Krafty Birdie (CC225)
The Color Challenge on SCS today was to use Kraft, Night of Navy and So Saffron. I used mostly Kraft. That's why I named this "Krafty Birdie". The base card is Kraft with the front embossed with Stampin' Up!'s Backgrounds #1 Texturz Plate (Flourish). I scored twice at the top and put the ribbon in between. The bird was stamped on Naturals Ivory, slightly water colored, and the panel was sponged after die cutting. The flower was die cut using Birds and Blooms Sizzlits set. Then, each layer was sponged with So Saffron and embossed. The dot in the center was made with the Night of Navy Marker. Everything except for the Martha Stewart Branch Punch and the Labels Nestabilities is from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!!

Asian Artistry (Mojo93)
I used this week's Mojo Monday Sketch to try out some new In-Color card stock and ink. The base card and matting is Bermuda Bay, the yellow layer is Crushed Curry, and the white layers are Whisper White except for the main image panel which is the white card stock from the designer paper packages. The main image is stamped with Basic Black ink and it's from a new Level 2 Hostess set. I love the new polka dot ribbons!! Everything is from Stampin' Up! except for the Nestabilities and the Faux Eyelets. Thanks for visiting my blog today!!
- Stamps: Asian Artistry, Short & Sweet
- Papers: Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry, Whisper White, White CS from DSP packages
- Ink: Basic Black, Bermuda Bay
- Accessories: Big Shot, Scallop Square Nestie, Backgrounds #1 Texturz Plates, Large and Scallop Oval Punches, Dimensionals, Bermuda Bay Polka Dot Ribbon, Faux Eyelets
Celebrate! (CAS21)
Today's Clean & Simple Challenge was to add SPARKLE to our CAS designs. That's no problem for me since I love SPARKLE!! I have all kinds of glitter as well as glittery embossing powders. The challenging part is to keep the design simple; I keep wanting to add "stuff" to the card! LOL! Anyway, I used Stampin' Up!'s "Sticky Sheet" to create the star. I ran it through the Big Shot with the Star Sizzlit. Now, Sizzlits are thin, so they won't cut all the way through the Sticky Sheet so that you can just pop out the die cut. I cut around the whole thing, peeled off the backing and applied it to the Night of Navy piece. I used a craft knife to cut the inside star out and then peeled of the red plastic. I added White Chunky Glitter just to the inside star; then, I peeled off the red plastic from the rest of the star and added Red Chunky Glitter. The sentiment was stamped with Versamark and embossed with Red Tinsel embossing powder which I've had for years before I got into Stampin' Up! I added two score lines to set off the sentiment better. Everything except the red embossing powder came from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!!

Crocheted Flowers (FS125)
Yesterday, I finished the last of my 27 hours of Foster Care Training, and I was so exhausted when I got home (1 hour drive each way) that I didn't have the energy to create or post anything. This morning, I think the SCS site was acting wonky, so I couldn't do the Featured Stamper Challenge until after I got home from church, lunch and a trip to WalMart. Today's Featured Stamper is DawnL. Her card that I chose to CASE was actually a Featured Stamper card, too! The original card had stamped flowers, and she changed them to hand-crocheted flowers. I was inspired by that since I've been making some of those little flowers lately as well. I changed the card to mostly white. I didn't use patterned paper; instead, I embossed both panels. I used a Sizzlit die instead of a punch for the leaves, and I added half pearls to my flower centers. Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Have an ice day! (LSC226)
Today's Limited Supplies Challenge was like a Chinese Take-Out with three menus from which we were to choose one item.
From Menu #1, I chose a neutral image.
From Menu #2, I chose Reds/Blues
From Menu #3, I chose Die Cuts/Punches AND Embossing Folders/Texture Plates
It's been hot here and my A/C won't work! The repairman is coming this morning though. My friend says her cooler is working just fine, and I'm a bit jealous, so I thought I'd give her this card as a little joke! LOL! I know it's supposed to be a masculine card, but this one turned out to be generic. All products used to make this card are from Stampin' Up! except for the Nestabilities. Thanks for stopping by!

Triple Challenge (WT224, CD22, SASSC21)
I don't often combine challenges, but I don't have enough time to do these individually. First, the Ways To Use It Challenge was to use Bold & Bright colors; next, I found Riley's Color Dare Challenge which was to use Pink Passion, Apricot Appeal and Kiwi Kiss. Those colors seemed to fit today's Ways To Use It Challenge. Finally, I used Stamps & Smiles Thursday Sketch Challenge to put it all together. All products used to make this card except the Nestabilities are from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!!
- Stamps: Crazy for Cupcakes

Elephants don't forget (SC234)
Today's sketch challenge gave me the opportunity to show off one of my new stamp sets and the coordinating paper. The base card here is Chocolate Chip, and all matting is Old Olive. The smaller rectangles have the reverse side of the larger piece of designer paper. The elephant was stamped on So Saffron with Chocolate Chip ink. I did a bit of paper piercing on the main image panel and sponged all the panels. The inside sentiment says, "Did I at least get the month right?" The sentiments came from a retired Level 3 Hostess Set that was given to me by one of my ladies over a year ago. I thought that, since the elephant is a symbol of not forgetting, this would be perfect for a belated birthday card. Also, my brother, who will get this card, is a Democrat, and the elephant is the symbol of the Republican party. That's just a sisterly dig! LOL! All products used to make this card are from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!
- Stamps: Animal Stories, Older & Wiser (retired Level 3)
- Papers: Chocolate Chip, Old Olive, So Saffron, Whisper White, Tall Tales DSP

Wish Upon a Star (CC224)
I don't know why the photos came out so dark since I had plenty of light, but they did. This was for the Color Challenge to use Pacific Point, Tangerine Tango and Summer sun. I will send this to my grandson. I was there recently and gave him his birthday gift, but I didn't give him one of my cards. I will send cards to all three of the kids. I know they will enjoy receiving them.
This is how the card looks when it's standing up. You can see the yellow star which is popped up on the inside. It was punched and fits perfectly inside the Movers & Shapers die cut star. It is stamped with "Wish" from the Short & Sweet "Wish Big" stamp. I just colored it with a marker. To make the orange frame, I put a scrap piece of Tangerine Tango through the Big Shot on the star die. Then, I trimmed around the negative space (the star shaped hole) to create the frame. All products used to make this card are from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!!!

- Papers: Pacific Point, Tangerine Tango, Summer Sun
- Ink: Brilliant Blue Marker
- Accessories: Big Shot, Movers & Shapers Star Die, Large and Small Star Punches, Tangerine Tango Striped GG Ribbon, Star Brad

Lucky Duck! (CAS20)
After church yesterday we went to lunch. After that, I took my mother (94 years old) grocery shopping. By the time we finished, unloaded all her groceries and then unloaded mine, I was just too tired to get creative!! I'm back on it today though. For the Clean & Simple Challenge, we were to do paper piecing. Notice there's no "r" in that word. You stamp the image on your main image panel and then again on patterned paper. You cut out the portion you want out of the patterned paper and "piece" it together on top of the image on the main image panel. It's a fun technique. Everything used to create this card is from Stampin' Up except for the Nestabilities die. Thanks for stopping by!
- Stamps: Wagon Full of Fun
- Papers: Pink Pirouette, White CS from DSP package, Prints Pack Pretty In Pink and So Saffron (retired)

ETA: I actually started this post yesterday (Monday), but didn't finish it until now. Sorry!

Bugaloo Hoot (IC185)
Well, I'm back from California, and I went to two days of trainings yesterday and today, so I'm really very tired, but I thought I'd make a "Clean & Simple" card for today's Inspiration Challenge. We were to be inspired by the toddler shoes at this Bugaloo site. I'm sorry the photo isn't that good, but I'm too tired to "do-over." The owl on the front is a Rub-on from the Level 3 Hostess Bundle and the sentiment is from "Owl Together Now". I scored twice on the bottom and the same at the top but hid the top scoring by adding the ribbon. I lined the inside with white and stamped an owl near the bottom. Everything used to make this card is from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!!!
- Stamps: Owl Together Now
- Papers: Baja Breeze
- Ink: Chocolate Chip
- Accessories: Loop to Loop Rub-ons, Chocolate Chip Taffeta Ribbon, Stylus, Trimmer

Hi! from California
What fun it is to visit family you haven't seen in a while! We laughed and laughed!! After dinner last night, we played a game called, "Who-nu". It's fun for all ages. We just had to read the cards to the little ones. After that, my grandkids got ready for bed and my daughter, son-in-law, younger son and I settled down to watch a movie. We even had popcorn in plastic popcorn boxes! I was the first one up this morning, of course. I checked out the sketch challenge and can't wait to try it when I get back. My son-in-law is up now and puttering around in the kitchen. My son got up and was hungry, of course. He just got something to drink for now. Well, I don't know what my daughter has planned for today, so I'll just go with the flow. We'll be leaving tomorrow, so I'll probably be able to post something tomorrow night. Thanks for visiting!!

Heading to California
I'm going to be gone for a couple of days. My son and I are going to California to visit my oldest daughter. I might not return until Thursday night and I have a training all day Friday and again on Saturday. I will still have my Ladies Night Out Club on Friday night. I'll just get things out and ready on Friday morning. Busy times!! Anyway, I won't be posting any cards or projects until next weekend probably. I'll see how much time I have on Thursday night. You all take care now, and thank you for your understanding. If I can take some pics while I'm gone, I might post those. I just don't know what we will be doing! Until Thursday then! Happy days everyone!!!
You stand out in a crowd (CAS19)
The details about the CAS (Clean & Simple) Challenge can be found here. This challenge was a sketch. My little card is 4-1/4" square. The base card is GP White (a bit thicker than Whisper White), and I scored a frame. Actually, I need more practice at that. This one didn't turn out as well as expected! The main image panel is white on Riding Hood Red. I used a stamp from the current Level 3 Bundle and outlined one of the flowers with a Real Red Marker. Then, I added the red rhinestone. The sentiment is from a new set which will be available from the new catalog on July 1, 2009. That's it! Another CAS card! Thanks for stopping by!!
- Stamps: Hand Drawn Bundle (retiring), Teeny Tiny Wishes (New)
- Papers: GP White, Riding Hood Red
- Ink: Riding Hood Red, Basic Black, Real Red Marker
- Accessories: Stylus, Trimmer, Rhinestone

CASEing sumtoy (FS123)
The Featured Stamper for this week is sumtoy (Roseanne). I've always admired her work!
Her card that I chose to CASE is shown at the right. I changed colors, sentiment, and I embossed a Whisper White piece instead of using designer paper. I'm so glad this challenge was posted early! This post counts for Sunday because I may get too busy to post anything to my blog. I have to get things die cut for Friday's club! Thanks for looking in!

LNO Project
I've seen a few of these little purses around lately. NANCYRUTH has done at least three! I thought my ladies in the Ladies' Night Out Club would enjoy making them along with four little 3" X 3" gift cards to go inside. Each lady will have a different color (In-Color) card stock and different designer paper. I'm going to let them design their own gift cards. It will be fun!! Thanks for visiting my blog today!

Milk Carton Inspired (IC184)
The Blogger upload is not working right now, so I can't upload the photo of the card I made for the Inspiration Challenge. For now, I'm just going to link to the one in my SCS Gallery. I'll come back later and edit this post to add the photo of the card. Thanks for your patience!
Update!
The Blogger upload is working! Yay! So here's the card I made for the Inspiration Challenge!
Who says I can't make a one-layer card??!! LOL! We were to get our inspiration from packaging and I found mine on a milk carton! I colored the stamp with markers, scored the card front once at the bottom, added three brads, and stamped the sentiment. All products used to make this card are from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!

Water & Sand (LSC224)
The Limited Supplies Challenge was called "Water and Sand" meaning we could use ANY theme we wanted as long as we used blues and/or greens and neutrals (for the water and sand) plus, we had to follow the list which was to use brads, ribbon or twine and paper piercing. All three of those items were required. What a fun challenge!! I took the Water & Sand title seriously I guess. I used Nestabilities to cut the circles, embossed the Baja Breeze circle with the Cuttlebug Tiny Bubbles embossing folder and sponged it with Pacific Point. I stamped the shell with Creamy Caramel on a scrap of Blush Blossom and cut it out. I punched the "coral" from a scrap of Kiwi Kiss with the Martha Stewart Branches Punch. The seahorse was stamped with Basic Black on a scrap of Certainly Celery. After cutting it out, it looked kind of dull to me, so I used the VersaMarker on it and embossed it with Clear Embossing Powder. Now, it's shiny! The shell and the seahorse are popped up as well as the whole scallop circle panel. I used brads in the upper left, ribbon near the bottom, and I pierced the very bottom to look like waves. Thanks for stopping by!!!
- Stamps: Ocean Commotion
- Papers: Baja Breeze, Creamy Caramel, Kiwi Kiss, Certainly Celery, Blush Blossom
- Ink: Pacific Point (sponging), Creamy Caramel, Basic Black
- Accessories: Big Shot, Circle and Scallop Circle Nesties, Sponge, Snips, Clear EP, Heat Tool, CB Tiny Bubbles EF, MS Branches Punch, Brads, Baja Breeze Striped GG Ribbon, Mat Pack, Piercer, Scallop Edge Border Punch (piercing template), Dimensionals

Asian (SC232)
This is for yesterday's Sketch Challenge on SCS. The stamp set is a new Level 2 Hostess Set that will be available on July 1, 2009. I just love the Asian sets. I used up scraps of designer paper with this sketch, and I did some sponging. This card was made entirely of Stampin' Up!products. Thanks for visiting my blog today!
- Stamps: Asian Artistry (09-10 Level 2 Hostess Set)
- Papers: Basic Black, Whisper White, Old Olive Prints Pack (retired)
- Ink: Basic Black, Old Olive
- Accessories: Sponge, Dimensionals
Crinkled Flower (WT222)
Today's Ways To Use It Challenge on SCS was to use a crinkled card stock flower. I used designer paper instead of card stock so that the sanding would show. I sewed the button to the center of the flower with Linen Thread and popped up the flower on a Pop-up Glue Dot. All products used to make this card are from Stampin' Up! Thanks for visiting my blog today!
- Stamps: Elegant Cheer (on Last Chance List until June 30th)
- Papers: Pink Pirouette, Pretty In Pink and Old Olive Prints Pack (retired)

Something Old, Something New
I was just goofing around and made this card with the So Saffron Ribbon (2009 SAB) which is retired and the Elegant Cheer Stamp set which is retiring. I used the Birds & Blooms Sizzlits to create the flower which I sponged and embossed. I got the inspiration for the flower from Mercy's blog! The sentiment was stamped and the sponging was done with the new Crushed Curry which will be available July 1st.
My Thursday Nighters' Club meets tomorrow night and I've had such a busy day today. I still needed to come up with my second project though. The first one is by request and it can be found in an earlier post. Since the first card will be time consuming, I wanted to make a much simpler one for the second project. I went to Mercy's blog and got my inspiration for this one, too! I wanted to use some retiring items for this card, so I used Pink Pirouette for the base card, Beautiful Borders stamp set for the horizontal strip, and Elegant Cheer for the sentiment. The Pink Pirouette Striped Grosgrain Ribbon is also retiring since it's an "In-Color". My ladies will be able to choose from the six sentiments in the set to use on their cards. All products used to make these cards are from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!
- Stamps: Elegant Cheer, Beautiful Borders (Card #2)
- Papers: Card #1: Naturals White, So Saffron, Certainly Celery; Card #2: Pink Pirouette, Basic Black, Whisper White

Hey, Cupcake! (CC122)
Today's Color Challenge on SCS was to use white card stock for a one-layer card and any color of ink and/or embellishments we wanted. I used Naturals White for the base card. I like that card stock because of its thickness. I made use of the current Level 3 Hostess Bundle before it retires. The "Hey Cupcake" is part of the Loop to Loop Rub-ons and so is the "stitching" design at the bottom. The cupcake is stamped with the Hand Drawn stamp set that comes in the bundle. I scored one line at the bottom as well. I colored right on the rub-on with Tempting Turquoise Marker. The sentiment comes from a new set that will be available from the new Idea Book and Catalog on July 1, 2009. All products used to make this card are from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!
- Stamps: Hand Drawn Bundle, Teeny Tiny Wishes (not available until July 1st)

Behold God in Everything (Mojo90)
I can't believe it! I missed last week's Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Well, I got right on it today! The link will take you to today's sketch, not the one I missed. This started out with a Naturals White base card. There's a layer of Pretty In Pink with a layer of Pink Pirouette Patterns Designer Paper on that. The tilted square is more of the same designer paper matted on Pretty In Pink. The main image panel is Whisper White on Pretty In Pink. The sentiment is stamped with Basic Gray. I think I must be known for my little embossed flowers by now! The medallion at the top is Pretty in Pink with the designer paper in the middle. Finally, I used one of the foil 3-D butterflies I found at the Dollar Store, 7 in a package! Thanks for visiting my blog today!
- Stamps: Wonderful Watercolors
- Papers: Naturals White, Pretty In Pink, Whisper White, Pink Pirouette Patterns DSP
- Ink: Basic Gray, White Gel Pen
- Accessories: Scallop Circle Punch, 1-3/8" Circle Punch, Flower Trio Punch, MS Leaf Punch, Mat Pack, Embossing Stylus, 3-D Butterfly Sticker
Nobody Here But Us Chickens! (CAS18)
The Clean & Simple Challenge was to use pinks/corals, Kraft and another coordinating color. I placed an order last Monday which I thought would get here by Friday, but it won't arrive until today. In the meantime, one of my ladies who placed an order moved over the weekend. Now, I have to ship her order to her myself, so I thought I'd include this card! The chick is die cut, the papers came from my scrap bin (except for the base card), and I scored two lines at the bottom of the card front which you can't see very well unless you click on the photo. Thanks for stopping by!
- Stamps: All Year Cheer II (retired)
- Papers: Kraft, Naturals White, Very Vanilla, Rose Red, Pink Pirouette Patterns DSP

CASEing Kisa (FS122)
Today's Featured Stamper was Kisamari. I can't believe I've never been in her gallery. It's extensive and she has so many beautiful creations! I wanted to make a card for a friend who likes dragonflies. I bought these pearl dragonflies at the Dollar Store a while back. I think they are supposed to be sewn onto clothing, but I thought they'd work on cards too.
Here's a close-up of the dragonfly. It's amazing what you can find in the Dollar Store! I think I had a beaded sweater when I was a teenager that had a butterfly or something on it. This reminds me of that.

At the right is Kisa's card that inspired me. I think hers was for a Color Challenge. She did such a beautiful job on hers. I'm too shaky today to do much good, but I tried. I went with just the black and white and used less layers. I also changed from brads to pearls and used a different stamp set. She made such a lovely card, and it was very inspiring! Thanks for visiting my blog today!!!

Echoes of Kindness (SASSC18)
This card is for Thursday's Stamps and Smiles Sketch Challenge. I put some thought into this one and wound up keeping it very simple. The base card is Brocade Blue with a layer of white that has been embossed with the Cuttlebug Textiles embossing folder. The three medallions are designer paper designs that were punched or cut into squares. I used the 1-3/8" Circle Punch to punch out the circle part. The flower was stamped off once before stamping onto the main image panel and the sentiment was stamped over with black. The main image panel was popped up. The inside was lined with white which was scored twice at the bottom and stamped with the same flower as the main image panel without stamping off. Thanks for stopping by!!!

VERY Clean & Simple (IC183)
I didn't have time to post anything yesterday. I got busy cooking and cleaning because my son and I had a dinner guest. I did do a scrap book page, but I don't plan to post it. I will probably post another card later to make up for lost time. The photo here has a pinkish tinge. It must come from reflection off my bathroom walls, but it doesn't happen to every photo and I don't know how to get rid of it. Oh well! For today's Inspiration Challenge, we were to draw our inspiration from colorfully decorated rooms at DesignDazzle.com. The room I chose may be found here. I just decided to make a Clean & Simple card with the colors shown in the room. I was tempted to add things and/or fill up the empty space on this card, but I was determined to keep it a CAS card! All products used to make this card except for the brads came from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!

Teacher Appreciation (WT221)
It's interesting that today's Ways To Use It Challenge was called, "Creative Images." We were to create our own images using punches, create a shaped card such as a flower to create our image, arrange brads or buttons to create an image or draw out our own and cut it out of card stock. I actually made two of these cards last night for two of my son's teachers. He's on an I.E.P. and has really had a lot of help and support from his Special Needs Math teacher and his Study Skills teacher. My "Creative Image" is the chalk board on this Teacher Appreciation card. I used Basic Black and Creamy Caramel card stocks, Close to Cocoa Marker, and a White Gel Pen to create the chalk board. I mitered the corners and, after assembling, rounded the corners with the 3/16" Corner Rounder Punch. This was a fun card to make! I hope the teachers who receive them enjoy them along with their little gifts. Thanks for stopping by!!

Black & White Thanks (SC231)
This is for the Wednesday Sketch Challenge at Splitcoaststampers.com.
The layout is shown at the right. I was going to use designer paper on those vertical panels but decided to do a black & white card with embossing instead. The butterfly was punched, embossed, and sponged before adding it to the sentiment panel which is the only thing that was stamped. Thanks for stopping by!!

Hi There! (CC221, CASSC17)
I'm getting behind again, so this is a challenge combo. Today's Color Challenge on SCS was to use Kiwi Kiss, Riding Hood Red, and Tangerine Tango. I also used the Stamps and Smiles weekly sketch from last Thursday. The strawberry was die cut using Riding Hood Red and Kiwi Kiss card stock. I embossed where the seeds were supposed to be and added gold glitter. The butterfly was punched, embossed and sponged. By now you must know how much I love using the little Flower Trio punched flowers and embossing them! Thanks for stopping by!!

CASEing Roxie (FS121)
This should have been posted yesterday, but I got busy! This is for the Featured Stamper Challenge. The Featured Stamper this week was Rox71, our very own Roxie, the Sketch Challenge Queen off Splitcoaststampers!
This was one of those where I didn't want to change a thing, but you have to change at least two things, so I changed the colors and the stamp. I don't have and Cornish Heritage Farms stamps anyway. I love those Thomas Kincaid stamps though! Oh, yes, I don't have the small butterfly punch either, so I just have the two punched butterflies on my card. Everything except for the butterfly punch and the Cuttlebug folders is from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by!!!
