's a layer of Chocolate Chip and then a layer of Old Olive. The horizontal strip is more Chocolate Chip and Old Olive DSP (retired). The main image panel is Very Vanilla matted on Chocolate Chip. I stamped the leaves with Old Olive and the flowers with Timber Brown Stazon (retired). The main panel is popped up and so are the cut out flowers. I added Old Olive Brads at the rounded corner. I have them, but I don't use them often enough. I may still add some Dazzling Diamonds to the flower centers since I didn't color them. Everything used to make this card is from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!!

On a Bed of Roses (MMTPT150)
This tea party is all about horses. Mutnik's daughter recently took a bad fall right over her horse's head and is in the hospital with a fractured skull and other injuries. Cathy says her daughter, Jessica, has a ways to go before she will be able to leave the hospital. We were to uses horses on our cards AND try to include a flower for Jessica. This framed horse is on a bed of roses. The dp is all pink roses. It's the one I bought at Jenny's in Grass Valley, CA. The base card is Chocolate Chip with a layer of Pink Pirouette and then the dp. The die cut frame (Eyelet Squares Nestability) is also Chocolate Chip. The horse from "Wanted" is stamped with Early Espresso on Crumb Cake and sponged with Early Espresso as well. The ribbon is Pretty In Pink Satin Ribbon. I tried to make one of Mary Brown's special bows with the Rhinestone Brad. I need some practice at that! Everything except the dp and Nestie came from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!!

Patchwork (CAS123, TLC329)
The Clean & Simple Challenge was to follow a sketch by mocjen. The Technique Lovers Challenge was to do a patchwork design with scraps of patterned paper. Well, the sketch is patchwork and so is the technique, so that worked out well. I wonder if the two challenge hostesses got together on this one. I used Confetti White for the base card and SU! DSP scraps for the quilt design. I stamped the big flower from "A Touch of Kindness" in Real Red on Whisper White and then punched it out with the Scallop Circle Punch and popped it up with a Dimensional. Everything used to make this card is from Stampin' Up!! Thanks for stopping by!

CASEing Mary (FS227)
Our Featured Stamper for this week is StamperCamper. Mary is also an SU! Demo and is in a Yahoo Group I'm in. I chose to CASE her "Strength & Hope" color challenge card. I changed the colors and changed it from a square card to an A2 size. I forgot to do the thumping, so I dotted the stamped image AFTER it was stamped. I covered the whole thing with Dazzling Diamonds and used Basic Jewels instead of Pearls for the butterfly body. I also used grosgrain ribbon instead of taffeta because I only have the Pumpkin Pie color in the grosgrain. I stamped the sentiment from "Short & Sweet" with Pumpkin Pie ink. Thanks for stopping by again!!
Saturday's Post
I'm the Secret Angel for our church Secret Sister program. I get the goodies from one sister to another and remind them at the beginning of the month to send cards and pray for their sisters. I decided to make tissue box covers for every secret sister when it's her birthday. In June, there are FOUR birthdays! I've given two out already, I made this one for the next birthday on June 23rd, and I have one more to make for the last birthday girl in June. There's only one birthday in July, thank goodness! LOL! This one was made with the retired Mellow Moss. I embossed the sides and top with the same folder and used a border EF for the strips around the lid. I used Very Vanilla to make the die cut daisy (Flower, Daisy #2) and Brushed Gold to make the punched leaves (Blossom Punch). There's an Antique Brad in the center of the Daisy. Everything is from Stampin' Up except the EF's and the Nesties. Thanks for stopping by!!

Go Giants! (CCEE1123, TSC0610)
It just so happens that the Twisted Sistahs Challenge which was presented by our lovely driver, wannabcre8ive, was to make a baseball themed card in the colors of our favorite team AND the CCEE Stampers challenge is to make a sports themed card as well, so I combined the two. I have no baseball related stamps, so I just used a Sizzix alphabet set (Cattycorner) to create the sentiment, punched a circle and drew the seams and stitches, and drew the "trail" lines with a 2-Way Glue Pen and added Dazzling Diamonds. The card stocks are Tangerine Tango, Basic Black and Whisper White. Everything except the alphabet set is from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!!!

Remember (SC336)
This is for this week's sketch challenge. I like how there's a break in the vertical panel for the sentiment. Great way to use up some scraps; that's what I did. The sentiment from "Word Play" was heat embossed with Melon Mambo embossing powder. The base card is Naturals White. The DSP is Beyond the Garden and the mat is Melon Mambo. After cutting out the flowers from "Fabulous Florets", they were sponged with Melon Mambo ink and a Sponge Dauber. I like this sketch. I will use it again. Everything used to make this card came from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!!!

Flowers for Lindsay (MMTPT149)
This week's tea party is all about flowers. We were to make simple cards with flowers on them. The option is to make the card as a sample and make a "kit" to go with it to make another card. These will go to Lindsay in Colorado. She's been fighting cancer. She had chemo, but she was pregnant at the time. Now, she has a healthy baby daughter, but they found another tumor which has been removed and she has to spend a month in the hospital getting aggressive chemotherapy. She won't have much to occupy her time during that month, so that's why we are sending her card-making kits. I'm sending her one to make this card in orange, and another in green and another in pink. I'll stamp off different sentiments so she can choose. I will be praying for her during this difficult time. I used Pumpkin Pie and Whisper White card stocks, Pumpkin Pie Prints DSP (retired), and Peach Parfait ink. The flowers are from Fabulous Florets. Everything here is from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!!!

Get Whale Soon! (CAS122, TSC328)
The Clean & Simple Challenge is "Play on Words", and the Technique Lovers Challenge is to decorate the envelope to match the card. The "Pun Fun" set is perfect for this although it's retiring at the end of the month. I stamped the whale on Tempting Turquoise DSP from the Brights Collection. The waves were punched from Tempting Turquoise card stock and adhered to both the card and the envelope. Since I mounted the images and sentiments on separate sides of the blocks, it made it easy to put the corresponding sentiment in the lower right corner. I used Naturals White for the base card and Black Stazon ink. Everything except the wave punch is from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!!

CASEing Taylor
This week's Featured Stamper is stagccva. Taylor has a very interesting gallery with cards done with stamps from many companies as well as digital images. I chose her "Paris Joy" card to CASE. She likes to make "Joy Cards", so I did too. I kept the scooter theme but used the new "On the Grow" set from the Summer Mini. I used different colors, too. I used the "Beyond the Garden" DSP from the Summer Mini and the new Bouquet Blossom Triple Layer Punch as well. I didn't use any Prima flowers, and my closure is done with the Bouquet Blossom with a Fire Circle Brad instead of ribbon. I colored with Pencils and blended with a Blender Pen and baby oil. Everything used to make this card is from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!!

Sentiment Only (ODBDSLC63)
The Our Daily Bread Designs Shining the Light Challenge is to use sentiments only. I took advantage of some pretty paper I just got last weekend at Jenny's in Grass Valley, California. I love roses! This card was pretty simple, really. The base card is Naturals White. There's a layer of Pink Pirouette and then the paper with all the pretty roses. The scripture from "Scripture Collection #3" (ODBD) was stamped on Whisper White and matted on Pink Pirouette scalloped rectangle. The ribbon is from Mark's Finest Papers, and the rose is from Michael's. Lots of roses here! The card stocks are from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!!

One Spring Flower (TSC0603)
The Twisted Sistahs Challenge was presented by irishgreensue. Greenie tried to make it tough I think. She challenged us to use at least one punch or die (circle die here), one embossing folder (Vintage Wallpaper here), spring colors (Rose Red and Wild Wasabi look springy to me!), one flower (stamped, sponged, cut out and popped up flower from "Fabulous Florets"), and finally, paper piercing that could not be in a straight line (that was my idea). I used an Onaire piercing template that I bought at Jenny's. I hope you can see all the piercing on the white panel. I made a bow out of Rose Red Ribbon Seam Binding to finish it off. Everything except for the circle die and piercing template is from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!!

June Club Projects
Club is tonight. I worked on these cards yesterday but didn't get a chance to post until now; busy, busy! This is my masculine card which could be used for Father's Day. I used the new "The Open Sea" set from the Summer Mini. The base card is Cherry Cobbler, and I used a couple of pieces of the nautical DSP in the Summer Mini, too. I intertwined some Bakers Twine around the cut out anchor and really super distressed the main image. That's the part I like the most. Everything is from Stampin' Up!
This card is a CASE of a RAK I got from mlehmer, another stamper from SCS. What a beauty, and I don't even know her at all! She must be a demo because she used all SU! products. The base card here is Naturals White with a layer of Basic Black and then an embossed layer (Tulip Frame) which is Blushing Bride DSP from the In-Color Hostess pack. The main image is stamped on Whisper White with Blushing Bride using "Fabulous Florets" and then matted with Basic Black. The sentiment is from "On Your Birthday" and the small oval, large oval and scallop oval punches were used. The flowers were sponged with Sponge Daubers, cut out and popped up. Blushing Bride Ribbon was used to top it off. I'm going to have to check out mlehmer's gallery!! Everything here is from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!!
