Dora for Eva (MMTPT196)

Yesterday, I had to take my son to his appointment and, since my daughter couldn't come to sit with my mom, I had to take my mom with us. She has been sick with the flu for several days and had a very bad rash which was painful and hard for her to sit in the car. When we got to the appointment, she started talking funny, and we thought she might be having another stroke, so we left there and took her to ER. Well, the intestinal issues that caused the rash also caused a urinary tract infection. This might be what caused the speech issues or she actually might have had a stroke. In any event, she's in the hospital on antibiotics, and a wound specialist is supposed to come and look at her today. She's 97, and her skin is tissue paper thin, so it doesn't take much to cause it to open up. I may be able to take her home this evening or possibly tomorrow. So, that's why I didn't get to the tea party yesterday. Since she's not here today, I'm catching up on laundry and card making. This card is for the tea party. We had to bring Dora the Explorer. The card will go to a little girl who has been extremely ill. She loves Dora, and her favorite colors are pink and purple. I think everyone had to go online to get their images, just as I did. I used a heavy white card stock for the base card, and I put a layer of Making Memories Gingham dp on it. I used Sizzix "Round-a-bout" alphabet Sizzlits for the letters and added punched and embossed flowers. I used Nesties for the main image panel and scalloped frame. In the title, "Dora the Explorer", the "the" is in a blue arrow. I used an SU! punch to punch out the arrow and then used a White Gel Pen to hand write "Eva", which is the little girl's name. I added the little purple bow just so it would have both of her favorite colors on the card. Thanks for stopping by!!

CA - so sorry to hear about the troubles you mother had. I sure hope she didn't have a stroke. Your card is wonderful and fun - so great for the teaparty and the recipient.

I like the card.
It was so good that you are there for your Mom. Precious times even though they can be stressful.
