Susie's Party (2/16/08)
This is one of the cards we will make at Susie's party in February. She asked me to demonstrate one of the Sale-A-Bration (SAB) sets. This set is called "Birthday Whimsy", and it cannot be purchased. It can only be earned as a FREE set by making an order of at least $50. There are several sets from which to choose in the SAB brochure. I really like this one because you can make adult or juvenile birthday cards with it. It has five stamps: a cake (shown here), a balloon, a present, the "happy birthday" sentiment (shown here), and another sentiment that says, "...and many more!" For this card, a Pretty in Pink base card was used. The cake was stamped with Pretty in Pink on Naturals White, and the candles and plate were colored in with markers. Then, I stamped the cake again, cut it out and popped it up on dimensionals. I matted the main image panel on Certainly Celery and punched the corners with the Ticket Corner Punch. The sentiment was stamped on Naturals White with Celery, and the words were cut out and adhered to the card near the top. The flowers were punched with the Boho Blossoms Punch, and a pink brad was inserted in the center. I punched near the bottom right with the Double Rectangle Punch, pulled ribbon through, and tied a bow. The flower was attached right above the bow with a medium glue dot. I think even stamping novices will enjoy making this card!
